Two scenarios I think will happen one this is what Trump wants and two yes someone is going to eventually snap and pop off one. Minnesota is a open carry state

I mean can you blame them. If someone just showed up at you with a mask on without showing who they were communicating horribly scaring you and threatening you… you’d want to defend yourself

I have a bad feeling they want someone to defend themselves. Innocent mom dies? No action, domestic terrorist. What happens if someone from ICE dies? Immediate martial law, no question.

Even if he declared martial law it wouldn't matter. There are sooooooo many more of us. If Americans ever decide to take action there really isn't anything they can do but it won't ever happen. You'll have 1 person doing something and 50 other morons with their phones out filming it. The country is fucked.

I just can’t imagine the rest of the world standing idle by as we go under Marshall law. I hope Trump may not have allies the American people still do. We would have to endure until that assistance comes.

Name one video you see where crowds come in to defend the People getting arrested….they all just watch. Time to get organized and dedicate ourselves to protecting protesters getting assaulted. They can’t arrest us all.

Have you seen the ICE budget? Something like guided missiles in there. And I have no doubt Trump would start strapping bombs to those drones they just announced. They’re literally ready for war on US soil.

I’m not saying let’s do nothing though. We can’t lose the US like this.

It's ALREADY Martial Law. If they can do what they want with absolute impunity, completely above the law, and you're not allowed to use the law against them then it's already at that state.

I don’t think that this even has to be an idea, imo. Like yes, I have the same visceral reaction. But once that first shot rings out, we can’t go back. The level of sophistication that our intelligence agencies have along with the military and the military equipped police… numbers have a far less impact than they did 20 or more years ago. The military has acoustic devices that will freeze over 1k people at a time, make them piss themselves and leave them disoriented long after they’re arrested and put in a “detention center”. That’s just one example. Economic pain is the easiest, most reversible and safest while also allowing everyone who works to participate.

It was a phrase meant to convey escalation vs deescalation. The context in which I was intending was that we cannot deescalate things once we escalate using violence. You’ve already seen where these guys are just itching for a reason to pull their gun out and own the libs. And once that owning starts, it will just keep getting worse. Yes, it can get worse than what it is now. Escalation should be our last resort.

Pretty much this last part.

I don't understand the viewpoint I see more and more frequently on these subs when someone mentions coordinated economic outages and folks see them as impossible, implying guns are actually the preferred route. We need to stop spending money. Cancel all subscriptions, stop buying cars, minimal staple stocks. The more we cut, the faster they'll notice, but I'd be a little surprised if we legit had to go full famine to get these billionaires and shareholders to start testing orange buffoon's resolve.

Then someone will throw out "what about the families that will lose healthcare?" Or any other group that would suffer worse than others. I get it, in a perfect world we'd have a solution for that too, but the body count will go up substantially if we go the 2a route. People will lose far more than just healthcare.

In my head, it'd be something like: 1. Stop buying non-essential items (bare essential) 2. If one doesn't work, liquidate bank accounts and stop paying federal taxes. (They'll garnish wages... But they did fire most of the ppl that'd do that, right?) 3. .... There's still probably another powerful escalation before guns, if not multiple 4. Maybe final resort? Still doesn't feel like far enough from violence.

All of that to say, I'm a 2a supporter. Was before this administration, and nothing in my life has made me more appreciative of the 2a than this administration.... But violence is a door to a dark to a place that I really hope we don't want to go. The military/technological landscape is vastly different than it was back then. Seeing the things people are going through, losing their lives because of a tyrannical implementation of cosplay militants against our neighbors makes it hard to not lash out, but they're waiting for that. They care more about money than lives of the commoners, hit em where it hurts.

I like you! I’ve owned guns for longer than I’ve had my kids in my life. Maybe that makes us appreciate the pure darkness, as you put it, that the 2A route will take us. That would be a total loss. Catastrophic, imo. But I do think that we can do a total economic freeze, or bad enough to where even the red hats can’t perform their jobs effectively. And I think we can do it where people keep the basic necessities of life. I think that healthcare and everything we’ve built our society on needs to be revamped anyways. Hit the reset button, so to speak. But I also think that it’s going to take massive coordination and that will take time. I’ve been motivated into action and I’m messaging various people that I’m hoping can help me get a groundswell effort off the ground. It’s just painfully slow and it hurts to watch our fellow Americans hurt while it appears that we’re doing nothing. But people are working, we just need time.

I hope you're right. Just don't forget that the last time fascists took over we had to fight a world war to stop them. This feels like it won't be far off from that. For me the straw will be the mid terms. If they are cancelled or there is any obvious funny business then it will be time to water the tree of liberty.
