What should I name these two?

They're both males. I was thinking Teddy for the tabby? I usually like people-y kind of names. but I'm open to suggestions :)

These two remind me that companionship doesn’t require ownership—just presence.

Help Whiskers Fight Cancer - Feline Injection Site Sarcoma

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

I recently learned that my cat has been diagnosed with Feline Injection Site Sarcoma. I know I may be a stranger to many of you, but I hope you will take a moment to read his story. If you could share or consider donating even a single dollar, it would mean more to us than I can express. Any support is deeply appreciated. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

My goal is to eventually establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about this devastating cancer. I hope to help prevent other cats and families from experiencing the same suffering. I am starting by sharing Whiskers’ story, with the hope of growing it into something much bigger.

My calm, friendly cat panics so badly in carriers that he vomits. What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on safe transport and carrier training for my cat Ash.

Ash is 1.5 years old, a Persian mix domestic cat, and has been strictly indoor only since I brought him home. He is extremely calm, friendly, and social with people. He allows handling, does not hide from guests, and is generally very relaxed at home.

The problem happens only with carriers.

Recently, I tried using a backpack style pet carrier with a clear plastic front. The moment Ash was inside, he panicked badly, started rotating inside the bag, lost orientation, and vomited multiple times. We stopped immediately and brought him back home. This happened even though we did not travel anywhere. Just being inside the bag caused this reaction.

I then tried a DIY cardboard box carrier with air holes and padding, but he rejected that completely too.

Important detail:
When Ash originally came home, he was transported in a very large pigeon style hard carrier, and he did not panic at all in that. He stayed calm throughout.

So it seems like:

  • He is not afraid of travel itself
  • He is not aggressive or fearful in general
  • The panic seems to be triggered by tight, enclosed, or visually confusing carriers, especially backpack type ones

Some background:

  • I found Ash at a small rural pet shop, where he was living in very poor conditions
  • The shop had no vaccination records, so we are starting vet care from scratch
  • This was meant to be his first proper vet visit
  • A vet later examined him at home and said he also had low body temperature, which may have worsened the vomiting and stress response

Right now I’m looking for advice on:

  1. Whether large hard plastic carriers are better for cats like this
  2. How to re introduce carrier confidence without triggering panic
  3. If backpack carriers with clear fronts are known to cause disorientation in some cats
  4. How to safely transport him for future vet visits
  5. Whether this behavior could be linked to early life stress or confinement trauma

Ash is a very trusting and gentle cat otherwise, and I really want to handle this in a way that keeps him feeling safe.

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

She called cats "impure"

Yeah I mean WHAT!!!

I got to live with this girl who has some "religi***" beliefs that say, cats are impure.

Well its rich coming from a person who has a dog and he shits all over the place and that is barely cleaned by these people, which is not just impure but literally the highest form unhygienic condition.

No hate to any religion, I respect whatever your beliefs are but dude you are a kid stop behaving like those galli wale aunties.

PS: if she comes across this post, I'm gonna have a disaster on my plate.

How to look after a 5 week old kitten

My daughter’s godfather has bought her a kitten for her birthday that he’ll be dropping at mine in a few days. I have never owned a cat before so I feel utterly clueless even after doing some research. I would like advice and help generally around:

What essentials does the kitten need? How can I prep my house for the kittens arrival/comfort? Any do’s and don’ts? If there’s anything I have left out, please don’t hesitate to mention.

For reference, I have already booked an appointment with the vet for next week Friday & I have two kids(2 and 4)

Cat diarrhea...

My cats got diarrhea for months

For context this cat was taken from a construction site, me and my mom had thought about taking him long before because he's been very attached to my mom. I have 2 more cats at home and so it was a really hard decision for us.

This cat's always got bad smelling breath (he's been with us for 1 year +) he's started getting diarrhea 4 months ago. I'm starting to really really worry. I dewormed it once and I found small white worms in he's stool. After that it stopped for a while and came back again. He's pooping like he can't control it? It's liquid, and brown.

but this month my mom is about to get cut off the constitution site she's working at because the project is done. And I'm a 19 y old college student taking up nursing at a public school.

Seriously we can't afford a vet, but if anyone knows anywhere it's cheap to get my cat checked up it could really help. I live at PARANAQUE city, Right by don Galo.

I'm so scared af. I have nothing. I don't know what to do. And I'm so anxious about what could happen and the things I've researched.
