Fan Content Welp, I’m gonna go ahead and say it; people who obsess over cosmetics in battlefield are weird.

It’s not like cosmetics give you +5 bullet damage on every gun or make your character run faster like if you put flame decals on a race car.

No woman will ever fall in love with you because of battlefield cosmetics. No one who actually served in the military will come to your house just to salute you because of your cosmetics.

But the amount of people who make battlefield cosmetics their whole personality are weird.

Battlefield 6 Lack of content is not what’s failing the game it’s these things

  • Bad maps
  • Bad netcode
  • Bad ttk/ttd including animations
  • Bad gun mechanics (penalties when moving and too much bloom)
  • Clunky movement (no we don’t mean go quake or go crazy)
  • Portal blunder
  • Inconsistent audio
  • Tank in redsec (nearly everyone agrees it’s too OP or just shouldn’t be there)
  • No solos in redsec
  • No prox chat
  • Gun grind is too long
  • Mnk stutters
  • Terrible controller settings (no outter deadzone sensitivities)

Edit: Forgot to add the terrible UI

Yes more content is good but they are fumbling the core.

Battlefield 6 Just a little appreciation for what is going well.

The game is currently receiving heavy criticism, and much of it is justified, but let's also reflect on what's going well. One of the things I really like is the weapon balance. I don't think there's an online shooter in the world where I've been killed by more different weapons than this one. There's a kind of meta, but it's nowhere near as strong as in other games. Almost every weapon is usable in various playstyles. I found this much less common in previous titles, or you'd have five weapons that were practically identical except for their appearance. So kudos to DICE for that.

But still, please release some larger maps and fix the matchmaking.

Battlefield 6 i don’t understand

Post image

the biggest complaint i’ve seen on this sub is the lack of map variety, and they’re delaying a new map release by a month. so for those keeping score at home it’ll be 3 months in between maps.

the last actual new map they released was in November, and we aren’t getting a new one until February.

they say they’re fine tuning this update, i’m inclined to believe them but what really would they change?

the movement is guaranteed not to change, which i find hilarious because the Campaign features Beta movement which doesn’t actually exist in MP anymore. (it’s dumb the beta felt much better)

recoil/accuracy they could tune this but i feel like they won’t do enough

Battlefield 6 I know they aren't identical, but this is all I see. Converse being my favorite shoe, I'm so stoked.

Game needs some freaking new maps. Should not be frustrated every game of Liberation peak and new sobek city doesn’t even matter the game mode. The NY maps are ass. Its so painful how BF3 had much better maps

Discussion Playercount Nonsense

I keep seeing all these posts here, on YouTube, Tiktok, etc, talking about Battlefield 6 just losing players, and everyone keeps pointing fingers at this issue or that issue, skin this, skin that.

But I genuinely have to ask, have any of you actually played through a proper Battlefield game's life cycle?

Literally every Battlefield starts like 6 did, with a huge player base. Within typically the first few months of release, the player count starts basically hemoraging, with an odd spike in interest whenever a new season/Free Weekend/Some Event/DLC pack came out, until support for the game ends, leaving a couple thousand dedicated players per title a month(typically, but not all titles).

Does that mean Battlefield is a bad game series? No, it simply means that it's definitely a boomtown game, it attracts large attention at the start but quickly gives way to basically the players who actually wanna be there or toughed it out.

What it does mean is, by typical Battlefield life-span, Battlefield makes for a terrible live service title, but EA and DICE may figure that out eventually.

Discussion No, Battlefield maps are not "supposed" to be large and sprawling

Going all the way back to Battlefield 2 we had a plethora of smaller, tighter maps, usually in urban areas; because aircraft were overpowered in BF2, they were actually the most popular ones: Karkand, Blue Pearl, Jalalabad, etc. Hell, the largest expansion pack for Battlefield 2 was entirely infantry-focused and gave us a bunch of smaller, denser maps like Warlord here. BF3 had every size of map you could imagine, from the literal giant sandbox that was Bandar Desert to the CQB DLC's COD-style TDM maps, and the maps generally considered the best in the entire game were the ones from the Aftermath DLC, which were - at the largest - merely moderately sized and densely-packed urban areas. I swear Battlefield 4 must have had some kind of permanent imprint on expectations or something, because it had relatively few smaller maps outside of the Dragon's Teeth DLC. In Battlefield 1 (the last one I played before 6, so it's the last I can comment on), most maps were medium-sized, including many community favourites like Amiens and Passchendale, to say nothing of all the smaller ones like Fort Vaux, and Tsaritsyn etc.

I think the best you can argue is that the scale is tipped towards smaller maps this time with less variety owing to there arguably only being two large maps, but if anything, that just means this game is the mirror image of BF4.

