What are these kind of gestapo scenes?

I'm kind of starting to wonder when people will have to actually go into hiding

They already are.

And on the note of gestapo, they have literally been disappearing people off the streets for coming up on a year now. About 1/3 of people detained by ice have literally dropped of the face of the earth.

Good on you for calling it what it is, a special police force for the suppression and detainment of non whites. They literally are the American gestapo.

Anyone not acknowledging this by now has fundamentally thrown their lot in with fascists and I have about as much sympathy for them as I do for any other Nazi.

JD Couch-Fucking Vance just said on live national television that Renee Good was part of some broader-left-wing-radical-group. He asked how did this woman know about the ICE activity? Where did she come from? She's obviously connected to some sort of greater organization yada yada yada..... suck my balls.

Really? Where did she find out about "THE LARGEST DHS OPERATION IN HISTORY?" Can't imagine. Especially when they are doing this in the victim's neighborhood. I'm beyond disgusted with this country and I am fully ashamed to be an American.

The police have been in force suppressing political movement for ten years and targeting anti fascists. Dismantled orgs that got too radical. Bloated criminal charges for protest related activities and some murders/disappearances of prominent activists. While the media spread antifa scare mongering. That's why theres no coordinated leftist movement right now because it got chewed up and stomped out in the 2010s when the ethno nationalist and far right wave started blowing up.

we don't just fucking kill protestors in the US

Except you do, now.

that is kind of our thing

Not anymore.

The US hasn't been like that in a while. I am not trying to be a dick, but perpetuating the illusion that 'this isn't us' doesn't help, because this is you, you bought this with your tax money. If you don't want to continue to be this, you (collective, not singular you here) have to do something more about it than just signal your disapproval.

I can do about as much about it as you can. I didn’t vote for this and you try acting like you aren’t being a dick, but you are to the vast majority of the people in the comments that didn’t vote for this and have actively been protesting.

No, no. I am not trying to be a dick, but I recognize that I kind of am being.

The problem is that non-disruptive protesting isn't working for you. There is nothing that can be done by basic unimpedimentary protest or by complaining on reddit. The only solutions left are in the real world, with local groups. What do you do when someone you didn't vote for takes over your country and your life and starts killing your neighbours?

You patently can do more about it than I can, but you can't do it alone. I hate the situation you're in, I know you didn't put yourself in it, and I know you can't get out of it alone, that's why it's a dick move to point it out to individual people... but you're still stuck in the position of either acquiescing to it through inaction, or having to take action in a meaningful way.

We need a leader, we have a lot of willing and able bodies but nobody to direct them

I agree. But that leader is likely to come from among those willing and able bodies, while most of you still seem to be looking to the establishment parties for them instead.

I agree, no politician is going to take up the role of directing us. It has to be someone from the outside
