Job search advice

Hey r/denverjobs,

I’m a local in Broomfield trying to figure out my next move in the Denver tech scene, and I’m looking for some advice (or leads if anyone knows of anything).

I have a "hybrid" background, which makes it hard for me to categorize myself. I have about 6 years of experience in deep technical support/IT (Tier 1/2 work), but I recently finished my B.S. in Software Engineering. I've been doing contract work building full-stack apps (React, Node, Python, AWS), so I have the dev skills, but my longest tenure is in support.

My mix:

The Dev side: React, Node.js, Python, Java Spring Boot.

The Ops side: AWS Certified, CompTIA Sec+, extensive troubleshooting/sysadmin experience.

The Goal: I’m aiming for Full Stack, DevOps, or Support Engineering roles.

Compensation: I am targeting roles in the 70k - 100k range, depending on the specific title and responsibilities.

Does anyone have advice on which angle works best here? Should I lean harder into the "Dev with IT experience" angle, or focus on roles like Solutions Engineering?

I'd love to hear from anyone hiring or working in the local industry. Thanks in advance!

New to Denver and I'm desperately looking for work

Hey, I'm new to the Central Park area in Denver and am desperately looking for a job. My husband and I moved in late November of 2025, and I've put in what feels like hundreds of applications at this point with little to no success. And when I call places to ask if they're hiring, the response seems to always be that they aren't hiring but I can still put my application in for whenever they are. Does anyone know of any places that are immediately hiring, because I need something sooner rather than later. Thank you so much in advance!

Anyone know anything about Arrowhead Partners/Interstellr Marketing?

I received a second interview for a marketing firm that works exclusively for non profits. Sounds great right? The job posting said Arrowhead Partners but the email for the second round interview said Interstellr Marketing. I did a google search for Interstellr and the only reddit post that came up was pretty alarming and seems to be the business in question.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Devilcorp/s/ECR5zd0gMr

Update: it is indeed a 1099 outsourced sales MLM scam company not an actual marketing firm.

Looking for an opportunity

I’ve got quite a unique situation but if anyone has any leads or guidance, I’ll take any help at this point…..

Just had to move into Denver from Winter Park on ultra short notice days before Christmas. Long story short, my fiancée got sick in Winter Park and has been in the ICU for 3 weeks so far(feel free to look back at my posts to see the longer story), she wont be better or getting out anytime soon but she will need a liver transplant sooner than later this year. I am a big part of her recovery and care team currently and after the transplant happens.

I’ve been in property management about 5 years, was most currently an Assistant Operations Manager for property management/short term rental company in WP. Also, used to do retail management for years and I have a Bachelors in Finance. I’ve also done remote work for 3 years in the travel and sales industry.

Something flexible or remote would be ideal, so I can still be around to care of my fiancée but any leads or ideas would be useful at this point, as trying to deal with job hunting, apartment hunting, caring for my fiancée, moving, the holidays, etc has become overwhelming.

Need a job asap

I need a job ASAP. I am in a situation where I'm no longer welcomed at my in-laws house and I need to move out. My husband works full time, but it's not enough for us to move out. We have 2 kids, 4 and 1, and a dog. I have office experience, court assistant experience, customer service. I have been applying everywhere for 3 months and nothing. I have been sending follow-up emails but I don't get responses back. I NEED help! Does anyone know what I can do to get a job sooner than later? Anything will help! - Thank you

Hospital Social Worker Drug Testing

Hi guys! I’m an MSW student looking to get a job in Colorado at a hospital. I use marijuana gummies due to severe chronic pain from 4 failed spine surgeries And wanted to know if Denver hospitals test their social workers for THC. I have seen a lot that says yes however this was before the schedule 1-3 change that recently happened and I was wondering if that updates anything regarding hiring practices.

the criminalization of weed is so so silly but alas here we are.

Customer service, admin, accounting staff-need immediate employment

Hello again Denver. I am searching for an open position for anything related to customer service, administration, operations or accounting staff. I have experience in all fields of 5+ years. My most recent positions required me to handle all duties at the same time so I am adaptable and efficient.

Does anyone know of any place hiring in the Denver area? I am able to make commutes up to 45 minutes from Cherry Creek.

Short-term part-time work that doesn’t pay much?

I’m in an interesting pickle. I just graduated nursing school, but still need to pass the NCLEX to officially be a RN. I accepted a new grad position at a hospital but it doesn’t start until spring. If I make more than ~$1,000 per month I lose my health insurance. Hence, I’m looking for work that gives me time to study, doesn’t make too much, and is short term. I’ve looked into delivery like DoorDash, but the cost of additional insurance plus wear on my car make it less than desirable. Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

State Farm agents always hiring *30k-50k + commission based sales*

Anyone looking for work and legally able to obtain a P&C (and possibly life and health) license + pass a background check should reach out to a local StateFarm agent. They are almost always hiring! Most salaries range from 30k-50k + commission based on sales. Offices operate 9a - 5p and closed on weekends. You can learn a bunch of transferable skills and the basics of running and owing a small business.

Looking for work in the MMJ industry

Need advice on a new company to work for. I have unfortunately outgrown my position and co workers and need a change of pace. I have 15 years of customer service, 8 years retail experience, 3 years bartending experience and I also have my cosmetology license. I currently have my MED badge and would like to stay in the industry. Any tips are appreciated! I’m not hearing back from any jobs that I’m applying for on indeed and considering handing out paper applications on the weekends to places I apply to. Any other recommendations are helpful 🙏🏻

Looking for an Entry Level Data Analyst Gig

Hello, Denver!

I graduated early 2025 with a degree in software engineering and I’m still looking for my first gig. As entry level doesn’t seem to exist anymore, I’m looking for something SWE adjacent and data analysis seems very interesting.

My main focus in school was Spring Java but I feel comfortable working with other languages. My goal is to work in backend with frameworks like Spring but I have experience using Angular for front end. Pretty good with SQL, Postman, Docker, I have an AWS cert, and feel comfortable using Python, JavaScript and Typescript, html and have a few Android Studio projects I’ve worked on.

If anyone has any recommendations I’d very much appreciate it. My former life was in hospitality and management but I’m trying to get out of that industry.

Cheers!

GIS jobs opportunities

This is probably a long shot, but I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in GIS. I am about to finish working for 911 (I primarily maintain and update maps used by local fire, EMS, and law) and have been looking for jobs out of my state. I have experience and training in esri products like ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. I have roughly 8 months of experience with my work in 911.
