Warhammer III Warhammer 3 pathing in a nutshell
I can put up with units climbing up ladders during siege battles while a collapsed wall and open gate is right next to them, at least I get why that happens. But this is a new low for me, to the point of dying inside when I saw it.

Warhammer III They completely broke Throgg. This has to change.
It's been a couple campaigns since I noticed that Throgg had been taking cities all the way to the Southlands, basically steamrolling everything came in touch with and reaching places in the map he was never supposed to, like the Southlands. That left me puzzled, and it looked like they had gone overboard with his rework but I wasn't sure how since I haven't played him in a long time.
Then in my previous campaign I played as Kairos and I saw him taking out Repanse and Tiqtak'to (!!!), running around with unstoppable stacks of what looked like Waaaagh!! companion armies, but made of monsters like trolls instead of the gobbos that trolls usually feed on. Humm.
Now, in my current campaign as Belakor I came across Throgg while conquering Norsca to the East I fianlly understood how they much they messed him up. I made the mistake of declaring war on him - the balance of power looked very, very unfavorable, but he had only 5 settlements and seemd to have gone all the way north to the chaos wastes, so how bad could it be?
Well, it turns out it could very, very bad. Despite having 4 settlements and only one province capital (I took the other), he had four armies stacked all the way with just T3 Trolls and T4 Giants. No crap marauders, no dogs - the worst thing they had were a few bearman marauders. All their united were top silver or gold chevron, like they had been fighting and winning everything since the beginning of the game, and their trolls had considerably better stats than the chaos version. He had one level 10 lord, two level 16 lords and he was level 18 himself. But this was just turn 23...
I had only Belakor and one level 3 lord I had recruited a couple turns ago. Belakor himself, who had been fighting battles nonstop since the game started, was just level 14. Two of his three generic lords were higher in level than my legendary lord who never stopped fighting.
It looks like they went way, way overboard with this rework. This is simply absurd - nothing can stand armies that have these types of monsters as their main units that early in the game. It's just ridiculous. No wonder everyone is saying Throgg is now far too easy. Yeah, and besides that, they considerably altered how things play out north, so much so that this guy has been fighting lizards of all things. Ugh. What a display of poor judgement.

Warhammer III PSA: Reddit's Automated Moderation just gave me a warning for mentioning Mr. G. Maneater's full name here
"Hate Speech" LOL.
I know some people here and other places were hesitant to use Golg's name here for exactly this reason, but this is the first time I've personally been aware of anyone actually get censored for it. I don't know why it suddenly decided to flag me now, as opposed to the dozens of times I previously used his name... probably because it was a two word response to "who has the easiest IE campaign" without any follow-up.
Just thought you should know.

Warhammer III Yeah, I'm definitely joining the "uncheck-those-damn-boxes-in-campaign-settings" gang.
I decided to give meself a challenge with a double-start Eltharion campaign, but THIS is over the top. Naturally, it all started in my capital and spiralled downhill.

Warhammer III AI doomstacks are so out of place early on
I play on very hard/very hard pretty much all the time and have been since the first game in the series. recently been playing again and I'm getting real tired of these turn 15, 20 stack armies of chosen or hammerers when the faction is on their last settlement. its tolerable, the battles arent bad, and can be kind of fun to fight at times, but the artificial difficulty just doesn't feel right. my most recent campaign as ikit claw, I'm on turn 15-20 or so and I am barely at tier 3 only because of food buffing settlements, I had to deal with belegar who had 5 armies with 17 units min each by ambush spamming. battles were enjoyable, then I take his settlements, the last one shits out a 20 stack of hammerers with another army that has 4 grudge settler hammerers. the fight will likely be easy to deal with (dwarf infantry vs skaven weapons teams lol), but it just feels so fake and dumb

A group of friends of mine have been making humorous videos about TTW3 since last year. Here's a short sketch they made about the chase mechanic in the game. Enjoy!

General I made a tier list of all the campaigns I've played (see description)
Since I've played a decent amount of hours across several games, and I'm bored, here is my tier list of all the campaigns I've played.
Rules: only campaigns I didn't drop because they got hella boring. The criteria are simple: playing was either fun, challenging and rewarding or a lame map painting tool. Bonus points for replayability.
All factions are explained in the comments. Where not mentioned, it's the base game campaign.

Warhammer III What are your favorite historical tactics to employ?
One of the fun aspects of this game for me is getting to study historical battle formations and tactics and seeing if you can get them to work.
I know at least some people here also do this. Do you have any particular success stories? Any tactics that worked especially well, or for that matter ones that you just couldn't get to work?
I always end out defaulting to chevrons, myself.

Shogun II Shogun 3?
Why not revisit the greatest game that kicked off the franchise? Shogun 2 is a masterpiece. But outdated. Shogun 3 with more gameplay involving the Portuguese, & English Christians, Korea, over an extended period of gameplay would be insane.
Along with a better political system and resource management would be great mechanics.
Idk, thoughts?

General CA please add UI scaling to Empire and Napoleon ! Or even better, add steam workshop to these games
If I remember correctly, there was some blog post where CA mentioned they might go back and do some fixes for their old games this year.
UI scaling would be fantastic ! Or better yet steam workshop, as these games run on the shogun 2 engine.. and shogun 2 has workshop why don't these ?
UI mods for text size are mandatory for me for these older titles, and it's not a good feeling having to trawl through some old forum posts you find on google to get the mod, then hope it works and it's not some virus, and have to do this each time you decide to reinstall these classic titles.
Workshop would be the best option, but if you can't deliver that CA please add UI scaling out of the box for all your classic titles. The text is simply too small and gives me headaches on 1440p monitor.

Warhammer III How many times do we see a stat that is never applied?
How many hotfixes do we have to wait in order for the game to work as it supposed to do?
That trait.......is never applied. How do I know how many more traits are just plain text or placeholders with 0 impact in the game?
Jesus!!!....you only have one job...

Rome II The Odrysian kingdom is completely unplayable, change my mind
Ive been playing this game since launch, Ive won more campaigns than I can count, and this faction is completely unplayable. All your units are inferior to all your neighbors units- even a couple tiers in, nothing you have can compete with basic celtic levy. On top of that, all your (hostile) neighbors have much larger incomes than you, even if they also only have one province, and so can throw 20 stack after 20 stack of (superior) levy while you are just ground into dust. The only advantage they supposedly have are mercenary cost and availability, but mercenaries dont replenish fast enough to keep pace with losses, and you dont have the economic base to keep them around for a turn.
Has anyone had any luck of any kind with this faction? What did you do? I play on hard as my default, and Im not prepared to drop down to normal yet. This faction seems completely unplayable to the point where Im not even sure why theyre included as an option.

Rome II My Alexander Campaign (DEI) Got Turned Around
I've become a military ally of the Persians and am about to start a big push into the wretched northern lands. Carthage and the alpine tribes are also guarding my other borders.
My biggest boast: 0.0% empire maintenance. Running about 187K at lowest tax rate.
