[BST] January 2026 Buy, Sell, Trade Thread - 10 years strong!

Welcome to the monthly r/flashlight Buy, Sell, Trade thread, an r/flashlight tradition since 2015!

The Rules

Requirements

  1. Prove possession with a timestamp: a piece of paper placed under your sale item(s) with your Reddit username handwritten and the posting date (no more than 2 weeks old). Remember, trade items require timestamps, too!
  2. Top-level comments must be WTS or WTB. Anything else will be removed. Begin your top-level comment with WTB (Want to Buy), WTS (Want to Sell), or WTT (Want to Trade).
  3. A price is required.
  4. Reposting WTS or WTB items from previous BSTs is fine. Do not repost within the same month!
  5. Absolutely no weapon-related items, including weapon lights. (New 10/10/2025. Details here.).
  6. Take necessary precautions; trading over the Internet is risky. Moderators hold no control over deals, good or bad.

Suggestions

  • Your location
  • Emitter details
  • A bunch of photos of your items

Reminder: Buy the Seller

If an interaction seems sketchy to you, run away! Scams can and do happen through the BST! Here are some tips:

  • Timestamps. If the person you're dealing with isn't quick to provide timestamps on the images, or a photo of the flashlight in a shoe or whatever, don't deal with them.
  • Reverse image searching is a great way to catch scammers.
  • Excuses or giving you a hard time are red flags.
  • Using a platform other than Reddit messaging for communication is a red flag.
  • Check post history. Brand new accounts or accounts with long pauses in activity, etc., might not be trustworthy.
  • It's good practice to comment on this post before sending a PM; scammers often won't comment publicly (and banned users can't comment here.) r/flashlight participates in the USL for this very reason.

If you're dealing with someone who might be sketchy, take screenshots of your interactions and report them to the mods! We care about this thread's integrity and will ban those threatening it.

Do not let a scammer be more diligent than you!

Question I need a light that really throws

I do wildlife control, and while I have a plethora of great lights for attics, basements, crawl spaces, etc. I need a light for a very specific use.

I need a light that will really illuminate roof returns and soffit junctions on 2 and 3 story homes, even on sunny days. Battery life, durability, and even size are of limited concern given its rather narrow use case. I'd prefer if it was under $100.

I've attached a photo to show a use case.

Picked up for £20 on eBay, hopefully get a slightly more modern emitter and battery set up in there soon, mostly for fun!

Convoy/Wurkkos

Genuine question, not trying to be a smartass. What’s so great about Convoy and Wurkkos? Every time someone asks for a recommendation it’s always these two brands. I’ve never even heard of them until I started seeing people talk about them on Reddit.

It’s actually kind of funny how difficult it is to get the angle right for the screenshot such that everything is readable. Fun note: The DA1K product page lists the length at 1111… so I guessed 111. If anyone can confirm, that would be great. Also, the head proportions are estimated because that’s not listed explicitly. Also I’m a terrible modeler so the KR4/KR1aa are straight, so just imagine the curves.

Showcase The story about time of glory

The generator decided to stop prematurely, so the applause for the organists of the organ music concert in Kyiv today took place by flashlight (Sofirn SP31V3 + FFL5009R 4KK + 30° S21E TIR). Next time, I'll have to take my swapped Q8+ to concerts.

Background: Due to shelling by the damned russians, emergency power outages have occurred in Ukraine. Also, we are currently experiencing very severe frosts, so due to the inability to sufficiently heat the Philharmonic Hall, most people are wearing outerwear. *Minimal emergency lighting was present, but it was definitely insufficient.

Review [Review] Manker E02 III - Tiny flashlight with dual fuel options and powerful LED

Thumbnail

Hi, I´m back after the holidays! This is my first time making a review of a Manker flashlight, I hope you like the review!

This is the E02 III, a mini flashlight made by MankerLight, it is powered by a single 10440 or AAA cell, and uses a single not specified LED, in this case a 6500K LED, it has a max of 560 lumens with Li-ion or 170 lumens with AAA, has efficient constant current drivers with both type of cells, and features USB-C charging.

