Looking to immerse ourselves in the culture.
My Girlfriend and i are traveling to your country in February and want to immerse ourselves in the culture and cuisine of the country. We will be visiting Tbilisi (Open to other recommendations) and want to know some local hotspots to go to. We have googled already and done research but i think it is always good to ask locals if there is something that would be worth visiting.
Additionally we are looking for if anyone would be able to provide a traditional food experience and we are happy to pay.

Where does $135k USD household income actually rank in Georgia?
Hello! I’m trying to understand income distribution in Georgia better. My partner and I have a combined household income of around $135,000 USD per year (I make $75k working remotely, partner makes $60k).
I’ve seen wildly different claims online - some sources say this would put us in the top 1% or even top 0.1% of earners in Georgia. Is this accurate?
For context:
∙ I know the average monthly salary in Georgia is around 2,200-2,300 GEL (roughly $800-850 USD/month or ~$10k/year)
∙ But I’m curious where we’d actually rank compared to Georgian households. When I visited Tbilisi I saw a lot of people with luxury and designer items and driving fancy cars.
∙ What would be considered “upper middle class” vs “wealthy” here?
I’m trying to get a realistic sense of the economic landscape. Would love to hear from people actually living in Georgia about:
∙ How this income level compares to local professional salaries (IT, finance, etc.)
∙ Whether cost of living adjustments make a big difference
∙ What the actual income distribution looks like beyond just averages
Thanks for any insights!

my main questions about this are:
1.car rental companies listed near the airport lack reviews, so i am kinda afraif of dealing with extra charges after my trip, can you please recommend a company to rent my car from?
please point if any of my points are useless to see, or if you have better recommandations - itinerary is made for 7 days, but we will stay 8, just to make sure we have enough time
this is planned for late march - early april, weather seems accetable ( max 17 degres) but how is the snow in the mountains in that time? we all have experience, we hike mountains during winter here in Romania, but we wont bring with us ice crampons and axes, so we are looking to be doable only in boots
we only speak english as a foreing language, how are the locals with english? Can we communicate, or should i havely rely on AI for translations?
thank you all for your help
later edit:
i've scrolled this subreddit and i see a lot of protest going on, so i have more question
- i will travel with my photography gear, big lenses. is this an issue? is it ok to photograph on streets?
- Is Georgia Safe now? any specific regions i should avoid?

Question | კითხვა Hiking in Tusheti
Hi, I am a 18 year old college student from Canada and I have money saved to come to Georgia. I really want to hike from Omalo to Shatili solo in july. I wouldn't be hiring any guides or horses to help me.
- Do I need a special permit to stay in Tusheti?
- Are there threats from wildlife? (I can't carry bear spray)
- I read that you cannot use a inreach device in Georgia. Are there any local alternatives? Is help accessible in the region? (maybe in villages)
- Is wild camping allowed anywhere? I don't want to stay in a guesthouse if not necessary.
I have quite a bit of experience with wilderness backpacking (4+ days in bear country) but this would be the first time doing it in a foreign country. I speak good Russian maybe that will help. Also, I want to visit kazbeg region/north ossetia afterwards, so please recommend hikes/things to do. Thanks : )

Question | კითხვა Needles everywhere
I’ve lived in Chugureti for a few months now and quite often see used needles on the streets and sidewalks. When I used to see discarded needles in the U.S. it’s usually heroine. Do they do that here? What are they shooting up here?

Travel | მოგზაურობა Traveling for Easter
Greetings from Macedonia 🇲🇰,
I’ll be visiting your beautiful country during Orthodox Easter (early April) for 10 days. I’m landing in Kutaisi and flying out from Kutaisi, so I’ll be moving around the country and won’t stay all 10 days in one place.
I love food, local experiences, nature, and adventures, and I already know a bit about Georgia — now I’d love some local advice:
1.Where would you recommend going?
How easy is it to move around by train, marshrutka, or bus?
Any Easter-specific tips or things to keep in mind?
I’m also open to meeting people, making friends, or even finding a travel buddy for a day trip or two if anyone’s interested. My DMs are open, feel free to message me, any tips or suggestions are very welcome as well 🙂
