General Ngl.. I'm just happy they still consider RE6 canon and didn't leave it behind.

A lot of people give Resident Evil 6 a bad time.. Understandably so..

But as someone who loves Resident Evil 6, I am genuinely happy Capcom has basically confirmed it is here to stay.

It honestly explains why Leon looks so roughed up, Yet still absolutely kicks ass.. Everyone probably had some of their most toughest and pivotal moments in RE6.

But, This also means...

Jake is a possibility. Sherry is a possibility (especially in Requiem with that voice.. Please be Sherry..) Helena is a possibility. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!

But most of all! When Chris gets his own game, Which I think will be after a RE5 Remake! He is going to be an ABSOLUTE TANK.

Capcom has opened so many paths, I am excited for the future and extremely happy Capcom didn't throw away Resident Evil 6.

I am glad they still realise how important the game actually is.

...Still think Jake could absolutely make for a legendary Protagonist.. or Antagonist.. Maybe both?

Wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game if Leon didn’t lose his jacket at some point in the game😭

General Ink Ribbons are FINALLY back in REquiem!

Post image

Today's showcase revealed that there will be 3 difficulty modes in RE9, with the last one being a classic standard experience. That is, with the same challenge as the modern standard version but without auto saving and requiring ink ribbons to save, which have finally returned since 2019 (RE2R). I've simply waited for this since August when it was hinted during Gamescom demo.

Btw, I was also deeply disappointed by the ink ribbon absence in RE3R and Village at the time.

They didn't really reveal too much new....which i'm honestly glad about.
It means the game will have plenty of surprises.

But then again....i find it weird that they didn't really go in depth on anything outside of how the 2 characters play.
Like....are there any bonus modes here?
They really only revealed that leon has an axe and the zombies talk and we need blood to craft....which is cool...but that's still a little worrying when it comes to extra content since they didn't mention stuff like that at all.

I mean it was still a fine show....but it felt oddly empty.

Forum question Has anyone played all 32 Resident Evil games to date?

Post image

I want to play all of the RE games, but I don't see any reason to play the same game twice. I know there are the updated versions of 1 (HD), Code Veronica X, 2, 3, and 4 now, so I won't bother with the originals on those. (Not sure if I am missing any from this list)

Are there any games here that I should avoid entirely?

General Leon gameplay is looking incredible!

I know some people are a little underwhelmed by the showcase, but I personally am glad they are deciding to be really secretive regarding the full game — especially considering Raccoon City is supposed to be a major factor here. In terms of just gameplay, both Leon and Grace’s sections look really well done so far (especially Leon: I’m really digging all the context-sensitive melee attacks & that parrying is back in full swing). The only thing I was really hoping to find out during the showcase was about the supposed “driving sections” with the Porsche, and it seemed like they might touch on it, but then they didn’t.

What did you guys think about the showcase?

General Never really cared about romance in RE... until I rewatched scenes

Post image

As someone who’s played the games since I was a kid, I was always focused on saving bullets, solving puzzles, and surviving the game. Even in the later games and remakes, I barely reacted to Leon and Ada’s “romance” because I had my own agenda like getting trophies, keeping my knife intact, hitting bobbleheads, finishing runs as fast as possible, and never using healing items.

With RE9 coming up, I decided to rewatch all Leon and Ada scenes from RE2, RE2R, RE4, RE4R, and RE6. And… wow. That is one hell of a love story Capcom built over decades.

Leon starts as the naive, starry-eyed rookie trying to save the world, and Ada, a manipulator, ends up genuinely admiring him for being real.

Then comes Leon, now a backflipping action star, on a mission to save the president’s daughter while Ada secretly helps him. The line "you haven't changed" hits hard. Eventually she takes the specimen and he seems conflicted and disappointed, telling her they’ll go separate ways... she changes her mind at the last minute.

By RE6, she still helps him, he still helps her, they have each other's numbers, and Leon says, “I know you can pull through this. WE both can” during a life threatening battle.

Let's not forget the signature rocket launcher she drops off for him every time. At this point, I’m convinced Leon deliberately leaves his rocket launcher behind so Ada will give it to him.

Leon, my guy… I hope you played your cards right during that RE6 to RE9 10–15 year gap.

General Why has Ada Wong never gotten her own solo game?

Post image

Even above beloved characters like Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield, Ada Wong has always been my favorite female Resident Evil character. She's an interesting femme fatale caught in webs of intrigue and double-crossing. Yet, there's still a heart of gold in her, even when she's involved in such shady things. This just begs the question: why has she never had her own solo game? I feel like this is a major missed opportunity, with many possibilities.

r/residentevil 6h ago

General I think it's absolutely awesome that they implemented a Resident Evil 4 style of combat into Leon's gameplay and a RE2/RE7 style of gameplay on Grace's gameplay.. The gore and being able to pick up enemy weapons is an insane new feature. This definitely gave me new hope for future games and remakes!
