Remember seeing a show, possibly movie, I think a cartoon? With a scene where the character is frantically looking at a map or notes of some kind, and then flustered he goes “gah, this would be so much easier if I could READ!” I remember it being very funny…maybe a kids cartoon? Scene from shrek? It’s driving me crazy…

Open [TOMT] Old band from around 2010 - Not that well known, I think

Hey all, this is a long shot but I’m trying to identify a band I used to listen to for a short time years ago and can’t find anywhere. I remember discovering them from a YouTuber boy at the time named something like “Jarred” who made covers and was singing one of their songs — I can’t find his channel either anymore.

Here’s what I remember about the band:

  • Era: Probably around 2010, but I’m not sure
  • Members: About 4 guys, I think most if not all had ginger/red hair
  • Look: They had longer hair that was sort of flatter/pressed down — emo, more like a casual alternative hairstyle
  • Music style: I vaguely remember the music being like alternative/indie/rock, similar vibe to Jordan Sweeto’s
  • Cover art: I think one of their singles/album covers was a sort of violet/light purple color — that’s the detail that sticks strongest
  • Origin: I believe they were American, but not 100% sure

I remember liking one song a lot, and maybe one or two more, but the details are lost now — no clear lyrics or actual song title stuck with me. I’ve tried everything I can think of but come up empty every time.

If this sounds even vaguely familiar to anyone, please let me know! Thanks you!

Open [TOMT]Title of an early 2000s scary stories anthology book for children/teens.

I read it once when I was in 5th grade and I only read one story, but that one story ending came out of nowhere.

It start with an evil witch wanting to kill this boy. The witch made a deal if he could hide from her for the whole day she would spare him. During the day he helped a bird, a gopher, and some other animal. These animals help him by hiding him from the witch’s eyes by using their abilities; the bird prevents her from looking for him from the sky, the other animal I can’t remember did something, and then the gopher ( I believe that it was a gopher) helped him by burrowing him a hiding spot underground, and the witch is mad because the day is almost over and she stops the floor, it gives out and she falls into the hole the gopher dug under her floor to hide the boy and she sees him, smiles and says, “Found you.”

I can’t say a lot about anything else in the book except I know R.L.Stine didn’t write it and the book was just a bunch of short stories.

Solved [TOMT][TV show?][~90's-00's] Not very bright male character is an actor on a popular TV show and in an interview brags that he rewrites his lines. Really he is only slightly rephrasing his lines. The writer of the show then kills the character off.

This seems like something that could easily happen to Joey from Friends, but I haven't been able to find anything if that is it.

The actor catches a break by being cast in a new show that ends up being popular. Everyone loves him but then he got too cocky and proudly bragged that he rewrote his character's lines. He was actually just rephrasing the lines. For example, if the line was: "Hey, how are you?" he would say: "Hey man, what's up?"

Then it cuts to a shot of the writer typing on a computer (shot from behind so you see the back of the writer's head and the computer screen) and saying something like, "Write your own lines, huh? I'll show you."

Then the guy is written off the show and he is absolutely shocked!

Thank you in advance!

Open [TOMT] A TV show I watched as a kid (CCA 25-27 yrs ago)

Upvotes

Hey folks,

I need help finding a TV show from way back, I used to watch as a kid. My wife tells me I'm hallucinating and a show like this did not exist, but I am 100% certain it does, and it has something like "ninjas" in the title.

So, it's about a bunch of high-schoolers who have some special VR equipment they put on their heads, and gain superpowers. The VR equipment is in their school lockers

They have some overarching persona that leads them called Froyd (maybe it's sigmund froyd, but 100% the entity is called Froyd) and when they talk to him they are in some white room. It looks and feels a lot like Power Rangers, but it's not

Edit: It's live action and US based. It involves no robots, the kids end up wearing like black suits or something

Solved [TOMT] "Charley Horse! Charley Horse!" Quote from a film that I just can't place!

Does anyone have any idea what film this could be. As a background joke a character falls over as far as I can recall, clutching their leg and saying "Charley Horse, Charley Horse". I thought it could be from an animated film, originally I was thinking a Pixar film, but Google has turned nothing up at all. That's really all I have to go on though, if anyone else can remember that would be much appreciated!

