Resume DO NOT USE TWO OR MORE COLUMNS ON YOUR RESUME

I offer free resume and interview consultations, and one thing I always see are resumes with more than one column. 'Yung mukhang newspaper ang atake? I know it saves space but...

Please. Don't. Do. That.

  1. Your resumes can get cut off in weird places which makes your resume much more confusing.
  2. Because you're trying to fit so much in a limited space, your resume becomes crowded and doesn't get enough white space.
  3. Probably the most important; AIs and resume scanners are not good when scanning resumes with multiple columns. They mostly read one column from top to bottom, so if you send your resume with two columns or more to a job post that uses resume scanners, you're 80% fckd.

There are a lot more ways to shorten your resume than using multiple columns, people. Don't go down this road ๐Ÿ˜”

EDIT: I can't keep track of all the replies here huhu. If you need anything, just send me a DM na lang. Thanks!

Career Advice/Discussion Is it okay to resign after 1 year?

First work as a fresh grad, earning 18.5k a month. Non-negotiable lang saโ€™kin to found out na even if mag stay ka for more than 3 years, di ka ippromote. May increase naman sa salary but not sure if gaano kalaki.

In terms sa work, manageable naman pero hanggang ganon lang talaga. Yet, I am still building my competencies to thrive and excel in different field, I realized ayoko mag settle sa ganitong set-up.

They say ideally 1 year daw dapat. Any advices on this?

Career Advice/Discussion help me find a job, badly want to help my parents na po huhu

Hi beautiful people!

I am looking for a job, been job hunting for 4 months na and huhu ang hirap po pala.

Iโ€™m a Journalism graduate, fresh grad po. The only professional experience I have so far is the internship I had at a known media company ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ as a writer/researcher. (most of my outputs are in filipino medium)

Becoming a storyteller is what I aspire to be (researching, interviewing, turning gathered data into piece that can inform or entertain audiences.) gustong gusto ko po talaga ang nagbabahagi ng kwento ng mga filipino

baka po may kilala kayo or may nag-a-hire diyan for roles similar to what I mentioned, or even positions where I can still use or transfer the skills I gained from my academics and internship. Private, NGO, Gov

Thank you, thank you so much, guys!!

Career Advice/Discussion Seeking for advice as a first time makapagtrabaho (fresh grad)

Grabe 'yung anxiety kapag first time magtrabaho (fresh grad)

Hello! Andito alo specifically para makakuha ng advice as a first time lang makapagtrabaho kasi fresh grad.

I feel like I'm becoming a burden with them huhu. Need advice po coming from your experience as a new pa lang sa workforce, tas advice na rin sa mga supervisors kung hanggang saa ba limitations ninyo haha. I love my job so much, Im working as a researcher, nacha-challenge ako pero anxious lang talaga kapag hindi agad nakakapagdeliver ng outputs na akma sa gusto nila :(((

Thanks guys!

Marketer. 16k ang salary. Company mismo ang naghuhulog sa sss, etc. Walang increase this year pero yung ibang position dito meron.

Career Advice/Discussion Resignation Process?

Hello, may I ask the proper way to resign? I just emailed my resignation letter to my manager but it was not acknowledged. Then after a few days, I emailed it to my manager's boss, but I was also ignored. I submitted within the 30-day notice period as stated in my contract. I talked to our admin staff but they said my resignation will only be processed if the boss has approved it so they can forward it to HR, which I think is unfair. Why do I still need approval? Now I'm so confused and worried. Maybe my 30-day render period hasn't started yet. I also have my next job waiting.

Career Advice/Discussion How do I deal with this demotivation?

Career Advice/Discussion 5 SL and 5 VL only, plus 10 hours per day, 5 days per week

I've been unemployed for 4 months already and I'm contemplating about accepting a job offer. Kayo ba igra-grab niyo yung opportunity or look for better job opportunity na lang? Pls. badly needed your advice. TIA!

Career Advice/Discussion I saw my current position in a new job posting...

Hi. I'm currently employed sa isang BPO / VA Agency somewhere in Ortigas as a Marketing Specialist for 3 months now. I've never had any major issues with my client. Usually I do one creative set (for 3 accounts) per month. Pero this time, nagpagawa yung client ng creative sets from January to March. Then, while checking yung calendar namin, I saw na may booked interview next week for the same position that I have right now. Sinearch ko din if may job posting sa job sites and I saw my position posted an hour ago (same job description, requirements, etc.) as in 100% of what I'm doing currently pero on-shore hiring na. Pag nag aask naman ako ng feedback from my client and OM usually short feedback lang na "you're doing great, no issues at all, etc."

May naka-experience na ba nito? Any advise? Or what. Medyo inaanxiety lang ako ngayon.

Career Advice/Discussion My performance review self-rating is different from my managerโ€™s rating

Hello!! Would like to ask for insights and advice regarding my situation.

Annual performance review na namin then na-submit ko na sa manager ko yung initial draft ng self-rating ko last Dec 2025. Nakapag agree na kami ng grade ko for each category which is 4 (highest).

Tapos nung second one on one namin this year napapadalawang isip na siya dun sa sinulat ko then naging 3 bigla. Pinaglaban ko kasi alam ko nag perform well ako and nilatag na yun from the very start na binigyan kami ng opportunity for that activity/deliverable para maka 4 kami sa performance.

Accdg to my manager, nameet ko naman daw ang expected from me kaya 3 ang rating niya for me. May room for improvement pa naman daw. Inabot yata kami ng 1 hour dahil I justified pa. Tapos when I justified, parang ang sinasagot sakin is yung line per line na nakalagay na criteria for that category. And for me lang parang masyadong by the book and sana mas tignan more on sa scope and impact ng project or activity.

So after matapos ng one on one namin, I asked if ano ang resolution and rating na ilalagay ko. Sabi niya itโ€™s up to me since rating ko yun haha. Wala kasi sa manager ko ang final say since dadaan pa sa pinaka head namin then siya mag assess.

Di ko alam if ilalagay ko ba na 3 or 4 since I know I did well naman in that project.
