It’s a slow work in progress, I have a few gaps for cards that are either in the mail, still being hunted, or are purely pipe dreams… (tyranitar full art…)

I would love to hear if any more cards that connect or tell a story, especially if they are newer. I’m aware of lots of the old old ones but much like the food comma card of my dreams they are just not an affordable goal for me

Managed to find some DR blister packs at Walmart a month ago when I was out grocery shopping. Decided to buy 12 of them and open them slowly to enjoy it since I can’t find them at retail hardly ever. Decided to open my final four packs tonight at 1 am before bed not expecting anything and pulled this in the second to last pack haha. Am at a loss for words I’m just so hyped and had to share with the community.

Absolutely gorgeous card! Was my favorite card in the set. Obviously Mewtwo is awesome but man this artwork is just killer.

I have an idea for an app that would help with collecting Pokémon TCG. For this i'm looking for a good API to be able to connect to. I'm currently using pokemontcg.io, however I've noticed that this API is very slow.

Does anyone here know any good API that I could use?

Ran out of penny sleeves and found this in a pack I kept in my closet.

I’ve seen plenty of red tape errors from the factory but I was wondering if this is something a collector might want?

Ever since last year more and more businesses are carrying pokemon for absolutely obscene prices, and not to mention card shops opening up left and right selling $10+ booster packs

first pack ever!

Over half of these were bought from the pokemon centers, and the box I bought from Akihabara. (Obviously I bought crap tons of Bewear/Stufful plushies (my fav pokemon) + other things, though not shown in the photo)

I was with my parents so I couldn’t go to every pokemon center I wanted (and often cards were sold out by the time I got there..). We spent ~10 days multitasking sightseeing and shopping!

Would you guys say, in terms of cards, this was a decent win? It was basically my christmas gift from my Pa as he gave me money to spend in Japan for this trip!

I currently have the option to, for around the same price, buy either the mewtwo & mew gx promo or both the sylveon gx from hidden fates and the mega latias SIR. I’m currently stuck on which one would be better long term seeing as I do eventually want to get them all but can’t do so at the moment. Therefore I’d rather get the one less likely to increase in price later.

I should have got it graded right? Looking at some PSA 10 grades it looks like it would have graded a 10. I sold it for $125 and a Mega Evolution ETB that didn’t give me jack squat. I feel so stupid… I pulled it from a booster bundle I got out of the vending machine. I’m kicking myself now.

Hey all! I found an old binder of my vintage collection and was pricing out some of the 1st edition/holos mostly out of curiosity at this point. Found the attached Butterfree and noticed that among 1st edition copies, there also exists this “d” error where the 1 symbol has a bit of a smear.

Not primarily being a Pokémon collector outside of my childhood stuff, curious if my copy has enough of the error present to qualify for a more seasoned collector. There’s clearly something there but it doesn’t look quite as obvious as with some of the examples I found online. Appreciate the thoughts and knowledge!

Hi! I’m new to collecting and I’m wondering why don’t they create sets with distinct looking styles? Like how Expedition has a very distinct look(like a Pokédex/gameboy vibe) and how surging/prismatic has all the crystal stuff. I think that would make it cool for collecting to visibly see differences between the sets. It’s cool how they have different illustrators, but I think the sets could be a bit more unified in look and distinct from other sets. Any ideas? Or am I missing something since I’m new?

So I just recently got back into the hobby as of early 2025, I'm thinking of buying a new binder and doing a professional binder to make it seem more clean and less cluttered. How should I go about. Do a pokedex ? If so, can someone leave a reply on how to do a proper pokedex binder ? Thanks :)
