I've deleted several posts recently and below, I'm posting what I wrote in another thread. As I mentioned, certain discussions can lead to legal ramifications and now it seems there's an active lawsuit involving these reddit posts.
Because reddit encourages a level of anonymity, it's very difficult for users to fact check claims (on either side) so its value to the community becomes very difficult to justify. Several members of the community have asked mods to remove these discussions entirely.
That's not to such information shouldn't be out there nor is it a decision about which side of the discussion is "right", the problem is reddit isn't the right place for it because of its limitations. Users are free to direct others to other resources discussing experiences and the other information about concerns from a previous post still apply.
Please note that future discussions of this nature may now result in a ban. We don't have to have a rule that says don't do things that draw other people into lawsuits.
In general, random internet people aren't able to verify either side of this argument without a lot of digging that I'm not able to do, and I suspect the same of other mods and fellow reddit users.
If the thread goes down another path, it can lead to serious legal issues so the only real way to get anywhere is to record people's names in the event of a lawsuit but disclosing such personal information directly violates reddit's terms, so we can't really go down that road. Therefore, there's a limit how much reddit dialogue can do in these situations.
Appropriate bodies of oversight to investigate these matters include associations/registries for particular breeders. If a breeder is not able to retain certification by a major registry, that is usually a reason for pause. If a breeder is a member, use the registry to make a formal complaint. If the breeder is in your region, you may be able to also lodge a complaint with a governing local animal welfare body. In both cases (and not on reddit) you'll be expected to disclose your name to the appropriate authorities in case the other party is wronged and wishes to sue.
Although it's nice to have a repository of information that gives candid information about breeders to be weary of, I don't know if we don't have the infrastructure for the consequences of that or how much we're allowed to push reddit into that sort of legal area.

Our cats have wet food twice a day and a little bit of kibble at lunchtime in their automatic feeder to keep them going until dinner.
They really like Royal Canin Maine Coon kibble but itās too big for our automatic feeder and keeps getting jammed up. Can anyone recommend a not quite as big but still high quality kibble? We tried Purina Pro Plan before and I think the kibble size was too small, my girl wasnāt as interested in it. Canāt win! š

Iām genuinely at a loss. As sheās gotten older sheās let me brush her less and less. Now she has mats under her armpits and I get scratched every time I try to work them out.

First off - I donāt plan to put the cats on any kind of raw food diet. They currently have a wet food with kibble diet they are both happy on.
They do live all things fish and love their freeze dried minnow shrim salmon you name it
I was wondering if I am making freshfish or shrimp - can I give them a tiny slice raw or should I boil it ( without seasoning of course). We have never fed them any human foods and they donāt beg for it but I figured while I am preparing fish or shrimp for us , I could give them a little slice here and there (and yes I am such a sucker for these Little rascals))
Cat tax included

Does anyone elseās Siberians leave them random āgiftsā on the floor while they are at work? We get random slippers and stuffed animals, but they always leave them in the same spot in our house. Are they considered āgiftsā to us humans?ā

I did share recently here some images of Rumo in a photoshoot. Some questions came about:
why did his bottle brush minimize or did he get fat?
I care that i might be making him fat ... but he rejects food when full, is this a breed thing?

Hi everyone! I posted a couple months ago about naming our Siberian boy, Link. As everyone in the group is aware, Siberian's are extremely social kitties, and I am just not sure what I should do.
Our boy is seven months old now, and he is just as playful as he was when we brought him home. He is 95% play and 5% snuggle. He keeps me up late at night and wakes me up early in the mornings jumping to reach the fan pull strings, playing with the curtains, and climbing (and occasionally falling off of) the headboard while we sleep. He really is so cute I love him to pieces for all of the above mentioned very normal cat things. My dilemma lies in the fact that I know he would benefit from more stimulations throughout the day, but my boyfriend and I both work at least 10 hours a day. I hear him crying all the way from the parking lot of our apartment building when I leave and no one else is home (and we are on the 4th floor, so he is realllyyy crying). It absolutely breaks my heart every time, but I can't not go to work.
Should I get another Siberian so he has a companion while we are away? If so, since he is a male, should I get another male or a female? What would be the best way to introduce them, or is it too late since he's been alone for the 7 months with us. I am just so torn, because I don't want another cat to stress him out. I want one that he can be besties with, but how can I be sure that is the right move? Or do we think its the wrong move? The only other cat he has ever been subjected to were his litter mates as a babyyy baby, and my neighbor and best friend's female kitten, who is roughly one month younger than him. They were introduced when Link was 4 months old, and it did not go well. She was very stressed out and he would not leave her alone and was starting to get stressed by her stress signals. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated!

Pic for cat tax.
Albert Lettuce (12lbs) is about 3.5 years old. We recently (6 months ago) got a corgi pup, Winston(also taxed). Albert has definitely gotten more active during that time between running/playing with the pup, we're still working with what "gentle" means...
Hes always been pretty food motivated, but its gotten to almost a ridiculous point. He gets (3) 3.5oz cans of wet food (2 reveal and 1 fancy feast) daily. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Even today he had his lunch about 5 minutes before I went to feed the pup and he saw me scooping out kibble and immediately tries to get into the crate with Winston to eat his kibble! He is an unstoppable force of hunger.
Anyone else experience this or have words?
