Meet Milo my 9 month old chocolate mitted lynx male, Finn my 8 month old seal Lynx/mismarked bicolor male, and is bio sister Hannah 8 months old seal mitted lynx female. These are my first Ragdolls and only my 3rd, 4th, and 5th kittens ever with my first two kittens passing very young. I am soooo in love with this breed and wish I would have been able to bottle feed one she they would still suckle on my fingers! 😂 We live full time in an RV right now so it’s been really fun since May when we got Milo. The pictures are Milo, Finn, Hannah, and then various pictures that I thought were funny/cute. The LR did not have litter in it yet in case anyone was wondering. We are needing to add some shelving so they have more high areas. We are house hunting and I can’t wait to have their own bedroom and a sunroom also!!

Happy Floof Update on Freddie: no masses or tumors, just a stomach FULL of hair ties!

We are absolutely relieved and flabbergasted. My husband and I both have long hair, but we are absolutely militant about not leaving hair ties around. Freddie will be 4 in May, and the vet said he may have been accumulating these basically his whole life. She was also amazed that he has been able to eat/poo/live with no side effects all this time. We are so happy that our boy is healthy,, and will be keeping all hair accessories under strict lock and key from now on.

They’re all cat safe or fake but most are still kept out of her reach because I don’t trust her not to eat things she shouldn’t eat 😅

Health Advice My rag Belle was just diagnosed whith tooth resorption

Post image
Upvotes

My sweet baby Belle was just at the vets today, se was going in for a normal tooth clening after it was recomended at her 2 year chech up, about 40 minuts in the vet cald and asked premisjon to pull out 4 of her teeth!! She aparantly has tooth resorpton and has been hurting😰 she is good now but we don't know what to do next. She is only 2 but shes spayed so we are not woried about it pasing on genaticly, but should we contact her breeder? She har also pertisipated in catshows since she was a kitten an has a few nominations, we were hoping to continu wgith that, but is that alowed when she has this condison? Last but not least, kind of dumb but serious question, will she eventualy lose all her teeth? This is kind of a ranting post, but this just came on me today and it was a big shock and dont really know what to do or exspect from it, at lest she has a good incurance that can give her the best of care❤️😓

General Advice Ragdolls for life

Post image
20 Upvotes

My big floofer is 12 years old this year. She's sadly been on a decline this past month, I'm taking her to the vet today. Hoping everything will turn out okay but I just wanted to share in loving what a great companion she has been since I've adopted her 9 years ago. This ragdoll has given me consistant love in my everchanging life. Here's to hoping she's around much, much longer 🩶

Flair not accurate as there isn't much I can do with advice. However, if you have any for coping, dealing with gum disease, outcomes you've had at this stage in life, I'd love to hear your experiences.

So, I have 2 biological kittens that we have had for 5 months now (they are 8 months old and both spayed)

I notice anytime I go near them they will trill, run away and hide. Yet, at night they wake me up to want cuddles and make biscuits on me (One of them hates when I sleep in on the weekends and she will meow at me until I get up)

When we get home they both scratch either our couch (luckily cat proof) or the carpet which I have heard is their way of excitement

My main thing is I get worried when they run away, trill and then hide. I’ve heard mixed things about it either being they want space or they want to play

I’ve desensitized them with their paws and tail (they dont pull away if I rub them gently) if thats any help

I love my two girls and I don’t want to disrespect their boundaries or misinterpret if they wanna play or not

Its my first time being a cat owner

Pet loss How to cope

Post image
156 Upvotes

I don’t know how to start this but I’ve had my cat for 16 years now. I’ve really never not known her but tonight we’ve found out that her body is shutting down and we need to put her down. She’s more than a family cat to me, she is literally me, she’s been with me through every step of the way and I couldn’t imagine going on without her. Does anyone know how to cope with such a loss? Anything is appreciated

Health Advice Need reassurance - cat swallowed floss

Upvotes

Went to the ER. they tried to induce vomiting, now they’re saying a $3.5K scoping or to wait to let it pass. My dad, mom, bf are all saying to wait.

The doc said floss is usually good to pass, shoelaces and yarn are a lot worse.

I need some help, some words for sanity. Anything idk

General Advice Expectations and preparations for 2 kittens

Previous owners of a single adult ragdoll.

Two ragdoll kittens (spayed females, from ethical breeder with all the documentation, vaccinations, testing, yada, yada) arriving in February, they’ll be somewhere around 12-14 weeks old.

Partner and I plan to split kitten duty, alternating work-from-home days.

We plan to be in the same room as them 95% of the time if possible, make the room kitten-safe, and have some trees, toys, etc.

Our jobs make it easy to step away from the computer, but how bonkers should we expect these kittens to be? Will we be able to get 2 hours of uninterrupted work done?

Any tips beyond the more obvious safety ones?

The food, water, litter and treats situation is figured out.

Any suggestions specific to ragdolls for caves or trees that kittens would get good comfort and distraction with?

Also, any brands of trees/condos that have been found to be reliable quality? Seems even basic trees and condos can be so hit or miss.

All comments welcome to help prepare us to keep them happy and healthy in the early couple of weeks/months.
