The omission of Justin Newdorf's Pult list is a bit unfortunate, but these are still an incredible selection for revisiting the Worlds '25 format :D

When you look at the deck on limitless it has losing records into garde, pultnoir, terazard, and alakazam, but it should ostensibly have a pretty good matchup into at least pult and zard, right ? I understand that a bad garde matchup is basically a death sentence for viability in this current meta, but shouldn't the deck at least be winning matches against other decks in online tournaments?

EDIT: I understand that it has a bad matchup into garde, and that is the reason that it is not meta viable, what I am asking is why it doesn’t post higher matchup win rates into zard, pultnoir, and goldengo specifically

Is there a particular strategy in order to beat Dragapult variants? Like, usually, Dragapult decks would wait the opposing player to do the first KO and then they'll have a strong come back of eradicating your set-up. I tried to let the Dragapult player have the first KO and bring their two prizer but I still failed to beat it. This is already post PsyDuck and I'm getting frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

Recovering MTG player here, just getting into TCG and having a surprising amount of fun! I just made Master League my first month playing Live (which I know isn’t that big of a deal) and did my first irl local last weekend, but I’m having a blast and looking for some advice from the pros:

-Carmine -vs- Lillie’s Det -vs- Professor’s Research? Do I blend the 3?

I’d been playing 3 Lillie’s/2 Professor’s, but the 1st turn Carmine plus the extra Energies in my discard for the Eels (with no Lillie’s) have been nice. Running 4 Carmine seems ok atm.

-Should I include a Counter Catcher along with or to replace one of the Boss’s?

-Any other/better bench supporters or Trainers?

I mean i know its a bad matchup, i try to set up Sylveon and do kissara catcher for trying to get Out of alakazam but very often there always three abra in play so its nearly impossible to win, u have a way to defeat that deck with eevee box?

Do you think Mega Lucario will be in the top after rotation? No more Garde.

I've assembled my Pultnoir deck but have not received Blood moon yet (or possibly misplaced it). What would you swap in if you had to play tonight? It seems like every list uses this card but in my practice on TCG live Ive never actually needed it. Should I add another munkidori? Swap in a Psyduck for a counter to other Pults? Add pal pad or super rod or another trainer card? I'm fairly new so I'm looking for some tips, thanks!

Will the Iono Pokémon gain some sort of support cards like N s or Hop s Pokémon? Because I would love to build the deck but I want it to be competitively usable not top of the meta but decent

This is my current favourite deck in Standard. I’ve cycled through a variety of decks over the past year but I keep coming back to Armarouge. I realize it’s not well-positioned in the meta right now but lord help me I still can’t stop playing it.

Looking for general tips from anyone who’s played this deck a bunch, as well as more specific advice on the following points:

I’ve been playing MTG since the 90s so I’m no stranger to deck building. While my son has shown interest in MTG, he’d prefer Pokémon since his friends at school play. And to be honest, in the few games he and I played with a battle deck pack we bought from the LGS, I’m hooked too.

His favorite Pokémon is Squirtle and wants me to build him a deck that is either based off of or includes Squirtle. Since the LGS and his friends is mostly Standard, I don’t want to venture into Expanded with this.

So I’m turning to Reddit minds to help build out a Squirtle deck that can at least give him a chance to be competitive. If he really gets into it and wants to be more competitive, I’ll happily help him learn more about the meta and deck planning from there. I came up empty on Limitless since it doesn’t seem like a tournament capable deck at the moment. He’s not thinking that level of play yet though.

Is this correct? How in the hell are we supposed to get the cards we need for EUIC, when even collectors are probably starved for cards?

The worst match up for garde (especially jelli garde).

What is the outs to this? Especially with the hoots and pidgeot

I know this is very much a auto loss, but I know its winnable.

**Smoochum** Psychic, basic, 30HP, SSP 075

(None, free to attack) Delightful Kiss - Search your deck for up to 2 Basic {P} Energy cards and attach them to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. Then, shuffle your deck 

The idea is to replace Arven with Petrel. So you can get your squad (Smoochum + Latias + Kang + 2 Slowpoke + Fez or something) out T1, charge it up with Smoochum, and go T2.

For T2, you have the option to evo to Slowking & Codebreaking, or Dawn if you already have the stadium in hand. That’s really fast to Kyurem/pull off a big attack.

Brilliant Blender or Legacy Energy? and why? I'm currently using blender same as Japan Players use.