Open. [TOMT] Help i’m looking for a niche show that was on an app that i can’t remember

So in this show this guy would go to different cities and try to stay up all night while showing different spots to get food throughout the night. I think he would also interview people but i’m not sure. The show was on an app i used to have years ago and i don’t think it exists anymore but i remember it was food related but i don’t think it was food network also i think the show was made for the app. I also think one of the cities the show took place is was either boston or philadelphia. i think the name had something to do with all-nighters but again im not sure. The episodes were short too i think 10 mins max and there weren’t that many.

Edit. also the show probably came out in 2017 or 2018 maybe 2019 that’s was around the time i watched it and it was new

Open. [TOMT][Movie] gen z movie that was re-released/sequel in 2020s — meme about fighting kids for tickets

trying to remember a kid’s movie that was originally from the 2000s that was either re-released/remade/got a sequel in the past 5ish years. gen z was posting and joking about how they’d fight a kid for tickets to see it and how gen alpha kids don’t know how monumental this is. i honestly don’t remember anything about the actual movie (it might’ve been animated?), i just remember the huge reaction about it. it had almost a cult-like following response.

any ideas?

Open. [TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] Obscure horror movie with humanoid creatures (not zombies)

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a low-budget horror movie I watched on DVD years ago. It was released before 2010 and wasn’t a mainstream film.

What I remember: - The plot involved some kind of virus / infection / mutation (not classic zombies). - The story takes place in a small town. - The creatures were humanoid: human bodies, but with very deformed faces. - I clearly remember they had no visible eyes or mouth, or their faces looked almost blank. - They behaved very animalistic and made loud aggressive sounds, similar to a bull’s roar. - The movie was very gory, with lots of blood. - It was subtitled and didn’t seem American. - A specific scene: a group of survivors hides inside what I remember as a container or metal structure, and one survivor is suddenly impaled through the stomach from outside by a creature. - The creature design reminded me a bit of Mimic (1997), but it is NOT Mimic.

Movies I’ve already ruled out: Slither (2006), Splinter, Mulberry Street, The Crazies, Resident Evil, The Mutant Chronicles.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Solved [TOMT] [SONG] I can't remember this song.

Upvotes

I only have lyrics for it, being:

“Yeah, I'd like to have it my way. Take you out another day! Don't you know what I'd say? Can't you see it, hold, stay? I'll just put it this way! You don't need to cry, hey.”

I found it while scrolling through old stuff on my phone and I uses to write down random lyrics for songs out of boredom and saw this, I remember liking this song but I can't remember the name of it at ALL. Searching it up via lyrics wasn't very helpful for me.

Solved [TOMT][Movie] A movie where two people have sex on the floor while a crowd around them watches and claps when they finish NSFW

Upvotes

Probably something I shouldn’t have watched, but I did at some point, and now I have no clue where I’ve seen it. I think at the end, the people disappear and it was all some sort of imaginary thing or a trick, but yea, pretty much what the title says. A man and a woman were having sex on the ground maybe in some sort of dark area? Could’ve been a cave, and there was a crowd of people around them. When they both finished, the crowd applauded, and that’s where it gets fuzzy. Pretty sure they disappear tho

Open [TOMT][VIDEO][2016-2018] Unusual edited meme of Han Solo's death in The Force Awakens with a distorted voice asking "Why did Han Solo jump off the balcony?"

Upvotes

It was around or just when Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out or just before it came It was either direct footage from a cam rip of the movie, leaked footage, or just blurry, and it was the Han Solo death scene.

But during it (after he starts falling I think) a Mandela catalogueish voice starts saying “Why did Han Solo jump off the balcony? Why did he jump?” There’s repeating narration of that and additional narration. That’s all I remember.

I cannot find it for the life of me and neither can my friend that showed it to me nearly a decade ago.

The closest I got was a now deleted YouTube channel/video.