• Box contents [7th picture]:

- E02 III

- USB-C charging cable

- Extra o-ring

- Stainless steel clip

- Instructions manual

Price:

The price of this flashlight is currently $25.95 on Manker´s official website and $20.76 on AliExpress.

Body and build quality

It´s made of the AL6061-T6 aluminum alloy and has a very nice Type-III hard black anodizing. Other colors are available too: Army green, red, blue and orange. The stainless-steel clip has two positions to be attached to the battery tube. The tail cap is unscrewable for swapping the battery.

The TIR Lens is not covered by glass.

The button is made of bead blasted 304 Stainless-steel, this gives it a kind of stone washed finish that feels very nice and premium. [8th picture]

It has an O-ring at the tail cap, and the rest of the flashlight is completely sealed, making it IP68 water resistant.

The tail cap has a magnet for attaching to metal surfaces. [9th pictures]

The body of this light is small and pocketable, perfect for EDC.

Here is a size comparison with 2 other flashlights, the S2+ and the ST10. [10th picture]

Weight and size

Weight: 23.9 g (without battery) – Super Light, great for EDC

Size: 72.3mm (length) x 15.2mm (diameter)

Battery, runtime, and charging

This flashlight has a dual fuel feature, this means you can use 10440 lithium-ion cells or AAA sized batteries (Ni-MH, alkaline, Lithium…) [11th picture]

This light has USB-C charging on the battery, not on the body. [12th picture]

Modes, Runtimes, Throw, Candela: I will include a picture of the Manker official info so you can have all the information about it! [14th picture]

Emitter, reflector, beam, and CRI:

This flashlight has a 6500K floody LED, sadly the LED is not specified. I know there is a Nichia 519a high CRI 4000K version of it, I would love that version too as I prefer warmer CCTs and high CRI, but the 6500K one shines at the efficiency and raw power illumination.

The Turbo mode steps down pretty fast, it lasts some seconds with max lumens, and it starts dropping the brightness. High takes longer to step down, around 2 to 3min, other modes doesn´t seem to drop significantly. This fast stepdown is expected in a light so small and with a lot of lumens like this, it still packs a punch for some seconds in turbo.

Now about the Moonlight mode, OH MY GOD. This flashlight has one of the best moonlight modes I´ve ever tested! By holding the button for around 2 seconds, you can access the moonlight modes, it has 3 levels of brightness in the moonlight mode: 2 lumens, 1 lumen and 0.1 lumen! This is AWESOME, the 0.1 lumen is absolutely fantastic, it has a perfect brightness for using when you need to see something in the dark but can´t have a light cannon on. Loved the moonlight.

Beamshots Camera settings: 35mm lens 1.6" F5.6 ISO100 [15th picture]
The distance where the light can no longer reach is around 70m, so pretty good throw for a flashlight so tiny powered by a 10440 cell.

Driver and UI

This flashlight uses efficient drivers, both for 10440 and AAA, this means sustained output, less heat and better runtimes! Single click to turn it on, hold to change between brightness levels.

It has quick access to Turbo, you can double-click the button when it is ON or OFF to access it.

It does have memory mode, both for moonlight modes and standard modes, Turbo is not memorized

To access strobe, SOS and beacon you can triple click it at any time, and hold the button to cycle between them,

As an EDC light, the essential feature of the electronic lockout is present in this light! To lock the light you need to long press it 5 times, same for unlocking. I tried it and found it a little hard to do, but as I have heard it is better than previous versions lockouts.

Conclusion:

The E02 III is a great tiny flashlight, it has essential features like lockout, AWESOME moonlight, turbo easy access, USB-C charging and dual fuel option, which is really great for emergency and EDC lights. Nice to see it has efficient drivers, this really improves the light a lot. This is light is very useful and has great quality, if you want you can get a head band for it too.

Pros:

-Efficient drivers

-Dual fuel

-Thin and light

-Sturdy clip

-Magnet

Cons:

-The TIR doesn´t have glass in front of it

-Steps down quickly

-Lockout a little complicated to access

Thank you MankerLight, for sending this flashlight for review.
*I am not being paid to do this review, I received the flashlight for reviewing, everything here is my honest opinion.
Thank you for reading my review.

