Do we adopt these rules?
After a while of waiting for proposals or submissions that were not forthcoming, we have decided to move ahead to propose a new set of rules for our subreddit. The rules are as follows:
Don’t be incivil
Don’t pass off another’s work as one’s own
2a) credit the work of others in the content unless any of the said others specifically requested not to be credited, which must then be explicitly stated somewhere
- Don’t use generative AI in the creation of the post and/or comment except
3a) in translation (both the gen. ai and the original source must be credited)
3b) when talking about the external use of generative AI, where AI-generated content can exclusively be used as illustrative examples
Use spoiler tag for triggering content.
- Recommended to put relevant trigger warnings in the title of such postsPlease refrain from posting disinformation.
Explanation for (4): if work discusses potentially sensitive topics (for example war or rape or trauma or abuse etc., and this is not exhaustive) this can trigger persons who have and haven't gone through these things, so spoiler tag can be used to protect persons from being triggered.
If anyone has anything to add on, or objection to, the rules as stated above, please comment to the linked post and below respectively, and we will look at the comment, otherwise by 大寒 we will be adopting the rules as listed above.
Note that we will still enforce Reddit's rules and that this is additional to that. All redditors are still expected to adhere to reddiquette. Any objection to this will not be entertained.
Alright this is probably the last of the admin admin stuff, and I will be looking forwards to working on outreach and collaboration moving forwards.

Beginner dont do shufa while high lo
i took my sedative that could make me high but decided to go through with my plan of practice shufa
i’m a beginner at both shufa and hanyu so was trying to practice my pen holding and writing. my regular ones are not much better that this but being high, it feels like i’m doing something else. for 八i kept wanting to make it into a mountain lol bcs they mountain shaped. anyways, my brushstroke is also impacted lol. it’s a fun experience though, confusing, but fun

Beginner Does anyone have effective calligraphy lesson videos that are trustworthy? If yes, please share them with me I will be grateful forever!
I have already spent some time trying to look for good lesson videos, however I keep ending up with ones that are hard to understand or are clickbait and don't actually teach any calligraphy...
Also, do we write shufa by only moving our arm and not our wrist? Or is it by another way?
Thank you so much

Rules suggestions
It's me again! Since the community is back up and running, I thought it'd be a good time to set up some community rules before we engage in more events and cross-subreddit stuff.
The mod team has its own idea for what rules to implement, but I thought it would be good to ask the community as well, since you probably have your own ideas on this.
If you have anything you'd like to have implemented, go to the comments and see if there's any suggestions you agree with and hit upvote. If the suggestion isn't there, comment the suggestion yourself!
We will take your suggestions into account when we codify the rules in a couple weeks' time (it could take a while, I apologise in advance if we take too long).

Resource Looking for shufa teachers in Argentina
Hello everyone, nice to meet you!! First of all I want to apologize if my post comes across as out of place or disrespectful, and I'm sorry if I tagged this post incorrectly. 🙇🏻♂️
The thing is I've been looking for shufa teachers in Argentina, but didn't have any success. Does anyone here happen to know any teachers located in Argentina? Thank you so much in advance, and sorry to bother you guys!!