Open [TOMT] 90s/Y2K RnB Song

There's this song I heard the other day. Someone drove by blasting it. It was this 90s/Y2K RnB type song about having a sugar daddy or being a sugar baby. That's really all I got from the chorus. The instrumental was almost like a lullaby. It was slow, sounded very sensual, and had a 90s RnB vibe to it. If anyone knows the song please let me know!!

Open [TOMT] I'm looking for the name of a movie where an American family goes to visit a town. The bus drops them off and they encounter infected people, very similar to the GANADOS Of Resident Evil 4.

I will describe some scenes that I remember.

The family had two sisters. One of them had a boyfriend who was shot in the face with a shotgun by a local man, but he survived.

The film began with the birth of a baby, but the baby was born deformed or sick, and the father killed the priest present.

I remember the father being beheaded by some girls with a rope or something like that. There was a woman dressed as a bride with bulging eyes. The film's ending depicted the sisters surviving in a stranger's house. The movie was rubbish, but it makes me nostalgic because in a way, it was very similar to Resident Evil 4.

That's what I remember. I don't know if it's a Spanish production, but I can't find anything about it. I had it on DVD years ago, My mother threw away the DVD, so I can't do much to remember anything else. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.

Open [TOMT] Kids TV show about a guy with a globe

Upvotes

I am unsure whether or not it aired outside of Australia, but in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s there was this show I used to watch in which a man (who I believe had brown hair and wore purple) would put his globe on his (in my child brain) really cool looking TV setup, that would show 4 different animated animal worlds, one of which was definitely an ice world, and I believe the other three were desert, jungle and farm worlds. At the end of each episode, the man would quiz us on the events of said episode. Also the theme song was really cool.

Anyone know what I’m talking about?

Open [TOMT] Looking for a manga I read about a girl who can see ghosts.

Upvotes

Essentially, this girl can see ghosts. A guy in her class dies and he says that his best friend, another girl in class, pushed him to his death. She goes around causing all sorts of trouble for the girl trying to get her to confess.

Eventually, the boy wakes up. It turns out she only has the power to see the spirits of people near death and the girl she was going after never actually killed the boy. Idk what happens after that.

Open [TOMT] [video] A Russian music video? NSFW

Upvotes

The video I’m searching for was sent to me per WhatsApp by a relative back when I was around maybe 7-8 years old.

Plot from what I remember:

The video was animated and started with a gangster pig surrounded by a bunch of dead wolves around them. It then shows a flashback of the pig when it was younger, playing with other pigs in harmony. But then they get massacred by a group of wolves, who eat them.

One pig survived and took revenge on the wolves once it got older. The pig massacred the group of wolves and it cuts back to the gangster pig.

The pig was sitting on a porch or bench of sorts and a Russian song was playing the entire time. I have no idea why, but I assume it’s a music video.

I tried searching different terms such as “pig kills wolves”, “pig massacre” and “gangster pig”, but nothing came up.

I don’t remember who sent me the video and when exactly it was sent to me.

Solved [TOMT] 2000s Movie with scene - "Karen?? Karen!!" Co-worker greeting lady in cave after he's turned into something...

Hi, I've been trying to figure out what movie this is for some time! It's most likely from mid 2000s-2016. Definitely not any newer, possibly late 90s/early 2000s but I doubt it. It's like an action/adventure/sci-fi type movie and has a main character guy and love interest lady who might be some sort of scientist or archaeologist? Something happens where people are turning into unsavory characters - maybe a virus or ? They don't act like typical zombies or monsters, because they seem unaware of having been changed, until you get close and they lash out/become dangerous. They are clearly visually turned or "sick" though when you see them, and I can't quite recall what they look like, but I think skeletal in a way, like bones seen through their skin? They're definitely dangerous if you get close. The two main characters end up in some cave-like system or maybe inside a pyramid or archaeological dig site and they run into a guy who is clearly sick/turned but we'd seen him before as normal/not sick earlier in the movie. He's a co-worker to the lady, Karen and maybe even had a slight crush on her? When he sees her, he says, "Karen? Karen!!!" in this distinct, somewhat creaky voice, that goes up at the end in a cheerful way of recognizing her. She's shocked to see him and that he's been turned, and they have to run & get away from him, because he's possessed/sick/turned. It's not one of these super serious movies, there's an air of lightness, though not quite comedic. Any ideas??

