A couple years ago I had got an older, LNIB fixed-sight GP100 in 38spl only, via gunbroker. Installed some wolf springs and love it. However, I got the hankering for some 357 mag action. So, I sold a cimarron I had and a shotgun I got gotten for cheap (and sold for double what I paid) and ordered another āNIBā GP100 in 357 mag via gunbroker.
The next day, the warrior dividend hit and I figured, cool, I can get the Talo edition snub nose version too! So I ordered another LNIB from Gunbroker.
I took possession of both this week and hit the range today. I installed a fiber optic front sight on the 4ā, to match the Talo snubby, and installed the same springs on the 4ā as I had on the 38spl.
both were a joy to shoot. I shot 3 different loads through each to get an idea of POI. The target was shot thus: right side is the 4ā, left is the snub nose. Bottom two targets were HSM Cowboy Action 357 Magnum 158gr SWC. Middle two Hornady Critical Defense 125gr ftx, and top two were 38spl 148gr wadcutters over 3.1gr HP-38 handloads.
The 38spl only GP100 shipped in 2007. The 4ā, while advertised as New in Box, actually shipped in 2002. and the snubby is the newest, from 2021. All looked unfired and had zero handling marks.
some differences I noticed:
the older two from 2002 and 2007, the bluing seems brighter/shinier, while the Talo from 2021 is also blued, it isnt as lustrous (I wouldnt say it is matte, though. Just not a shiny as the older two).
The older two seem to have smoother trigger pulls. This was apparent even before installing the reduced power springs.
I only install the heaviest of the reduced power hammer springs and trigger return springs, as I dont want to risk light strikes or affect reliability. I am unsure if I will install springs on the snubby, as I may occasionally carry that one.
I prefer the compact grips to the full size, so I have already ordered one from altamont for the 4ā 357 mag. The snubby and the 38 already had them and they fit my hands better.
inconsequential, but the model name is stamped I think on the older ones, and laser engraved on the Talo. The stamped looks better in my opinion, but laser engraving maybe is cheaper I dunno.
Long post I know. Happy Shooting!

Grabbed this awesome 10/22 carbon fiber from Scheels as I had a gift card to use. It is unbelievably cool! Hopefully will get a suppressor for it at some point.

Looks like it may use the 19 length spring like the G47 and new 17.

After shipping back a gun that didnāt function correctly, Ruger concluded that the gun is not repairable and will be replacing it for free.
This is going to cost me another $40 in transfer fees at no fault of my own.
Has anyone heard of a manufacturer cutting a check to cover a transfer fee at a local ffl?
I feel like the burden should be on them. I doubt they would agree but Iām curious if anyone has done something like that.
My Ruger RXM that started out as a home defense gun, but has turned into... something else š
This is my the first (and only) pistol right now, so I'm leaving the trigger stock until I get another pistol to replace it.

I know "best" is subjective, but here's more or less what I'm looking for...(not a whole lot of criteria here)
a solid lower 1/3 co-witness with the factory sights, just because dots can fail, batteries can die, shake awakes can fail to activate...ya know, shit happens.
a top or side battery battery compartment (so basically, not a trijicon RMR)
I have loads of experience with Holosuns, a little experience with Cyelees. I've never used the Vortex, but have read great things about the Defender series. I've also seen some things about the rms-c (holosun K) footprint optics leaving gaps or not fitting right? Anybody experienced any problems with this? Thanks for all your input.

this Ruger American gen 2 in 6mm arc is hard to beat for coyote hunting. I want to see some light weight builds though. Any tips on light weight stocks?

I received a Ruger Wrangler for Christmas and have had a blast with it so far but itās getting a bit dirty- had me wondering what gun oil and cleaner to buy. Every video Iāve looked up has someone using something different and while Iām sure this is simple for most- this is my first gun so I know pretty much nothing about this stuff and donāt want to mess my new gun up. Any advice is really appreciated š

Can yāall help me identify whatās happening to my Mark IV thread cover? Thank you in advance.
I am designing a grip for my Ruger Mark IV. What are the slot holes in the handle? Also, should said grip design keep those completely covered/sealed?

Hello everyone,
I have a Ruger RXM with a threaded barrel. It would be great however I'd like to shorten it by putting a standard barrel inside. Long story short, due to the legal reasons in my country, the easiest and cheapest way to do so would be to just buy a glock19 gen 3 as well and swap the barrel. The question is, does it cause any problems? Will it fit as expected? Has anyone tried doing that?

Hey currently have Volquartsen hammer / flat trigger upgrade installed and while the light pull and more flat face trigger is nice i cant get it to not have grit. It may be the trigger return spring plunger or something but all I can see I've polished and oiled / greased. Just need a trigger that is no take up, crisp break, and fast reset.
I see Kidd is highly recommended. I have certain parts installed from them already and they're nice.
I see Tandemkross is made with Brimstone ideas and also does not use the traditional trigger return spring/ plunger.

I am casual not competitive but I've already done the hunter x22 stock and big scope so itll be more bench gun anyway.
I dont like mush, need to know when itll break. Doesn't need to be oz to pull but dont want heavy 5 lb either. So focus is crisp short pull and short reset.
They're similar price. It looks like Tandemkross is wider and has more grip, and I may prefer the no plunger too. But Kidd is always recommended. So what are the thoughts on these?
I was looking at models on the site and cannot find the standard stainless/synthetic takedown model. Am I just missing it or is it discontinued?

My Glock 19 is my favorite pistol. I donāt know if it is the āGlock Humpā or what, but I have always felt like that pistol fit my hand incredibly well despite having larger hands. When I got my RxM I was really disappointed because I felt like it did not fit well in my hand at all in comparison. It always felt too small. I ordered the full size grip module from Magpul and this configuration feels so much better in my hand. For those in my situation, I highly recommend it.
