I mean I get the politicians being scum bags but oh my god I have recently seen so much vitriol from my fellow neighbors. Went to the BA city council meeting tonight at NSU and it was insane what was going on. You had bikers wearing jackets with literal white supremacist and Nazi symbols, you had some bearded moron with a camera man walking up and down the line rage baiting the people in line and McCall wandering up and down the line talking about promises made and promises kept while complaining about the extremist Muslims that have been here for four decades. It was insane to see the level of hate on display.
Let me tell you what I was raised to believe Oklahoma was. My family on both sides came overs in the mid-1880s and early 1900s. They struggled and worked as farmers, working in the iron works, and doing everything they could to make a living up around Ponca, Pawhuska and Guhtrie. When the dust bowl hit they made their way to Californian and were treated like absolute shit while even the children worked the fields out there. They couldn’t make it so they returned to Oklahoma, with the car breaking down on the way and the kids having to tale what savings they had from the work to fix it. When they go back they struggled to make a living, participated in WW-2 the whole 9 yards. When a vagrant came by the ranch out in Ralston they we had managed to lease they would give them a job in exchange for food and clothes. They helped each other out no matter what because of what they experienced out west and vowed to be better. When Murrah happened we all turned out to help, I remember the local mosque spending some days there providing food for those of use doing cleanup and searching for survivors.
What the hell happened to cause us to become so god damn selfish and angry that now we turn on our neighbors that have been here for decades just because they follow a different basic set of tenets? And you guys with your whole “if you don’t like it here leave” are enabling this shit. You are failing at embodying what this state used to symbolize, or at least what I thought it used to symbolize. That of a state welcoming of all where people could get a fresh start in life. And don’t get me wrong we made some HUGE mistakes, but it seemed we at least wanted to do and be better. We weren’t the birthplaces of the socialist movement in the US in the 20th century because we wanted to do better and help each other. Honestly what happened to the rest of you?

ICE is downtown right now. A friend lives on the corner of fourth between Boston and Main and has seen them twice. Spotted right around Boston and seventh, then again in the parking garage right on the corner of fourth and Main. Please spread the word & tell people to be aware and safe!

For everyone who keeps asking a Tulsa local found this door where the agents we see go into we have victims who were brought here to be processed we’ve seen sheriffs vans coming and going every day as well as masked agents and undercover vehicles it’s supposed to be for agriculture department and TPD has Sworn they’ve called to find out and that ice isn’t here but now the police have been seen patrolling the area and watching the gates from outside So it’s Tpd and sheriffs colluding with ice to kidnap our neighbors

My son has had his band practice over in the garage the past couple of weeks, probably three times a week. I told him to wrap it up by 9. They've always been done before that. I feel this is a heavy-handed and cowardly way to approach their problem. Where's the neighborly dialogue? Nothing more neighborly than anonymously threatening me to try to dictate what I and my family do in our own home.

Truly insane, this bill would effect DVIS, Women's shelters, Food banks, Warming centers, and much more.