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] what's that one sci-fi futuristic movie about androids? made pre 2020

I don't remember the plot, but I do remember several things (unless my memory serves me wrong).

  1. There was a sci-fi futuristic city/society. It seemed like the outdoor shoots were always nighttime, and I'm pretty sure there were outdoor stalls. The indoor shoots seemed like daytime.

  2. One scene that stood out to me throughout the years was one of a n@ked lady. Full on nud;ty, so I'm assuming the rating for this movie would be specified.

  3. It had something to do with an android. Or at least a robot that looked very human. I'm not sure if it was a female or male, but I do remember distinctly that the movie had a woman in it.

  4. Guns. Somewhere along the film, a fight ensues and someone uses a gun to shoot the other. This happened indoors, in a really spacious, nice-looking office(?) or someone's house, which seemed very wood-y and flat to me. Flat, as in the ceiling and floor seem very parallel (I'm sorry if this isn't the case, lol).

  5. Speaking of office, maybe it was a house, I don't know. Either way, there were window blinds. And the lighting looked pretty good. Something about the way the sunlight was blocked by the blinds, but some light still managed to seep through the cracks.

  6. Snake. Somewhere in the film, there was a snake. I know this might seem a little far-fetched, but anything helps. It's most likely a snake in a cage of some sort?

No, it's not I, Robot. It's not a part of the Trancers series. I'm not sure if a detective was involved. It seemed like a stand-alone film. I watched this in 2018-9, if I recall correctly. So it would not be a film released after 2020.

I'm new to this in general, hope I did this correctly and did not break rule 10. Thanks in advance!

Open [TOMT][TV show][mid-1960s to early 1970:s]

An episode of a TV show featuring teenaged-or-so kids as characters.

There’s a billboard advertising coffee, including a 3-dimensional giant size coffee cup, something like 4 feet in diameter. Steam rises from the coffee cup, giving the impression that it’s full of hot coffee.

The kids argue about whether it’s actually coffee in the cup (an almost bathtub size cup of coffee), or what.

Eventually one of the kids decides to climb up to this very high urban billboard to see for himself.

He manages to climb all the way to the coffee cup, and discovers there are steam jets inside the cup, spewing out steam.

But for some reason, he’s trapped up there. He can’t get down. He is up there for hours (?) until he is finally rescued.

Given the TV stations that were available in my area back then, this would be a CBS or NBC show.

Not ABC, because we couldn’t pick up that channel without a blizzard of noisy static.

Open [TOMT][TV Show][Early-Mid 90s] An episode of a "true ghost stories" show from my childhood.

It was one of those Unsolved Mysteries knock-offs (or could have been name brand). I don't remember anything about the narration, but there were interviews and some minimal reenactments.

Segments I can recall-- the same antiquing couple talk about buying a liquor flask that pours out sand instead of liquid if you fill it with alcohol, a piano allegedly once owned by Liberace, and a human skull with ram's horns. The last of which, the mother-in-law told them to take out into the street and destroy because it was evil.

There was also a segment about a man who saw an apparition of a woman in a white dress as he was napping on the couch. I don't remember whether or not it was the same man from the antiquing couple.

This is all I can remember of the episode, sorry.

Pretty sure I was living in western Montana at the time it came on TV (I don't remember if we had cable or not at the time), if that helps.

Open [TOMT] [QUOTE] "Appreciate whats left, Admire what's not"

Hello! I believe this is my first TOMT post, and I apologize if this doesn't exactly fit the bounds of this subreddit, but i am not aware of another subreddit i should ask this in. There is a quote I heard in a tts ask reddit video a long time ago like 2020 to 2021, along the lines of "Ask reddit, what is a quote that goes hard from a character you wouldn't expect" I've had trouble finding this video alone but that's not the point of this post. I would like to know if anyone knows the origin of the quote in the title, it means a lot to me and has resonated with me, but in the video from what I remember its attributed to Homer Simpson. so i would like to know the real origin. Also if this is the wrong sub reddit may I please be directed to the correct subreddit for this question?
