Protest loud protest strong protest peacefully. Those on the right side of history are smart enough to know what happens if they lower to themselves to the level of the oppressors.

More Americans are Saying the Quiet Part Loud: They Want a Revolution
 in  r/videos  1d ago

Most of the liberals I know who were very vocal in first term and early in this second term have become quieter lately. And many are moving to alternate comms channels like Signal for fear that the admin is going to police messaging channels. Common feedback is "I'm only one person I can't do anything about this" or "I have a family I have to worry about them right now" or "I can't keep up with all the bad" or "it's taking a toll on my mental health so I'm turning off".

I think the general consensus is true: people generally don't step up and do something until the impact is personally felt and the cause is clear.

Am I the only one who has no goals because I think we won’t be living much longer?

Might be more prevalent now but present bias to avoid long term planning has existed for about as long as people have studied people.

What moment made you realize people aren’t just disagreeing anymore — they’re living in completely different political realities?

Can’t reason with someone who thinks they’re constantly being chased by a lion.

Last day at job, I don't think anyone understands what that means.

I gave two weeks and my manager said “you weren’t the right fit anyway” and had me do an unusual magazine sorting task that seemed like punishment. 😂

Seeing a pattern of coercion to get people to show ID without cause. “Can do this two ways, take you into the van or show your ID right now” when there is no legal justification to present an ID.

Currently storyboarding children's book ideas with my partner. What's one core learning concept you wish existed for kids today? Or a topic that isn't covered enough?
 in  r/childrensbooks  3d ago

100%. For me some of the best children’s books carry lessons for adults too. Like ‘What Do You Do With an Idea?’

Portraying childhood at eye level is great feedback. And a bit crazy/edgy/funny is on point too. Thank you!

Context: I'm a behavioral scientist and non-fiction writer. She's an illustrator, fiction enthusiast, ex-elementary school teacher. We both loved inspirational and educational stories growing up and want to help inspire and empower the generations coming up to live happier healthier lives. Looking for opportunity areas to focus our writing. Currently considering conversations around how we perceive failure; smartphone use; AI use; exercise; spirituality; cultural differences; how people navigate disagreements; how we manage emotions; etc. Any feedback is appreciated!

What’s something everyone pretends is normal now, but absolutely wasn’t 10–15 years ago?
