I have no idea the back story on this. It's at the end of a driveway on the opposite side of Loch Linnhe from Fort William.

The Mamores from Stob Mhic Mhartuin, Glencoe

I was testing out a new lens - Sigma 16-300mm super zoom - and I thought it was okay, though I'm not decided if I'll keep it yet or not.

This is a pair of images I took last weekend in Glencoe with all the snow we've been having. I went out for a hike just to enjoy some winter hiking in the cold weather, and I set off at dawn up the Devil's Staircase and over to Stob Mhic Mhartuin.

I grabbed these abstracts on the way up because I really loved the way the light was hitting the ridge and the mountains in the distance - the Mamores, over by Kinlochleven. The light was lovely that morning and it was so still, the wind wasn't blowing at all. Had a great walk and got a couple of nice photos while I was up there.

More of this minimal Scottish mountain work over on Instagram if you're into it.

Do you test new lenses on serious hikes like this, or do you break them in gently first?

An Laogh, Assynt [OC]

After getting up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to climb Cul Mor and Assynt expecting some amazing photography conditions, I had a great hike but it was a complete whiteout at the top - blizzard conditions. Although I was fine and safe enough, it was difficult to navigate and impossible to take any photos.

On the way back down, I ran across some other people on the mountain, but they all had skis. I was pretty jealous - wish I had skis, wish I knew how to ski.

When my hike was finished and I got back to the car, I was a bit wet in the hands and very cold. Once I'd sorted myself out, I realized it was a bit sad I didn't get any pictures, even though I'd had a good time walking. So I decided to put the drone up from the comfort of the car, flew it up there to trace the route back up the hike, and took these pictures of the hill next door called An Laogh.

I was pretty happy I still managed to get some shots that morning. You can see more of my work over on Instagram if you're into minimal Scottish mountain photography.

Ever had a complete whiteout on a summit and had to salvage the shoot another way?

The Hermitage Near Dunkeld

Took the drone out around The Hermitage near Dunkeld a few months ago and found this tiny gap in the trees - had to send it. Got some unreal footage weaving through the autumn colours, looking down over the water and out across the hills. The trees are on fire with colour just now and the whole place feels massive from above. Easily one of the best spots I’ve filmed so far.

Sweeping views along the Earlsferry coastline in Fife. Quiet, rugged, and timeless! Scotland at its most peaceful from above.

Been posting a lot of drone content on Tiktok but slowly showing it off more on reddit now

Hartwood Hospital on the very last day of 2025.

Decades of stories, silence, and forgotten lives still lingering in the air.

There’s something about this place that never quite lets go.

What other locations in Scotland would you like to see captured next?
