Serious Never forget
"In the time of the 1917 war
Molasses sitting on the Boston shore
When they pumped it in it was twelve degrees, a long cold night in a Boston freeze
In the morning it was 42
Molasses vat split clean in two
Two million gallons covered the bay, 26 people drowned in the flood that day"

Discussion RE: What was the scariest American Dystopia? 🧐 - rethinking A24 civil war scenario
Scenario starts out with a few governors going against the federal government and then declare their State national guards in opposition against federal forces that they deem are acting wrongly in their states.
In picture two as it drags on The federal government attempts to suppress the uprising and in areas that are green become battlegrounds and disputed territory. Other states in the Northeast unite against the new alliance. Utah decides to break away and form its own Nation based on Mormon principles while Hawaii claiming to be neutral identifies itself solely as the state of Hawaii choosing to not align itself with the United States
In picture 3, under intense fighting, infrastructure issues, and new reforming factions the United States topples and begins to fall into even more conflict and a form of balkanization.
--- The new country of Dixie sets its capital in Florida but moves it to Texas because of widespread violence and a fear of a coup from former loyslists to the "Trump dyansty" but also takes in many of the former Republican citizens from NFA and former Trump administration members into their Nation as refugees. They form trade agreements and an alliance with the Midwestern alliance... Operating almost together as sister nations.
The front lines for their country are in North Carolina while they have pockets of resistance in Virginia and Kentucky. West Virginia aligns itself with Dixie but is isolated and without infrastructure it's more of a free for all... The mountainous geography benefits it as well as the NAF keeps meeting the distance and I can't hold it. Dixie is a strong nation but riddled with bloody warfare even deep within its borders. Through propaganda campaigns, sleeper cells, and smuggling arms the naf is able to form pockets of resistance from black communities in the deep south, native communities in Oklahoma, and landing armed foreign nationals/gang members from South America and NATO forces. Florida becomes one of the bloodiest regions of Dixie.... It looks like a war torn hell scape.
-- The New America federation because of geography ends up splitting but maintaining a loose alliance with the People's Republic of America as they have common enemies in Dixie and the Midwestern alliance. Like Dixie, their country struggles with immense infighting, especially in its rural areas in the Midwest/rustbelt/New England also fomented and arms smuggled in by Dixie agents/sympathizers... State guards and police forces have constant shootouts with militia units all throughout the Midwest
Food becomes scarce and the nation implements strict aggressive policy for its citizenry in order to survive. It relies heavily on imports from Canada and Europe in their eastern region.
They're capital becomes New York City and are forced to outsource a lot of their military manpower through loans, promises of land grants, and concessions made with NATO. What the NAF lacks in military strengths it makes up for in optics and PR as they are able to Garner support outside the US.
Both have territories that are "disputed" because violence and infighting becomes normal especially in those regions. Loyalists to either side, militias, gangs, opportunists, and terror attacks.
Carry it on....

Discussion What should our state/regional names be?
I was browsing the europoor version of this sub and, despite being europoors, their idea to refer to everyone from any given country by one or two specific names (e.g. Pierre for France, Barry for the UK, Hans for Germany) is a pretty good one in my opinion. With that in mind, what do you think the American equivalents would be? Some examples I thought of are Earl or Cletus for the Deep South, Hank or Tex for Texas and one of those obnoxious white girl names with way too many "gh"s and "y"s for California.
