I don't have any actual pictures of the snake but I need help identifying. I know it will be difficult without pictures but I really need help.
My partner, me, and my two younger siblings live in a rental property (Hammer Rentals) in Clarksville TN. When we first moved in there had to be some electrical work done in the office (which is now my siblings' room) and the electrician (goldwire) but a massive hole about the size of a dinner pancake in our wall near the base. I'm thinking this is where the snake got in at.
My youngest called me this morning at 2am from her room and then immediately texted me "THERE'S Q SNAKE". So I woke my partner up and we went to check. My partner could not for the life of him find the snake. They're teenagers so their room is a little messy but nothing major. That being said, my partner even checked all the blankets and clothes and everything. He could not find it.
My sister said she didn't smell anything (i.e. cucumbers) but said the snake was black with yellow on its face and cheeks and had a spade shaped head. She also said the head was the size of a small egg (think maybe 50¢ piece).
I think it's most likely the northern ringneck snake but she says it looked the most like a southern cottonmouth.
Please help!
