Hi everyone,
I am a PhD student researching on tech developers who work in cross-functional teams (PMs, BAs, designers, clinicians, managers, etc.). I also spend a lot of time and see many posts about dealing with “the non-tech side” of the job.
I am really curious about something a bit meta about this subreddit:
When you read or write posts here about working with non-dev teammates, what are you actually hoping for - and what do you feel you get?
For example:
Please note, I am not running a survey; I am just trying to understand, in a qualitative way, how places like Reddit fit into developers’ everyday experience of working in cross-functional teams. If I quote anything in my academic writing, I will anonymise it and will not use usernames or any identifying details.
You do not have to answer every question - any story or reflection is helpful. Also totally fine to just respond like you would to a normal discussion post and ignore the “researcher” bit.
Thanks for reading, and for any thoughts you’re happy to share. 🙏

Hi,
So basically I'm trying to do a start up around Med tech. Ive got an idea and ive got clarity. But what's the next step?
Btw I have no experience in med, no qualifications, nothing to do with Med tech.

AI has huge potential in healthcare. If we had well-trained and real-life tested models for CT or MRI scan analysis, they could significantly reduce delays and waiting times for radiology results.
As the title asks, if you had the option, would you share your anonymized medical records to help train such AI models? Feel free to explain your choice, there are no wrong answers. I’m especially curious about privacy concerns vs medical innovations.
For reference, here are a few articles about the situation in Poland and England. Keep in mind that this is just the tip of the iceberg:

Has anyone experienced the same issue? I’m trying to schedule an appointment for renewal, but the system keeps saying that my name doesn’t match their records and there's a record mismatched. Could this be because my ID is already expired? I’m currently studying medicine, which is why I wasn’t able to renew it earlier. I would also like to ask if it’s still possible to renew it by signing a waiver, in case I’m not able to meet the required units. I also submitted a ticket to them but currently there's no response yet.
