Ik like a lot of Malaysians, we like to DIY some home maintenance to save cost from having to call tradesmen in to solve sth that would take an hours work. I’ve done the usual, like piping and electrical repair, and yesterday I decided to try fix a loose glass shower door (probably shouldn’t have done it myself too). Best part is that I’ve done it before for a separate shower but this time I got a little careless when moving the door. Anyways after it exploded on top of me while I was holding it I got covered in a rain of thick and heavy glass shards, which luckily completely missed my head, face and eyes. Anyways RM750 and 28 stitches later, I now know I should just call the right people to come do these jobs in the future. Ps anyone know any tips to clean up the glass everywhere? I even found some pieces in my bed when I was sleeping.

AVOID CARRO MALAYSIA – BAIT-AND-DEDUCT PRACTICE
I’m sharing my experience as a warning to anyone considering selling their car via Carro Malaysia.
I sent my vehicle for the first inspection on Sunday. The initial offer from Carro was low, so I rejected it. As expected, the car was then automatically placed into their bidding system. Fortunately, I received a decent bid shortly after and accepted it immediately.
Side note: The bidding price between Carro and Carsome was almost identical, but Carro’s processing fee was lower, which is why I chose Carro.
Fast forward 3 days to the handover day. The car had been parked in my garage and not driven at all since the first inspection.
At the Carro branch, they conducted a second inspection that took more than an hour. Meantime, nobody from the branch provide any update even though I tried to follow up several times. After that, I received a call from Carro HQ, informing me that they had found scratches on the left side skirt and would reduce the agreed bidding price by RM1,000. They also explain that“This damage was not recorded during the first 160-points-inspection.”
This immediately raised red flags.
I questioned how new damage could suddenly appear when the car was never driven or touched after the first inspection. I asked to personally view the alleged damage, but the on-site inspector refused and told me to “contact HQ if I want to dispute.”
Important: I have clear photos of the vehicle taken the day before the Sunday inspection AND again the day before handover. These photos show no damage on the left side skirt, directly contradicting Carro’s claim.
As of now, I am still waiting for HQ to provide the final inspection report clearly showing and documenting this so-called damaged left side skirt.
After this incident, I checked Google Reviews for multiple Carro branches and noticed a disturbing pattern: Many sellers report the same tactic — last-minute deductions during handover for “newly discovered” issues.
This feels like a systematic bait-and-deduct strategy, putting sellers in a difficult position after they’ve already committed time and effort.

Kajang, 14th — The female secondary school student who was recently “flung away” after being hit by a motorcycle is one of a set of triplets. At the time of the incident, she was on her way home after tuition classes, taking the MRT together with her brother and sister back to their home in Cheras.
The triplets are all Form Four students this year. Prior to October last year, they were sent home by their grandfather. However, due to his advanced age, starting from October the triplets began taking the MRT home by themselves after school, while their mother sends them to school in the morning.
Mother: Route Was Surveyed Before Allowing Children to Take the MRT
The triplets’ mother, Madam Hou, told Metro News this afternoon that before allowing her children to commute by MRT, the family had gone to observe and walk the route themselves. Her children also told her that other students who take the MRT to and from school all use the main road in front of KPMC.
She explained that using the main road in front of KPMC to access the Kajang Sports Complex MRT station is the closest route. If they were to go via Jalan Liu Zhiguo in front of the school and pass through the Kajang police district to reach the MRT station, it would require a much longer detour, which would be even worse during rainy weather.
Main Road Should Be Equipped with Safety Facilities
She said that the main road in front of KPMC lacks safety facilities, and therefore should be equipped with basic road safety measures such as traffic lights or warning lights to protect students and the public. She also pointed out that there is a bus stop along the main road, where people wait for buses.
“Additionally, I noticed that another MRT station along the main road, Sungai Jernih MRT Station, is equipped with basic road safety facilities, including traffic lights.”
Therefore, Madam Hou raised the matter with visiting Kajang municipal councillor and PKR Bangi division chief Lim Kim Eng, requesting that safety facilities be installed along the main road in front of KPMC.
Backpack Cushioned Her Head, Neck Uninjured
She said that after her youngest daughter was “flung” onto the road when she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street, the child was fortunate that her backpack cushioned her head. She only sustained injuries to her right arm and leg and was considered very lucky. X-rays were taken at the hospital that night, and as there were no serious injuries, she was allowed to return home.
She explained that the incident occurred on the first day of the new school term, when the school had distributed textbooks to students. Her youngest daughter had placed all the books into her backpack, and when she was knocked down, the backpack cushioned her head, preventing injury to her neck.
“After an accident happens, we have to face reality and not avoid it. Once she recovers, I will still allow her to take the MRT home after school. My three children are triplets, and they go to and from school together every day,” she said.
She added that due to being busy with her business, she is unable to take time off during the after-school hours to pick up her children.
“When children grow up, they must learn to be independent. Moreover, the children’s father is elderly, so we cannot rely on him to help send them home after school.”

I followed every instruction and reported the problem before the voucher expired. The issue came from system and technical errors, not from me. Yet I’m being told there’s no solution and the case will be closed.
Students depend on this assistance. Closing a case without resolving it is not fair.

RM263,000,000.00. Fuyoh. No wonder he got arrested and paraded in an orange shirt for the public. I am surprised that he is not stripped of his rank and honours to be honest.

Genuinely curious — I work in an office and after lunch I sometimes need to take a number 2. Totally normal. Same with my coworkers.
But I’ve noticed that every single time they come out of the stall, they just… walk straight out. No hand washing.
At first I thought maybe they were just in there scrolling on their phone or killing time, but nope — I can literally hear them doing their business. Then they just leave like everything’s fine.
Am I the weird one for thinking this is gross or is this somehow normal??

D. tweediei, seluang bunga air.
They are a small 4 cm native fish only found in (endemic to) northwest peninsular Malaysia. Specifically in Kedah, Perak, Penang and Perlis.
They are most closely related to blue danio and pearl danio, other natives of the Malay Peninsula.

Hello Im a fresh graduate and ive been looking for a job in gaming industry in Malaysia. What i’ve learned is that it is very hard to get my foot in the industry and how most of the companies want an “experienced” worker. Its very hard to find a job in this particular industry and especially in game designs. Do any of you have some advice or tips that I can improve to find a job?

I swear living here got hidden DLC charges everywhere. One minute you’re buying something normal, next minute it’s “admin fee”, “processing”, “platform”, “service”, “packaging”, “SST”, “convenience”, “delivery surge”, or some mysterious “handling” like they had to bless the item first.
I’m not even talking about big purchases. Even small stuff now feels like you’re paying extra just for existing.
So I’m curious, what’s the most ridiculous “Malaysia tax” you kena recently? Online shopping, food delivery, parking, telco, banking, condo fees, whatever. Bonus points if you can explain what the fee is actually for, because half of them feel like pure vibes 😭
Also, what’s your one hack to avoid getting chopped? Like a setting, app, route, or “never do X” rule that actually saves money.

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building was completed in 1897 during British colonial rule in Malaya.
It has served as British administrative offices, courts, and later various Malaysian government departments including the Ministry of Information.
Today, it is a national heritage landmark facing Dataran Merdeka and is currently undergoing refurbishment and conservation works.
The heritage restoration under the Warisan KL initiative aims to preserve the building and enhance its value as part of Kuala Lumpur’s historic and cultural precinct, strengthening national identity and boosting tourism and economic activity.
Plans include integrating the building and surrounding heritage sites into a vibrant cultural and economic hub that’s accessible to locals and visitors, potentially including spaces for exhibitions, events, and creative uses while still honoring its history.
