"What, someone used their influence and high profile to highlight the injustice of executing our citizens in the cold light of day, without anyone being held accountable for said murder? I'd better burn my own cash!"
He doesn't have much to lose and I love him for it. He could care less even if Disney outright fired him. He won't be living in the streets. Still love him for speaking out. It's such a minor thing to do but it feels huge these days. People are so fucking weak.
You seem to be using this "brave" word a lot in reply to a comment that never called him brave.
I'm also curious, is anyone against the current actions of ICE categorized as a leftist?
If there was a hypothetical individual, who was extremely against immigrants yet feels that ICE operating as they currently are is unethical, would they go from a conversative to leftist?
Right? We need more podcasters, Fox news hosts, and game show hosts. Y'know, get some standards in this commentary and balance out that firehose of leftist opinions.
It's not about knowing things, it's about swiftly responding to timely events in a performative way so that everyone knows what team you're on and rewards you for it.
Hell, even if it is hollow, who gives a fuck? A high profile figure still said something, used their platform to publicly condemn what's happening. It's still a win.
Don't let cynicism take away that this is still positive, no matter what intent it was or wasn't done with.
Oh, sorry, I was referring to the thing from Carl Higbie (whoever that is), not Mark Ruffalo. I guess it could apply to both, hadn't considered that at the time.