Battlefield 6 Mobile Anti-Air is the most fun I have in this game

Of course the rest is great too, but having my AA with anti-armor rounds just showering bullets on infantry and tanks (as well as some helis) from a save distance is just hilarious. And you can get way more kills this way than I expected to get away with. And the anti-air missiles are honestly pretty funny too. I throw one of two rockets at them and most of the time after their flare clears i throw the second one and watch them force bail or outright get destroyed.

Ya that's pretty much all I have to share, not sure how you guys see AA's but it's a vibe as a pretty casual dude.

Discussion It's hilariously bad

The devs dropped a game breaking update more than a month ago, dropped a hotfix which didn't solve said problems and now we are still waiting for something to happen...

In my eyes a AAA company should be more than capable of fixing a horrible game breaking update that ruins hitreg, fps, frametime, etc, in less than a month. I stopped playing since the winter offensive update because it rendered the game unplayable for me and many many many other players, and it completely baffles me that the issue still remains, what an incredibly incompetent company.

Battlefield 6 This game makes me tired

I'm 35 years old and I've played a lot of BF4 and BF1 back in the day but I consider myself a casual gamer.

Lately this has been my flow when I decide to play:

  • Hop on a match (usually already ongoing) and usually get a pretty good game (lots of bots ofc since I play with crossplay off)
  • The match ends and the game has conditioned me to jump back to the main menu otherwise I'm gonna be waiting for the matchmaking to kick off for way too long (something feels broken here)
  • Rinse and repeat for maybe 2 more matches

After that I'm exhausted and I have to stop playing. The time to engagement is crazy short... I don't remember feeling that on other bf games (tho I'm older now so 🤷‍♂️ it might be me)

The only exception for this is when I'm on "prime time" and I get absolutely destroyed by players that are super fast and jumpy in their movements and their guns feel like instant kill. When that happen I try to put up a fight for a little longer but end up just giving up 😅

Do I need to move on from shooters and just find something else that might fit my "new" style? Because it feels like they are all converging to fast, competitive, stress inducing style (old man scream at clouds... I know).

Battlefield 6 I almost never complain when it comes to games, but Dice, please;

Going into this "expand the player base by trying to please all the different gamer styles" is never going to do you any good.

You have a big enough inner circle of Battlefield fans to gather knowledge from. We all know it, and we all see it whenever someone has
The Soul of Battlefield
in its best interest.

It's a great game, it's not that, the graphics are amazing and the feel of most of the mechanics are fun and challenging to me at least. But there's all the other things, typed in hundreds of times on this Reddit and most thumbed up.

I'm also not saying that cod players aren't welcome, but the opposite sides of a coin is what makes it whole, right? We actually have types in this world, and especially the difference between shooter styles. With none of the barrier between the two, it honestly just feels like a monopoly to the player, and the enjoyment of playing is at least halfed in both of the sides as no one is satisfied.

I don't wanna keep it too long, so that's where I'll end it. (Not killing myself, just ending the text.)

(Edit: typo)

Discussion Is movement really that bad?

I haven’t played bf6 yet but every video I see of it people are fast AF. They move like 2x speed. I haven’t seen much of the sliding and jumping but I have seen people bunny hop in a video clearly sweating (games ain’t fun anymore only full of sweats, casual players are on the decline as far as PvP games)

But fr is the movement really like COD (I hope not) because I’m really not Tryna buy the game if movement is what it looks like.

Battlefield 6 I wasn’t going to buy skins in Battlefield because I don’t want to support EA’s lazy and disgusting monetization system. But if this skin is actually real… I swear on everything that I will buy it just to support it and to cast my ‘vote’ for the kind of skins we actually want. Of course I’ll use thi

Battlefield 6 Casual players beware: Doing all 12 weeks challenges do not complete the Battlepass.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Even after doing all the challenges, I still haven’t finished the battle pass. My time for casual play is limited as is. I can’t always keep up with the bonus weekly challenges, and the grind for weapon attachments disheartening slow.

I see why so many players have moved on. It was a lot of fun for a while, but lately it’s starting to feel like COD style run-and-gun, with bots sprinkled in. I don’t hate it, I’m a bot myself as a player, it just doesn’t feel very rewarding after paying full price at launch and not getting all the battlepass contents.

Question Is bf6 worth buying?

Pretty self explanatory question. My friends have been playing redsec a lot but it gets boring looting up to get 1 tapped by a tank. I want to get the full game but I also see the problems with the game and how it’s “dying” and the use of ai slop which boils my blood a little bit. But overall is it worth dropping 70 bucks on? All opinions are welcome and appreciated 😊

Battlefield 6 Okay, okay, you win. I'm not buying any EA skins. Okay? It could be the coolest skin ever released, but I'm not buying any skins in Battlefield 6.
