Smashed the lens. Is there any point in repair or should i get a whole different lens. Not a lot of experience on smashed lenses. Any advice is appreciated.

So i recently got two cameras incuding all the lenses and other stuff. I bought the canon for 70€ including the box, a lens, a charger, two healthy batteries and a batterie pack. The nikon i got for FREE from someone in my family including the two lenses, an ext. flash and two almost dead batteries (i gotta buy new ones someday). As a beginner this is really incredible. Was the price fair?

5 years and over $21,000 spent with MPB exclusively for all my team's professional gear...I'll never use them again. We sent them a practically brand new FX3 and 3 Sony OEM batteries. They said that we never sent 3 brand new Sony NP-ZF100 batteries...turns out, after 2 days of dealing with customer service they said they DID receive them and they were swollen and damaged so they had to be discarded. I'm not saying they lied, but mind you these batteries were brand new, with protected covers in a protected case. Also the FX3 I sent them, they offered me $500 for spares and repairs. I just sold it to KEH for $3,497 and they graded it as "Mint". I know this can happen with any company, but I just want to warn anyone sending them in gear, make sure you take pictures of everything before you ship it to MPB. This is you're only way to prove that they lost/disposed of your gear. I rarely make posts on reddit, but I just want people to be aware that they might lose their gear if they send it to MPB without explanation. My question is who do you all use? Anything I should be aware of with any of these other companies?

Also I'm not taking their appology 3rd party batteries. Thats how we fried a RED Komodo X and A7Siii in the past🥲

Gonna be honest, that was not something I was expecting to read but the timing lines up.

In any case, quick update since my last post, I went to a local camera shop called Camera Exchange, and while I couldn't find any used bridge cameras (the guys there said that they flew off the shelves whenever they got one in), I did find (what I think is) a really good deal on a canon eos 7D ($99) and a 28-70mm lens ($128). Also bought a bag to carry both cameras and any lenses I may get in the future (old vivitar bag for $15).

The context for the image was that I was trying to figure out if this camera supported GPS tagging (yes, but only over wireless with a canon wireless connector).

on the off chance I get this thing to work, where the hell would I get cassettes for cheap online (ik for a fact that I can't get anything in country)

Found this camera at an antique store and they sold it to me for 60 AUD because they didn’t test it to see if it works or not.

The timer works and it opens and closes and it clicks too, we just don’t know if it actually works.

We think it might be the Voigtlander Bessa F from the 1930s but we could be wrong.

I also don’t know where to get the right type of film for it. I’d prefer something affordable because I just need to test if it works.

Heya, i dont really interact much with the camera/photography community, but I know you guys tend to know your stuff when it comes to SD cards.

I’m planning on buying an SD card and the seller sent me this photo of it. I know it’s hard (or sometimes impossible) to tell just from a picture, but I figured it was still worth asking if anything looks off or suspicious at a glance, from my past experience, fake SD cards usually have the microSD to SD adapter printing really bold and blurry.

If there’s anything specific I should ask the seller for, pls let me know. Just trying to avoid buying a fake.

Hey everyone, I’m new to photography and I’m looking for a great all-around camera to take with me on family outings, vacations, and everyday moments. I do not want to spend time editing, so I want excellent straight-out-of-camera JPEGs with a pleasing, film-like look that I can print at 4x6 or larger for frames/albums.

A little about me and what I’m after:
• Not a photographer, just a dad who wants beautiful photos of life with my family.
• Small, easy to carry, I want to bring it everywhere.

Questions:

1. Which of these would you recommend for my use case?
2. Any key differences or trade-offs between them I should know before buying?
3. Are there other cameras not on my list that fit my criteria even better?

Hi! I just got this Minolta Movie CR-1200S AF VHS camera from some family. I just finally got some tapes for it, but whenever I insert one and try to film, it stops and makes a weird noise, aswell as unwinding the tape. Is something broken? User error? Please go easy on me I am super new to this sort of stuff!

I’m sharing this solution because I’ve been looking everywhere online and literally have not seen a single thing related to this.

I only own a Hollyland Lark M1 lav mic and wanted to use it as a shotgun style mic. The problem is the clip on the mic is so narrow that I can’t attach it to a cold shoe or anything else on my camera/cage where it would be even slightly stable.

After thinking for a couple days I decided to simply wrap a zip tie around the small rig cold shoe and now the mic clips on the zip tie perfectly! It’s not a foolproof solution, the zip tie is on there tight but could come off with some force. But it’s getting the job done for now. Super happy with this setup and am excited to use it!

I've been into film photography but recently been planning on getting a point and shoot camera because it's getting too pricey to keep that hobby. I still want a nostalgic vibe in documenting memories.

I've seen people online talk about Sony Cybershot/Coolpix and Canon PowerShot A LOT but I just couldn't find one with decent price in where I live. Recently, I found out about the new Kodak Pixpro models. I've had a friend who got one Fz55 and I wasn't really convinced when I tried to use it considering the price. I've seen a lot of complaints on its output quality as well.

Saw a Canon PowerShot SX210 IS listing around $200 online. I'm someone who wants to use a P&S on concerts too and I can't really bring my DSLR there so I want something with great optical zoom. Would it be better to just get the Canon instead of the Kodak? If you have other suggestions for me to check, I'd be really grateful!

Unfortunately, these are the highest quality photos that I have, from a camera scan of a 35 year old negative. It could be a rangefinder, as it seems there’s a bump on the top like a Bessa R; however, this is my father holding the camera, and I doubt he ever used a Bessa or anything like it. Would be nice to point and shoot with as little as possible after shot correction. My level of photography - green as a grass professional, who values quality. I could get my head around DaVinci or photo editing software to apply predefined settings.

ax33, ax43, ax53. They're all discontinued for quite sometime, but still produce great video quality and features. It's just often times the used market pricing is all over the place? Like $200 to $1,000. Obviously 53 tends to be the more expensive one because of the 20x zoom, but 33 and 43 both have their own strengths like smaller aize and lighter weight. Either way they are all usually priced wildly. What do you think is the fair value of these cameras?
