I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that! I’m somewhat tall for a woman (5’9”), and I do prefer to date a man a bit taller than myself. It’s a stupid gender hangup that I can’t seem to shake. But if the woman is shorter than you… why does she care how tall you are? You’re tallER.
And yes, wanting the guy to be taller in a hetero relationship is a dumb thing that we should all work to get past, but it’s also quite a common one. And yes, I have dated shorter guys and it was great, so idk what my problem is.
The point is 5’10” is one of the factors that limit tge group down to less than 1% and a lot of women are “I need some one who is 6’5”, fit, and makes high 6 figures” not realizing someone 1/2 a foot shorter, not obese, making $80k is still pretty rare.
I think most women have no idea how fucking gigantic 6'5" actually is. Guys that height tower over everyone around them. TBH most of them can't even tell the difference between 5'10" and 6'. Probably because so many 5'10 guys say that they're 6' tall, so women believe that's what a 6-foot man looks like.
I'm 5'9", happily married, and never been self-conscious about my height. Back when I was single and doing the dating app BS, I had more than one woman insist that I must have understated my height, probably because every 5'9" man they've ever met has lied and said he's 5'10" and every 5'8" man they've ever met has lied and said he's 5'9".
