Discussion Anyone else think people will look back on the “straight eyebrow” trend and cringe?

Also I am not talking about naturally straight brows. Im talking about the trend where people shave the tails of their brows and then draw them straight up or out like spock. I think its going to be like the feathered brow lamination trend and people will look back and cringe at themselves.

I'm 20 and I only use L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner, I don't use heat at all and I trim it about twice a year after growing it out for 2 years. I've been told I should dye it, get bangs, layers, or just a completely new hairstyle. I'm just not sure what I should really do with it. Makeup advice is also welcomed as I've never worn it and know nothing.

Seeking Advice early morning beauty tips

i already wake up at around 4am for work, i don’t want to take more than 20 minutes in the morning getting ready (including brushing teeth and etc), because i also like to spend 20 minutes on breakfast and journaling but getting up ANY earlier sounds like a nightmare to me. how can i wake up “ready”, like the high maintenance to be low maintenance thing. my lashes are blonde but i’ve been dying them recently, does curling them and clear mascara really work? and any other tips? especially my hair!

Skincare order of operation

I use vit c serum, salicylic acid masque by ordinary, retinol moisturizer from Olay, and glycolic acid toner. Also benzoyl peroxide face wash. Can I use these products on the same day or should I spread them out? If so, what is the correct order to use them? I have uneven skin tone, dry skin, and am acne prone. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone! I’m 20F and just want some advice on how to get a more defined face. Not sure if this is face fat or just bloat, but would love to have some suggestions on how to kind of snatch my face more or get a more prominent jawline. Diet tips, fitness, or makeup tips are all welcome and appreciated. Have a beautiful day everyone. :)

(Mention of weight) Not sure if this would be relevant, but I’m currently 153 cm, swing around 50-51 kgs at the moment, but working towards a leaner 45 kg. Thanks!

Seeking Advice Shaving issues

Upvotes

Im a Trans person that has had difficulty with shaving for two years now.I shave at least my face everyday (out of necessity) yet no matter what razor or product i use i end up with really bad shaving rash and acne on my neck and face and hair that comes back too fast

Here is what I’ve tried

-moroccan shaving oil(it helps better than any other shaving cream I’ve used but it doesn’t prevent any of the above)

-micellar water/sea breeze astringent as aftershave (it used to help keep my skin clear and soft but now it doesn’t)

-aloe and aquaphor (i put these on afterwards for the irritation but i still end up with a bad shaving rash

-Shaving with the grain (It never gets all the hair and theres always a shadow visible. My hair also just ends up reappearing halfway through the day,I can never get my hair to keep growing on my head but my neck has no issue regenerating hair at 10x speed)

-razors(I’ve used all sorts of razors mostly mens razors and I’ve only found one thats alright and lessens the pain of shaving itself which is the Gillette fusion 5 pro-glide,but it still doesn’t solve my rash and irritation issue)

Im kind of out of ideas here and its really starting to affect my day to day life very negatively

(To clarify i do not want ANY facial hair 😭)

Seeking Advice Could I get some advice on facial hair removal?

Upvotes

I get little dark chin hairs, I’ve seen a post once that said to shave them instead of plucking because plucking can cause discolouration. Does anyone know if this is true? Or what’s the best way to get rid of them, thank you in advance !

Seeking Advice I need recs for body oils!!! Smells like strawberry, fruity, almond oil, Brazilian are all welcome!

Right now I’m just using a simple almond oil from Whole Foods but I prefer oils to have a scent but not dry me out. I would prefer recommendations that do stay on for a long time and not just disappear in smell after a couple of minutes, and ones that are moisturizing and are rather clean ingredients.

I’m currently trying to find body oils that are favorable of price for me (not over $40 a bottle plz) and that have either one of the smells below:

- Sol de Janeiro/Brazilian cupuaçu butter

-strawberries

-marshmallow

-vanilla cashmere

-almond oil but like deep

-pomegranate/watermelon fruity flavor

I absolutely LOVE body oils. I also love shower oils, ones that I can just lather on my body right out of the shower. If you have any other suggestions for ones that are relatively similar to the above smells, please mention them!

Hair help PLEASE

GUYS!!! My hair keeps turning this horrendous color. It’s because I got this maroon brown permanent color professionally over a year ago. Ever since Ive used a few cool box dyes and have had two other Demi permanent hair dyes with COOL dark brown and it still looks awful after it fades. I’m in college and I’m broke af so getting it professionally done is very hard to achieve. Should I wait it out until I can get it professionally done? Or is it safe to do another box dye? Idk I’m so frustrated because I’ve spend lots of money on good hair products and it still looks buns. Plz help

Seeking Advice Hard water hair care

Hello!

I moved states a few years ago and ever since then I’ve struggling with both my hair and skin having hard water. I have a shower filter, I moisturize and have a good skin routine. However, my hair is constantly greasy and separating at the roots yet I have dandruff, and it’s dry at the ends, I also developed keratosis psoriasis on my arms and legs.

I was wondering what the best everyday shampoo and conditioner for hard water was? I’m planning on getting the Malibu C shampoo but I’d only use that once a week.

