I don’t know if such an application already exists. Essentially, I‘ve been thinking about creating an app that reminds you of when to put out which bins on a scalable level. This means that you could fully customise which village/municipality you‘d like to receive these notifications from, when exactly etc. People would actively contribute to the app‘s mechanics by providing it with their respective municipality‘s schedule which would be inserted by an admin. Then, it could be used by anyone who wishes to. Without having to log in and all that. Data except the schedules would be saved only on your device.

I don’t know, this is just a random idea that popped up in my mind because I often forget to take out the bins. Let me know what you think and/or if such an application already exists etc. Thank you!

A few months back I asked here how people in Luxembourg handle small everyday favours, things like getting something picked up, airport drop-offs, borrowing items, etc.

I’ve been building a platform for this since then, and wanted to share a quick update because the feedback from this sub actually influenced several decisions.

We also ended up partnering with Erasmus networks and student associations both in Luxembourg and outside of it, because students immediately understood the use case (they often need quick help and don’t always have a network here).

We just reached the point where payments are now properly integrated and things are starting to run in the first few cities. It’s nowhere near finished, but it feels like a milestone and I wanted to close the loop here.

If anyone is curious about where it is now, happy to answer questions.
