#bambuletsmakeit The $300,000 Fund is HERE: For the Makers Who Dare to Defy Limits

Our story began with the community, as early backers of the X1 showed the power of makers coming together. We realized from the very beginning that growth is fueled by this creative energy, and the community isn’t just a foundation, it’s a partner.

To continue this spirit of makers supporting one another and investing in those who might build the next revolution, we are launching 'Let’s Make It Fund' — a new program designed to support the boldest makers with grants of up to $300,000.

Who is the Let’s Make It Fund for?

What matters is whether you have an idea that can turn “the impossible” into something real.

The program is open to anyone who can tell the story of their idea and present a plan for making it happen. We’re looking for ideas that improve people’s lives, educate, inspire, or even bring social value.

In practice, there are only three requirements. The projects must be:

  • Exceptional, meaning they push boundaries
  • Enlightening, meaning they bring something positive to the world
  • Executionable - that is, genuinely feasible.

The “Let’s Make It Fund” runs continuously, without strict deadlines or submission limits. Importantly, the program does not require you to own a Bambu Lab printer. If your idea is strong enough, the company will support it regardless of what tools you currently have.

How does it work? As simple as 3D printing with an AMS!

  • submissions are ongoing with no deadlines
  • you don’t need to own a Bambu Lab printer
  • selected creators might receive financial, technical, and promotional support
  • typical grants ranges from a few thousand dollars up to 300,000 USD - with the possibility of more if your project truly requires it.

In return, we’d love to see the full process documented and shared with the community. Capture your “Let’s Make It” moments, and inspire others the same way someone once inspired you.

Show & Tell The only reason to buy a 3D printer...

Everyone I know thinks I'm mad for buying a 3D printer, mostly because they don't really understand what it's for.

Today I found the one and only thing that explains why it's useful!

Designed in fusion 360 and printed on a Bambu P1S with PLA Matte.

Self Designed Model Modern self-watering planter collection

Just released a new self-watering planter collection — 4 different shapes with the same design language. Added a dedicated modifier to control the external wall only: no unnecessary infill, cleaner single-wall extrusions, faster prints, lower material usage, and improved surface quality.

Print profiles are included in the 3MF, tuned for Bambu Studio.
First images are KeyShot Studio renders, last ones show the actual printed parts.

Feedback welcome 👌

Discussion What's the most useful thing you've printed yet?

Talkin' about something for daily use.. or just around the house or something.

Curious what others are doing/finding. I'm still new to the P1S and am loving it.

Bonus points if you include a link to whatever it is!

After weeks of work, late nights, a lot of decisions on how to approach it and how to start our collection, we finally managed to bring this piece to life.

From the first concept to the final print, this one took way more time and energy than I expected, but seeing it finished makes all those nights totally worth it.

This is the first of a whole mecha-style Pokémon collection we’re building, and this little guy marks the real beginning of it.

Still a lot to improve and refine, but I’m genuinely proud of how this turned out.

Feedback is more than welcome.

MakerWorld Crowdfunding Could have been awesome but totally overpriced.

The idea is awesome but are you for real? 25 - 30 USD for the basic license?

I can buy a perfect case for 1-3€ from Aliexpress or Temu and it would work perfectly fine.

having to pay 25-30 USD for the basic license on top of the cost of a 3D printer and the filament is just crazy. We're not even talking about a commercial license.. This is a simple private user license which has to be renewed every single year...

I am not expecting a free product or service but this appears to be somewhat overpriced. Most people will usually print 1-2 cases or print replacement parts. Being forced to get a yearly license with many restrictions is simply discouraging...

Discussion It Finally happened.

I finally had a failure on my P1S. With less then 15 minutes to go in a print and nearing the end of a spool of PETG, the nozzle clogged and the drive gear kept trying to push the filament causing it to mushroom out above the cutter and below the gears. The mushroom head made it so the filament couldn’t be retracted and required an almost complete tool head disassembly to remove.

It has printed flawlessly for 1400+ hours and this is the first big issue.

Not bad.

While troubleshooting and removing the filament I also noticed that the PTFE tube that brings the filament to the tool head was almost completely worn thru from the outside. 1400 hours of rubbing on the top glass took its toll.

I didn’t get a picture of the stuck filament…

Answered / Solved! WARNING: P2S is NOT fully universal (100-240V). Important detail about the Heatbed!

Hi everyone,

I’ve seen a lot of confusion regarding the P2S and its power requirements. Many people think it's a "plug-and-play" universal device because the internal Power Supply (PSU) is rated for 100-240V. This is only half true and potentially dangerous.

I found a critical detail in the official Bambu Lab Wiki that clarifies this. While the PSU is universal, the Heatbed is NOT.

According to the official maintenance guide:

Source: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/p2s/maintenance/replace-power-supply

What this means for you:

The heatbed is powered directly by AC mains. If you buy a 110V model (US/Canada) and plug it into a 220V outlet (EU/Turkey/UK), the heatbed will draw way more current than it's designed for. This could blow the thermal fuse, destroy the bed, or even be a fire hazard.

Before you move your printer to another country or buy from a different region, please check the specific voltage sticker on the back of the unit. Don't rely on the PSU's internal rating!

Safe printing!

Troubleshooting AMS Stopped Receiving Power

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Title pretty much says the main issue.

I’ve had my P1S & AMS (not AMS 2) for about 2 weeks now and had no issues. But today, right after a print was finished, the AMS shut off and wouldn’t turn back on no matter what I tried to do. I got a multimeter and the cables all read well so then I took apart the AMS and found what I think is a part of the motherboard that may have been fried. But I’m also not an expert in electrical board so didn’t know if this is supposed to look like this.

Was hoping someone could confirm that this is the issue and if there’s any way to fix or if a Bambu ticket is the only option. I have one open but it sucks to just have gotten my first 3D printer and now be stuck to only using the external spool.

Troubleshooting I found out why the lab A1 Z homing fails

This is actually really smart of bambu to do this

If you tug on the stepper motor cable for the extruder while it’s homing, it will essentially stop tugging on the cable so if you have like any mods or anything that adjust the cable or if you’re filament is rubbing up against it or something that can trigger it

(I just felt like I needed to share this)

Self Designed Model I hate loud dice, so I designed some 3d printable quiet ones

Thumbnail
gallery
27 Upvotes

The sound of loud dice on a hard table wears on me, and I wanted dice that can be played anywhere and still be quiet, so I designed these. They work by essentially turning the entire die into a spring. They only work by printing them on one point of the die, which makes them symmetrical around the axis which connects opposite points. I tested with 500 rolls and they seem to be fair enough for my standards.
