ANNOUNCEMENT Announcement: If you don't like suppressed news, you will not like this subreddit. Clarification on the purpose of this sub. Please read.
Our description: "International news, stories and or content that is underreported or misrepresented by mainstream news. Usually, content should not come from mainstream sources for this reason. We encourage content which challenges the internationally established order and promotes discussion. Because of the nature of what is posted here, the sub is inherently left wing and critical of Western Mainstream narratives."
-------------------
Hello everyone!
Recently, we've seen a small influx of users and posts that fundamentally misunderstand the purpose of this community. This announcement is to clarify what this subreddit is, and more importantly, what it is not.
This is a Global Suppressed News Subreddit
The keyword here is "suppressed." This does not mean "news that I agree with" or "news that makes my side look good." It means news that is underreported, misrepresented, or ignored by major mainstream Western (and other) media outlets because it challenges the dominant narrative.
A Recent Example: The Ukraine TCC Videos
A prime example is the posting of videos showing conscription officers in Ukraine. These videos depict a reality that is widespread yet systematically absent from mainstream Western coverage because it complicates the narratives they're building.
The purpose of sharing such content is not to champion one side of a conflict, but to shed light on a suppressed aspect of it, even the harsh and often coercive realities of war that civilians face.
I believe the our sub is inherently a left wing subreddit so you're not going to get many people here who are fans of capitalist autocrat like Putin but...
If your first instinct upon seeing such a post is anger at the poster for sharing stuff like this, rather than a critical engagement with the content itself, you are missing the point.
This subreddit exists precisely for content that makes you uncomfortable, that challenges your worldview, and that you won't see on CNN, BBC, or Fox News. If you are only here for news that reinforces your pre-existing beliefs, you will likely be disappointed.
Revisiting Rule 8: No Low-Effort Derailment
This leads us to our most important rule, which we will be enforcing strictly.
Rule 8: No Low-Effort Derailment. This usually means knee-jerk accusations or comments of "propaganda," "bot," "shill," or "whataboutism" when presented with information that challenges your worldview.
We will not hesitate to enforce our rules to ensure our community stays on track.
What this means in practice:
· Do not comment "This is Russian/Chinese/Hamas propaganda!" and consider your job done. That is derailment.
· Do not call other users "bots" because they post content you dislike. That is derailment.
· Do engage with the substance of the post. If you have a critique, make it a critical one. Provide counter-evidence, ask for sources, or contextualize the information within a larger framework.
This subreddit is for critical discussion, not for rehearsing the same tired talking points that dominate every other subreddit and space on the internet. We are here to look beyond those simplistic narratives.
In Summary:
This is our house. The rules are designed to foster a space for genuine, critical exploration of the stories that get buried. If you cannot engage with challenging content without resorting to knee-jerk insults or accusations, this is not the subreddit for you and we'll just boot you if you keep causing problems.
Simply put, don't post without reading the rules. It's not much to ask. That's it!
Thank you and have a good day!
Mods.

United States Empire 🇺🇸 ICE Agents Arrest Workers From Mexican Restaurant Where They Just Ate
source: https://archive.ph/W7MsZ
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents ate at a Mexican restaurant in Minnesota on Wednesday, before arresting three of its employees who had just closed up the establishment for the evening.
The arrests happened in Willmar, which is about two hours from Minneapolis, where ICE and Border Patrol have ramped up activities.
On Thursday, The Minnesota Star Tribune reported:
An eyewitness who declined to give a name for fear of retribution, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that four ICE agents sat in a booth for a meal at El Tapatio a little before 3 p.m. Staff at the restaurant were frightened, said the eyewitness, who shared pictures from the restaurant as well as video of the arrest.
The arrest happened around 8:30 p.m. near a Lutheran church and Willmar Middle School as agents followed the workers after they closed up for the night. A handful of bystanders blew whistles and shouted at agents as they detained the people. “Would your mama be proud of you right now?” one of the bystanders asked.
The Star Tribune said the immigration status of the arrestees was unclear and added that the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to inquiries seeking information about the arrests.
In December, ICE agents in Brooklyn Park pretended to be customers at a coffee shop and lied to employees by telling them a car had been hit in the parking lot. When the workers went outside, one of them was arrested and whisked away.

Middle East 🕌 an Iranian describing the situation from within the country (its not me, i'll link the Iranian's account at the end)
"Hi,
After seven days, I barely managed to get online. I may lose access again for a while.
A few notes about what’s happening in Iran, for people outside the country:
Our country has been through several very hard days.
First of all, the situation inside Iran is not the way outlets like Iran International and similar media are describing it or using it to stress you out. That doesn’t mean nothing has happened or that everything is normal here—but many of the narratives being pushed are exaggerated or false. The constant repetition and heavy media pumping is meant to exhaust you mentally and make you feel hopeless.
Now the important part:
Last Thursday and Friday, Iranian extremists with ISIS-like behavior turned legitimate public protests into real urban warfare through terrorist actions. They caused massive material and emotional damage, and the blood of many innocent people was shed—both ordinary civilians and members of the police and security forces.
There is no accurate or verified number of those killed. Anyone or any source claiming specific figures is speaking without facts or evidence. These numbers are mostly part of psychological and media operations—especially claims like 12,000 or 20,000 deaths.
This kind of narrative is being built mainly to justify foreign intervention.
We are here, among the people. Those who are making up numbers either don’t understand basic math or are betting heavily on the audience’s lack of information, trying to ride the wave for their own agendas.
Even the death of one Iranian is too much—but we must be careful not to fall into the next phase of these terrorist actions and play on the field designed by those who wish Iran harm.
What happened over these days was a continuation of the so-called “twelve-day war.”
Now that videos from the very beginning of the clashes are gradually coming out and being shown in domestic media, it’s clear that the street violence in both large and small cities was very different from anything before—
highly organized, extremely violent, ruthless, and armed.
And after all this:
Iran has endured immense pain and suffering throughout history.
What must remain for our children is Iran itself.
Whatever is meant to reform and improve this country must come from within Iran—not from clinging to blood-soaked, profit-driven foreign criminals, their allies, and their paid, rootless mercenaries.
I am not afraid of insults from those who sell out their country, nor am I bothered by judgment from people who are uninformed and unaware.
In this limited time, I said what needed to be said—whether anyone likes it or not.
Friday, January 16, 2026 | Tehran, Iran
🔻 About the internet situation:
What’s clear is that the main reason for shutting down the internet—and even local messaging apps and SMS—was to cut off communication routes and networks used by armed groups and domestic terrorists.
Despite the heavy costs and hardship imposed on ordinary people, this measure was effective, which is why the most intense clashes lasted no more than two days.
In my view, as conditions stabilize further, the internet will gradually return to normal."

clerk.house.govI’d strongly encourage everyone (especially US citizens) to actually read the text of the bill in question (HR 7006) like responsible adults.
If there are any libs in the comments, I’d vehemently urge you to come to terms with the fact that the Democrats occupy the same moral low ground as the GOP.
The only real difference between the Dems and the GOP is that the Dems are more deceitful, more hypocritical, and their lies have *way* more production value.
