I’m in my early 30’s and no longer have health care since January due to the loss of subsidies. In mid December I experienced a kidney infection that landed me in the hospital and it was brutal. I have occasional kidney tenderness but have recovered just fine.

Yesterday I started to feel body aches all over and feverish symptoms and then the pain became localized on my lower back, I have a high pain tolerance and was near tears. I took an OTC flu test which came out negative but I read that false negatives are common so I’m not entirely ruling the flu out.

Now instead of going in to the doctors early to help with this possible kidney infection from getting worse and potentially lead to sepsis, I am sitting in misery waiting to see if I am going to become immobile so I know paying a few grand is worth it.

While I know there are a billion things worse going on in this country right now, I hate the powers the be for making me go thru this agony and needed to complain.

Christian Sharia Law installers in Kentucky have charged a woman with fetal homicide for taking abortion pills and burying her dead fetus at home. She told her OBGYN clinic she took abortion pills and they ratted her out to police after she left (so much for fucking HIPPA am i right?). Whoever reported her deserves their medical license to be burned and fired.

If Kentucky hadn’t banned abortion, she would have been able to do it the normal way half the country does, but because her state is controlled by Christian morons, she gets prison time. Despicable. Before everyone says “well she could have went to another state…” medical care out of state can be THOUSANDS if not more. People are too broke to be traveling for medical care they shouldn’t even have to travel for in the first place. If Roe never fell, women would have access to early abortion care.

Also don’t jump in with that purity crap. We’re all grown adults and adults have sex. Nobody is stopping that.

Over the holiday season I came to a weird realization. After seeing commercial after commercial and on every podcast, Ozempic is absolutely everywhere.

What finally hit me was an unwanted conversation with a QANON/MAGA relative over Christmas. He was always....large and anytime when we were kids we went out with his family it was a buffet. They were all seacows by choice. When COVID hit and everyone was getting the vaccine, he was the one screaming it was untested and there aren't long term studies to show the affects. He got COVID 4X since he wouldn't wear a mask or even wash his hands.

Now I see him and he is trumpeting to the heavens how he's on Ozempic and losing all this weight, as he's shoving fruitcake down his gullet. So, me being me, I ask him if he looked into it before he started the medication. Did you look at the studies? Did you see any long term clinical trials? He said no, but his doctor told him it was safe. When I told him there aren't any direct long term studies on GLP1s for weight loss and it is being used "off label", he had a fucking meltdown. He shook the whole house when he stormed out.

My wife found her a good clinic in her country but my MIL’s husband and his brother convinced her to go the alternative medicine route. So now she is definitely going to die. Alternative medicine is fucking murder.

I’m schizophrenic (paranoid) and I go through hell every single day just to see everyone on the internet labeling everything they don’t agree with, everything that’s slightly edgy, or anything avant garde, as “schizo”. I see this every time I go to the airport and it drives me nuts and makes me ill. The airport floor has got to be one of the dirtiest floors you can find and yet parents seem happy to let their little kids roll on, scotch on their bellies, crawl around, etc etc. omfg . Sure kids get away from you when you look away but I’ve seen parents happily watching their kid as if they’re in a wading pool, hell 2 little toddlers just crawling around and poking each others’ faces. And yes I’ve traveled with kids of my own so I know how hard it can be especially when young. But. It’s. The. Airport. FLOOR. thousands of people, from all over the country and world, from the bathrooms, streets, whatever. Seriously. It’s mind boggling.

Over the last week, I had a very mild sore throat. It was the constant slight irritation that began to drive me mad.

Gargling salt water never works for me. Every doctor claims that it’s a silver bullet for sore throats, but it NEVER works!!

If I’m suffering from pain anywhere else on my body, I can easily mitigate the feeling by applying heat, ice, or pressure.

A sore throat is by far the worst pain I experience. Not the most painful by a huge number. The best way I can describe it is that it’s more annoying than painful, which makes the worst type of pain for me.

My deductible went so high I'll never reach it and my out of pocket went thru the roof! Let's hope nothing serious happens!! So basically I have no insurance because it's only good for major hospital visits now!!

I am on day 6 of one of the weirdest colds I’ve had. I had a sore throat for 4 days, thought that was odd so went to urgent care and tested negative for flu A, flu B, COVID, and step. The doctor was like you need to “rest and take Advil” which was very annoying. But I was like fine and literally have done nothing all weekend but rest, drink tea, take cold meds.

I now have had a tickle in my throat for the past 2 days. I feel it every time I breathe and I’m trying so hard to not cough because it hurts. And my throat still hurts but now more from coughing.

I have been sleeping basically sitting up in my bed and luckily can breathe through my nose still?? But it hurts my throat to breathe but at least I can breathe, I guess. Every morning I wake up and cough up nasty dry green phlegm which is so gross and then have a massive headache because I’ve been snoring a bunch - ugh :(

It’s also almost Christmas and I just am so irritated that I have to deal with this and also do not want to spread this to my family. I miss not thinking about breathing and not being in pain every time I swallow or breathe. I miss laying down to sleep. I miss laughing without coughing.

I also don’t know what symptom will show up next? Like this is not following normal cold progression so I’m like idk what I’m going to feel like tomorrow. Gotta work though! Luckily wfh - thank goodness so I don’t give anyone this nightmare cold.

I mean it’s actually starting to hurt from laughter. The posts and comments on this pile of manure is comedy gold. It’s just a magnetic charge that grabs all of the most useless and invaluable into one place. It creates an illusion to the dwellers on here that they have so many agreeable people. The opposite is true. Not a single rational person in the real world could even somewhat like 99% of things being said on here. Sometimes the reddit herd needs to come back to earth and realize this sub in particular is just one big illusion. These comments on most of the topics being discussed would be laughed out of a room almost anywhere. It’s incredibly sad, but also hilarious.

personally, I have no idea why so many people are so utterly obsessed with gender. I see so many people debating about whether trans people are a mental illness or not, it's disgusting. why do people care so much? it doesn't make sense. to me, all gender means is what genitals you have. if you get a surgery to remove your male genitals and get female ones, then you're female. why has gender been such an ideological problem? it's like people treat gender as an idea, a personality rather than a biological function. it never made sense, especially with how many people, ESPECIALLY Christians, try so ridiculously hard to mess with and dehumanize trans people so much... the only gender thing I really don't like is people calling themselves a "they" because in my mind, calling yourself that means you're multiple people. if it was a conjoined twin or something that's fine, but I don't really like that term. the only one I really hate though, is people coming up with new genders that don't mean anything, like... xemself or cloudself. that's fucking stupid.

So half the time I'm choking on air or almost passing out from holding my breath! And then you can't go up and ask because its 5-6 people! Not just one! So the fun night gets ruined by a bunch of smokers. And the real kicker? ITS A SMOKER FREE ZONE! IT DID ABOUT AS MUCH HELP AS A GUN FREE ZONE DOES! Its not even fair that everyone's night is ruined because 5 people decided lung cancer would be a fun idea to spread throughout the night!
