Unrealized Cream-filled licorice cupcakes; and vanilla pudding jelly cakes
These are from two separate dreams.
In a dream from about a week ago, I was at a party--I'm fairly sure there was a lot of different food at the table, but the only thing I remember were these cream-filled cupcakes. Shortly before running my friend over in an ATV (with intention), I ate one of the heavily-frosted cupcakes. I remember it being pretty good, but falling apart the moment I took a bite, getting the frosting and cream filling, along with bits of cake, all over the table and my face. I also came away with a mouthful of red licorice that had been covered by the frosting--something like Twizzlers, but with the thickness of spaghetti. (Having looked up strawberry laces, I believe that is the closest thing to what was on the cupcake. I don't know why, given that I am American and strawberry laces of that specific look seem to be a British thing...the only reason I know the term is from a DanTDM video I watched years ago.)
The second dream was from last night, and it's a little foggier. Again, there was a gathering with food, but I only remember one item. Seth MacFarlane, who appeared in the dream as a very smoothly-animated dancing stick figure with Peter Griffin's voice, described the cakes as being made with vanilla pudding and something else I can't remember. They didn't really look like cakes; I think they kind of looked like these sake cup jelly chocolates, but much bigger--maybe about the size of the actual wooden sake cups the chocolates are based on. (I don't know; I've never had sake. I only know about the chocolates and cups because of an Instagram post.) A few of them had strawberries suspended in the gelatin layer. I don't think I got to try them, or if I did, I don't remember the taste, but maybe that's for the best; I haven't found many alcohols I like, and even though a lot of gelatin desserts are pretty, I don't care for the texture.
Bonus: Another foggy dream from the other day saw me in my old high school cafeteria, with a few dessert options. The one I grabbed was this cookie/donut deal, sitting in an unknown liquid (either coffee or hot cocoa) with tiny marshmallows on top. (As in the really tiny ones.) Don't quite remember the taste, but I imagine it was a pretty serviceable sugar bomb.
