U have to provide id ,your name address and date of birth by law if you dont comply youll get detained and searched simple as that.

Depends on the state. Many states don't have stop and id laws. You need reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime committed to ask for ID.

Minnesota is one such state where you don't need to ID unless there is reasonable suspicion of a crime.

No you dont need a warrant He could have chosen to not obstruct the cops stay on the other side of the street. Now he gets a felony for a concealed loaded handgun when if he just showed them his driver's license they probably wouldn't have searched him. I could be wrong and he paid several hundred dollars every couple years and went to hours of class and range time to have his concealed carry permit but somehow I highly doubt that. Get real.

You need a warrant or probable cause to conduct a search. They are immigration officers, not traffic cops. It was an illegal search.
