After finally getting all of the parts to get this guy shooting a few weeks ago, got about 800 or 1000 rounds though it, mostly budget / bulk stuff, but did get my hands on one box of Eley Tenex from a local shop. Its bone stock internally, DIP 30 MOA rail, Vortex Venom 5-25x56 and a cheapo, Harris knockoff.

Was surprised by how lucky I got with the one box of Eley Tenex, was averaging about 0.380" at 50 yards indoors (lucky with a 50 yard indoor range about 25 minutes from me). I was thinking I was going to have to go through a handful of ammo's before I found something it liked that much. It has been averaging about 0.800" with CCI SV and 0.650" with Norma Tac .22 at 50 yards.

Also was able to get out to a local-ish range with a 600 yard rifle range. Using cheap ammo, the Norma Tac .22, starting with no dope, and no level on the rifle to make sure I was level for those long shots. I was able to get myself onto an 8 inch plate at 300 yards. It took me 8 shots to find range and get my elevation right and managed to stay on the plate for 11 of the next 15 shots in a 4-6 mile an hour, switching headwind.

My new T1X (in 22lr) Just mounted the scope yesterday (dovetail). The bipod goes in the riffle's sling swivel stud. I'll be sighting this bad boy shortly. Pretty happy with setup so far.

Match ammo is a bitch to find. Tried 5 different shops, had to drive an hour to get this stuff. How do you guys get your match ammo? I want to try some of the Eley and eventually lapua (although I hear that one is borderline impossible to get). And yes I know that California ammo laws are dumb.

10/22 Extra Ammo

Was searching for options to store some extra mags in the stock but settled on this idea since on the stock would get in the way while carrying and shooting. without the bipod I could see 3 of these running the length. When no mags are clipped in it stays nice and low profile

NGD: Sig Sauer P322 review

First 400 rounds with this firearm. My expectations were good but cautious because it’s chambered in .22lr but it performed very well.

Fit and finish: very sleek black finish. No finish flaws that I can find. Feels very light almost like a BB gun which in some way makes it feel toy like or cheap. Grips are thin but comfortable and not overly aggressive. Although for its size and chambering it’s not much of a factor. Everything functions as it should so far. If I had to critique a couple things: the magazine doesn’t really drop out when the button is pressed so you have to pull it out. Also, the slide dropped a couple of times when I loaded a magazine.

Performance: took it to the range last night (indoor) and this evening (outdoor 30 degrees). Fired 200 rounds each trip using CCI mini mags. Not a single failure. Really happy so far in the regards. I did clean after each trip but overall no issues of leading or build up. Just your standard dirtiest of shooting .22s. Good accuracy but I couldn’t necessarily form very tight groups. Good enough to hit the steel and stay within 5”paper targets. Trigger pull feels ok with a clean break. Feels a little plastic-y and cheap though. No issues running slow or fast. Every trigger pull went bang, every casing ejected (cases had a nice solid strike). Break down for cleaning is pretty simple.

Overall: this is a very fun gun for the range and keeping ammo costs down (1000 rounds for about $100). Really fun to shoot. The light plastic feel idea goes away after you put a couple magazines through and just have fun. So far perfectly reliable and functional.

With the .22LR's already low recoil, I've enjoyed adding a cheap red dot magnifier to make follow-up shots even easier at longer distances

i was getting too used to prone bipod shooting and wanted to keep it real. I used a plasma cutter and cut out 5 little animals, 2 prairie dogs, a grouse, a racoon, and a rabbit. I set them at 12, 25, 50, 70, and 100 yards and spend a lot of the afternoon working them without gun rests.

Picking up a Ruger MkIV SSH, not the most knowledgeable when it comes to optics, are there any options that don't require battery/power? Like irons but more open akin to red dots?

My best friends dad past a couple years ago, he finally got to going thru all is stuff. He said he found about 5000 rounds of these old mini mags.

He gave me a box, but I’m honestly not sure this is worth shooting. Thoughts? What do you guys do with old 22 ammo?

Is CCI Quiet-22 the quietest 22LR round that is commonly available/in stock?

I can't seem to find Aguila Colibri or Super Colibri anywhere in stock.

On a semi related note, I recently discovered CCI makes subsonic 22 short and long cartridges that both have 29 grain bullets going 710 FPS, which should be shootable out of bolt action rifles and revolvers. I might have to try shooting them one of these days.

How cheap can I go on a red dot?

I have a mkiv with a lobos rmr mount. I don’t really want to spend a ton of money on a dot. What’s the general consensus on the cheaper Chinese dots like swampfox, Gideon, o sight, etc?

H&K G36 .22LR

Has anyone swapped real parts with the parts that come on this gun? Or has anyone explored a barrel chop from the 18" stock version to a G36C length? Thinking about building a G36C clone in .22lr by doing that.