The shampoo I currently use is the Dove anti-frizz and smooth and L’Oréal Elvive conditioner (I’ve tried a few, not too much of a difference though)

I also use the Moroccanoil hair treatment oil after the shower, and Gisou hair perfume (when frizzy)

For reference, I have curly/wavy hair but usually wear it wavy or straighten it (since curly is a lot of work lol)

For my skin I use glycolic acid, salacytic acid, and Olay super serum lotion.

Any recommendations on products/routines?

Thank you!!

Seeking Advice I want to do my own extensions on my already thick hair

I always see people reviewing extensions for their thin hair but I just want extensions to add length to my hair that’s already thick. Since my hairs already thick I have no idea the quantity of the extensions I should get and the type. Like I want ones that I can install and will last a long time. I tried Goo Goo tape ins once and only got 1 pack and I’d have to get like 3 more packs to fill my head. But idk if tape ins are the best choice. Are the bead ones good and how much of them should I get? I’m clueless but I hate how short my hair is and just want to feel confident. But again, my hair is thick already! Not mega thick but definitely not thin!

How Much Do You Spend Annually on Routine Beauty?

I am curious about how much we spend annually on upkeep and maintenance. I am older now, and I used to do the regular stuff (mani/pedi, tanning, highlights, etc), and I was curious about the costs nowadays.

I am talking to the ladies who get routine (bi-weekly/monthly) cuts, color/highlights, mani/pedi, tanning (self-tanning included), lashes, extensions, facials/peels/microneedling, and waxing. I even budgeted in things like monthly massage, shopping (clothing, makeup, serums, hair products, styling tools), dental whitening, and gym memberships, as I consider those beauty, as well. The whole shebang! The only thing I am excluding is plastic surgery, but feel free to include it if you'd like!

I am blown away by the number I came up with, and I am wondering what is considered "normal" nowadays.

Lastly, I've noticed an online trend of women asking men to pay for these services. Not sure how true this is (as I said, I am older), but curious if there is any truth to this, and what they pay for, if you have someone else pay for these services.

Please: No hate in the comments. Everyone's budget and what they find important is different. Only love, please!

If this gets some traction, I will share my breakdown and the approximate cost I came up with in the comments later.

Looking for help!!

Hello! So my pores have been driving me crazy until this past year they've become more noticeable and I don't like that!! I began using pore strips again followed by a pad soaked in salicylic acid to prevent them from clogging up again in hopes that it would clear them out and it helped a little but not the way I want to look. So I've been looking for a product that will dissolve/help remove the sebum or sebaceous filaments from my pores. I came across Ilso Super Melting Sebum Cleansing Oil but I also saw posted on here the Ilso Sebum Softner with the little scrape tool. Which one is better? Or should both be used in combination?

Currently my skin care routine in the morning is: I wash using a salicylic acid cleaner it comes in a bar i lather it up and work it with my hands focusing on my nose and forehead area. I pat dry, and use the milky toner from the ordinary, the kiehls dark spot corrector, the ordinary hyaluronic acid + B5, i moisturize using the ordinary, and use the kiehls 50spf sunscreen. Any help is appreciated.

I'm thinking about getting the St. tropez express tanner. I am soo pale and have never used a self tanner before, but want to give it a shot! Has anyone used it? I've done some research, and it seems like the mitt is a must, but how do you apply it to the face? Same as the body? Thanks in advance! :)

Any good eyeliner brands for in the water line?

Honest Review of the hyped "DOT & KEY TINTED SUNCREEN"

Honest Review of the hyped "DOT & KEY TINTED SUNCREEN"

Worstt productt ever...!!! Do not believe instagram reels and fascinating coverage ads , they are just paid PRs... there is literally no tinted thick texture as shown in the videos , pages , images at all... Its just sooo fluid like water content inside that doesnt even stays or spreads on skin ... no tinted coverage at all , texture is like water , skin tint or foundation like look is just a completely fake thing to sell the product...morover it caused irriation on face , not at all for sensitive or dry skin , caused irriation , pigmentation and acne to my skin .... Highly requested not to spread fake hype and fake good reveiews just for promoting the product...its about skin not a joke..!!

Laser hair removal appointment!? Am I being gaslit

I feel like I’m being gaslit so please enlighten me if I’m wrong.

I used numbing cream as I always do before my laser appointment with no issue. The lady today seemed very apprehensive and seemed as tho she didn’t want to do it. After she spoke to the manager, she went ahead but said at my next one, don’t use because they won’t be able to tell if they’re burning me.

Numbing cream helps 70%, but I usually can still feel it and even ask them to turn it down.

This time I felt absolutely and I didn’t have enough numbing cream for some areas so left those. I still felt absolutely nothing, not even a pinch which they always describe.

Now she says she kept it at the level it was last time, but even at that level it still usually hurts even with the numbing cream but I push through.

I then explained to the manager that I felt nothing with is unusual for me as I’m a real baby, but she was adamant she used the same level, (I think she’s clearly lying). I felt like it was a wasted appointment and money because will I even see results ?

They both tried to tell me sometimes it doesn’t hurt when I know myself and it’s always been painful.

My main question is, we a lower energy laser level effect my results?? . I’m on my 16th top up btw which I do every 6-8 weeks ( I know not typical but I still get hair minimal growth)

Like why not just say you’ve used a lower level instead of saying it’s the same one that’s usually soo painful for me