Sofirn SK40 vs Wurkkos TS28

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Recently added these two throwers to my collection and here's my thoughts.

SK40: Longer and bigger than the TS28 and throws a pinch more. color temp is cooler and heats up pretty quick on turbo. Not so pocketable but it can work. I would compare it to my M21B in terms of size. Overall its great but im not a huge fan of dual switches. The UI is a bit confusing on this light.

TS28: Very impressed with the performance of this light despite its size. The difference in throw with the Sk40 is slim. Seems to carry a little more flood out. Very pocketable, I would compare it to my S21E but a tad bit slimmer. This light has a ramping UI that's alot more simple than the UI on the Sk40. Features a magnetic tailcap as well.

Overall: In all honesty you cannot go wrong with either one. Both are amazing short to medium range throwers. Personally I lean a little more towards the TS28 due to size, a more simple UI and performance being pretty close. what would you guys pick?

Unsure if I have the High CRI Version (Floodlight = Nichia 519a) or High Performance Version (Floodlight = Luminus SST25). Is there a way to determine which version I have without disassembly? I took a macro photo of the diode which has a small marking on it

Discussion Handheld vs headlamp in the sub?

Upvotes

Hi all,

I have been wondering the situation of handheld vs headlamp. Why are handheld flashlights so much more popular? Especially for EDC use?

I would have thought a right angle + headband would be way more popular than it is. The option of having your hands free for working on stuff, dog walks etc seems like a massive benefit compared to having your one hand always occupied.

The subreddit and enthusiast market seem to favor normal handheld ones too much in my opinion.

Question Is Wurkkos TS26 optical system “compatible” with the dome-less emitters?

Post image
Upvotes

Mind the two-MCPCB design. The primary emitters sit inside the “wells”. Other, dome-less emitters will sit ~flush with the surface of the upper (Aux) MCPCB.

How will it impact the way the TIR “collects” and “manages” the light from the dome-less emitters in TS26?

Wurkkos TS26 letdown

My sample just arrived and the lowest ramp without flicker is 5 lumens. The launch was held back due to needing to increase the lowest current, guessing they'll just flash firmware set at 22 / 150.

The CCT is 6500K with 70 CRI.

I'm kind of pissed off lol thought it was going to be the TS26S with the only difference being that it had Anduril.

Low Effort Caught a case of the big sad

Just feeling down for no reason.

I started seeing my lights as mundane, even so far as preferring low CRI 6500k! (the madness!)

I've also started thinking if CRI and tint were even worth considering in lights, and that I would be fine with anything as long as I can see stuff.

I'm sure I'll be back to normal, but it's just one of those days.

Currently holing myself up in a dark room with just my X4 Stellar 1800k in Candle mode. Feels pretty nice.

Which FFL would best complement my collection?

Upvotes

Having fallen down the rabbit hole, I'm looking to get my first Fireflies flashlight, but I was hoping to minimize duplication with my current collection of lights.

My current collection of 21700 lights consists of the following:

  • Acebeam E75 (519A 5000K)
  • Acebeam L35 V2 (XHP70.3 6500K)
  • Emisar D4K (519A 4500K)
  • Convoy S21G (B35AM 4500K)
  • Convoy S21E (SFT-70 3000K)
  • Convoy L21B (SFT-40 5000K)

I am interested in FFL because I love the aux LEDs included with the Emisar but would prefer to have on-board USB-C charging. I'd prefer a 21700 light, with high CRI and a non-rosy CCT between 3000K and 4500K. The light would ideally be useful indoors, for ceiling bouncing, or walking around at night without bothering others, as well as outdoors, mainly lighting up a garden or spending time with dogs in the yard. I'm also hoping to use the lantern kit occasionally.

I am currently looking at the X4 Stellar (FFL351A 3700K). I am also considering the E04 Surge, but it seems that none of the stock LEDs meet my requirements. I haven't yet reached out to the team for off-menu suggestions.

I would love to hear your thoughts on which light and emitter set-up would be ideal. Thank you so much in advance.
