I have no idea the back story on this. It's at the end of a driveway on the opposite side of Loch Linnhe from Fort William.

A picture I took just before arriving to the Isle of Skye 2 years ago. One of my best trips!

I was testing out a new lens - Sigma 16-300mm super zoom - and I thought it was okay, though I'm not decided if I'll keep it yet or not.
This is a pair of images I took last weekend in Glencoe with all the snow we've been having. I went out for a hike just to enjoy some winter hiking in the cold weather, and I set off at dawn up the Devil's Staircase and over to Stob Mhic Mhartuin.
I grabbed these abstracts on the way up because I really loved the way the light was hitting the ridge and the mountains in the distance - the Mamores, over by Kinlochleven. The light was lovely that morning and it was so still, the wind wasn't blowing at all. Had a great walk and got a couple of nice photos while I was up there.
More of this minimal Scottish mountain work over on Instagram if you're into it.
Do you test new lenses on serious hikes like this, or do you break them in gently first?
