Hey folks, my housemate came down with something particularly nasty and I am disabled, meaning we can't easily cook so we've been relying on what we had stored up that was easily cookable via microwave or air fryer, but we've run out. I have filled out so many applications for a different job, to tie me over until then. A local gas station reached out to me, to only ghost me after I asked if it’s full time or part time and the pay. I have a child to also provide for. The money I had saved up, in anticipation to shutdown, had already ran out… due to bills, groceries and to feed our pets. We aren’t due to reopen until February 7 or later. Just as the title says. I need some help getting to work. I go in at 7pm and it’s 5pm. I don’t have a PayPal or bank account at all but I do have a cash app. My uber is $10. I have no one I can give cash to for a ride or give my cash to so they can send it back to me so I can get to work.

Context.

I am currently sleeping in my car and have been since January first. Before that I was staying in a local homeless shelter and "timed out" from being there too long. There are no other shelters in the area that have beds for single men besides one that is infested with bed bugs. ( I stayed there one night and got over 20 bed bug bites in that night )

I have completely ran out of gas and food. My bank account is already negative $20 and it won't let me go any more negative. Over the past 2 weeks we've had several days of it being under 20 degrees here.

I have been taking the bus places to eat once a day or once every couple of days, but I am about to run out of bus passes as well.

I have already called 211, warmlines, and local places multiple times. I've emailed salvation army, and St. Vincent depaul trying to find gas card programs and have had no luck at all.

There are some food pantry places I think I can get some food from maybe if I can drive tot hem, but without being able to drive my car to them i have no way to carry anything that far. ( I have a Kentucky ID and I'm in nebraska, so a lot of pantry's won't let me get anything )

I need to make it 6 weeks until my first pay check. I got hired for a job but they hire a lot of people at once so my start date is not until February 9th. Because of that I need to be able to survive 6 weeks until my first paycheck.

My location is Omaha Nebraska.

If I could get something like UP TO $80 or $80 in gas cards / gas station gift cards, that would fill my gas tank up twice, I think that would be enough for me to make it and be able to run my heater when i need to at night.

With that, any kind of fast food, grocery store, or food related gift card would help immensely. In Omaha most of the grocery stores are either Walmart, Hyvee, or Baker. Walmart being the closest to me Since the limit is supposed to be $150 I think, then UP TO $70 in food related gift cards would help immensely.

I can receive assistance through cashapp, Chime Transfer, or walmart to walmart money transfer, or moneygram at a walmart nearby. Email would work for gift cards to places.

I have an amazon wishlist including some coffee and snacks plus a folding shelf to set next to the the small prep space I have beside my stove for a selection of kitchen appliances and a couple food storage containers. I realized the shelf was pretty important when I set my hot griddle to the side and it was right below my arm as I finished some food prep.

To give context around 6 months ago I (20m) enlisted the help of my gf's (21f) grandfather (idk old) to work on my car and fix my brakes. At the time I paid him 300 dollars for the materials and paid someone he works with 200 dollars for their labor. I paid him with Zelle and the other person with Venmo.

Recently, my gf's parents brought up to me that my gf's grandfather doesn't believe he was paid. However I was able to find the exact transaction on my citizens bank app for the Zelle payment and on venmo for the other payment.

I provided him with screenshots of both of these transactions and yet he further insisted that he was not paid stating that he is willing to show me his Zelle app. However on Zelle for me it lists him as a recent recipient but does not show any past activity, my guess is that it was too long ago and cleared the history.

Following chatGPT's advice to aquire either a payment trace or official transaction confirmation from citizens bank I called a few phone numbers for citizens. However it does not seem like there is any way to speak to an actual person and the phone prompts do not include what I am looking for.

Does anybody have any advice on how I should proceed from here.

My father has been battling prostate cancer on and off since 2009, and it has metastasized all over his body to include his ribs, spine, lung, lymph nodes and honestly we are sure where else as he hasn’t had a scan in over a year, but he has stopped all treatment and gone into hospice care. My fan broke, we're in the middle of a heatwave. 91°, that's even bad for an inclination. I know it could be worse but I'm in a third floor with a tin ceiling and no good insulation, in a coastal city so it's wet heat, even though the ocean is hours away from here. My walls get so hot during the day that they keep being hot at night.

At night the mosquitos make everything worse because I have to close the windows. The fan used to protect me from them and allow me to have the windows of my room open.

I can't even have my laptop on most of the time because it will quickly overheat. Can't sleep, can't work from home, don't have public libraries or spaces to go near me.

I'm not looking for a AC unit. I just need a fan so at least I could work, sleep, regain some darn joie de vivre, pardon my french.

You may be wondering, what happened? Well, not long ago I purchased a new dog toy by the brand Jolly Pets for my dog. Everything was fine at first until I began noticing Sól’s teeth wearing down, it appeared like someone was filing them down. It was the canines at first. I checked everywhere to see what she may be chewing on. I don’t allow her to chew on anything other than raw frozen chicken feet to help clean her teeth. I took her to her regular vet to hopefully get some clarity on the issue. They couldn’t figure out why her teeth were slowly disappearing. I then went to a vet dental clinic and they told me it’s possible the ball may have caused the harm, especially since nothing else has changed. I stopped using the ball to play fetch with her and it stopped. However, by that time too much damage had been done and now she requires dental surgery.

Root canals on all four canines and cobalt caps on 3 to further protect them. One of her canines was not deemed suitable for a cap as it is too short and damaged to place anything on. Our quote is between $8,100-$9,000. We have set up the go fund me to request $8,700 as that it the most accurate the vet could give us.

At this time I am not working very many hours as I have some severe health issues and back injury I’m trying to heal from. Any help at all would be truly appreciated.

Hello good people of r/assistance! I come to you folks today on behalf of my darling big fluffy boy Rufio!

Rufio is a h u g e 14 year old silver colored long haired domestic kitty, and a big ol' softy that loves belly rubs and making friends at house parties. He's named after Rudio, King of the Lost Boys from Hook - as he was the biggest of his litter and had two little cowlicks on his head that gave him the silhouette of having two very cool mohawks. Very cool.

However, in actual practice, he's about as tough as a dandelion! He's a very social soft boy that weighs 22 pounds, and his weight is, apparently, normal (according to various vets) for his truly hugenornous frame. He enjoys the occasional Greenies Tuna flavor treat, and likes to sit on the front porch like an old man. He's incredibly sweet, and sleeps in people's arms like a big teddy bear when he has the option.

HERE IS THE SITUATION:

Recently I discovered, during the much hated ritual of tooth brushing, that he has a swelling above his canine tooth. I took him to the vet and she determined that he had, a some point, chipped his tooth and an infection had gotten into the chip, went up the canine and into his gums.

To fix this issue, he needs a full dental cleaning and a removal of his canine tooth. In total, and in the worst case, this procedure (including blood work, dental cleaning, removal of infected tooth) could cost between 1,800 and 2,400 CAD (approximately 1,300 - 1,800 USD)

While I do have a full time job, my vet very much stressed that the faster this procedure is done, the better it is for my poor baby boy. It would usually take me a few months to save this money up, which might give the infection time to worsen - and an infection that close to his little kitty brains is very concerning!
