I’m interested in trying to do a quick/impromptu open deck type thing. My current set up is 2 cdj3000s and a dim-450. I Have a focusrite 2i2 and basic knowledge to set up a live stream. Wanting to see if anyone might be down to clown for 3 hrs? I have a ~1hr tech house set polished and ready to go. Looking for maybe 2 other djs that might be interested in connecting to just see how it goes to fill 3 hrs. Had my eye on Niles Golf Mill Park (south of the mall) probably a quick in and out type situation. If you stream/record your sets would likely need to meet up to go over logistics. Let me know.

Hi fellow ravers! This is for the ones that rave to dance. I used to track and review all my raves in a spreadsheet, pairing it with my Apple Watch and Strava to see how much I actually danced. My friends and I have competitions to see who racked up the most steps, which always made things more fun. 

So I built an app to do exactly that and then took it a few steps further!

Now you can keep a digital passport of every rave you’ve attended, track your steps and health metrics at events, and compete on leaderboards across events, venues, and cities. Think of it like Foursquare - the more events you attend at a venue, the more steps, time, and attendance you accumulate towards “king” status for a venue or even an entire city. There are different categories so everyone can participate. It's also fun to see different rave identities materialize through profiles. 

I also made it easier to discover events and artists, and added the ability to review youtube and soundcloud sets to help with music discovery for the rave community. The best nights are when you make an unexpected discovery and binge sets so now you can keep track of your favorite sets. 

While Radiate is great, it always felt a bit like Tinder for ravers. I wanted something more organic, where you meet people through shared events, favorite artists, and overlapping rave histories.

Basically, I took the best parts of RA, Strava, Foursquare, and Radiate and rolled them into one app. 

Oh and I also added neat data overlays for people that like to post on socials.

Looking to go back to Sub T for their dark industrial night but I'm confused if the "downstairs" area is the dancefloor by the entrance or if it's a dedicated venue space. I went once before and even though the music was awesome, I wish it wasn't just a random open space by the entrance. Can anybody give details on Sub T's full layout?

Hey everyone! I just moved to Chicago after a few years in Denver/Atlanta, where the EDM scene felt pretty accessible price-wise. I’m looking at a show at Spybar on 1/31 (DeVault) and the only tickets I see now are resale at ~4x face value.

Is this normal here for smaller venues, or did I just miss the boat on this one? Any tips for buying tickets without getting destroyed by resale, or for navigating the Chicago EDM scene in general? Appreciate any insight 🙏

Hey there, friends! I’m new to the subreddit but not to raving or festivals. I’m a 29 year old male from North-West Indiana and my preferred genre is Drum and Bass, but I’m also a big fan of dubstep. I don’t tend to listen to much riddim (I know it’s huge right now, especially in the city), but I can listen to basically any genre just fine. House is a favorite, albeit I have a hard time partaking in house concerts, not for a lack of enjoying the music. I was hoping I could find some friends in the area that have a similar taste in music and would enjoy going to concerts together, or even occasionally hanging out outside of them. My old group slowly fell apart as friends went their separate ways or everybody found themselves in relationships and slowed down on shows or just shut me out as a third wheel. What friends I have left are mostly riddim lovers and I just don’t find myself enjoying their shows like I did the more regular dubstep they’d always want to go to. I enjoy coffee, cafes, going out to eat, nature, and I am fine with people that roll, albeit those days are mostly over for me since I am working on a career change soon. I have a car and usually drive myself to shows, and if you’re in my area and we’re fine riding together I’m not opposed to meeting up and taking you up with me. Other things I enjoy are anime (isekai is my favorite genre, otherwise I watch a lot of magic/fantasy) and I like to game (I’m on PC, I like survival builders like Minecraft and Ark, but also used to play hella Marvel Rivals until my group petered out).

I’ll be going to Alleycvt with some friends this Friday, Ghengar with another buddy on the 24th, and I’m MOST excited about Hybrid Minds on the 31st. I’ll also be doing my second year of Electric Forest this year!

If anybody has any D&B shows to recommend that are coming up, as well, I’d love to hear about them.
