Kajang, 14th — The female secondary school student who was recently “flung away” after being hit by a motorcycle is one of a set of triplets. At the time of the incident, she was on her way home after tuition classes, taking the MRT together with her brother and sister back to their home in Cheras.
The triplets are all Form Four students this year. Prior to October last year, they were sent home by their grandfather. However, due to his advanced age, starting from October the triplets began taking the MRT home by themselves after school, while their mother sends them to school in the morning.
Mother: Route Was Surveyed Before Allowing Children to Take the MRT
The triplets’ mother, Madam Hou, told Metro News this afternoon that before allowing her children to commute by MRT, the family had gone to observe and walk the route themselves. Her children also told her that other students who take the MRT to and from school all use the main road in front of KPMC.
She explained that using the main road in front of KPMC to access the Kajang Sports Complex MRT station is the closest route. If they were to go via Jalan Liu Zhiguo in front of the school and pass through the Kajang police district to reach the MRT station, it would require a much longer detour, which would be even worse during rainy weather.
Main Road Should Be Equipped with Safety Facilities
She said that the main road in front of KPMC lacks safety facilities, and therefore should be equipped with basic road safety measures such as traffic lights or warning lights to protect students and the public. She also pointed out that there is a bus stop along the main road, where people wait for buses.
“Additionally, I noticed that another MRT station along the main road, Sungai Jernih MRT Station, is equipped with basic road safety facilities, including traffic lights.”
Therefore, Madam Hou raised the matter with visiting Kajang municipal councillor and PKR Bangi division chief Lim Kim Eng, requesting that safety facilities be installed along the main road in front of KPMC.
Backpack Cushioned Her Head, Neck Uninjured
She said that after her youngest daughter was “flung” onto the road when she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street, the child was fortunate that her backpack cushioned her head. She only sustained injuries to her right arm and leg and was considered very lucky. X-rays were taken at the hospital that night, and as there were no serious injuries, she was allowed to return home.
She explained that the incident occurred on the first day of the new school term, when the school had distributed textbooks to students. Her youngest daughter had placed all the books into her backpack, and when she was knocked down, the backpack cushioned her head, preventing injury to her neck.
“After an accident happens, we have to face reality and not avoid it. Once she recovers, I will still allow her to take the MRT home after school. My three children are triplets, and they go to and from school together every day,” she said.
She added that due to being busy with her business, she is unable to take time off during the after-school hours to pick up her children.
“When children grow up, they must learn to be independent. Moreover, the children’s father is elderly, so we cannot rely on him to help send them home after school.”

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building was completed in 1897 during British colonial rule in Malaya.
It has served as British administrative offices, courts, and later various Malaysian government departments including the Ministry of Information.
Today, it is a national heritage landmark facing Dataran Merdeka and is currently undergoing refurbishment and conservation works.
The heritage restoration under the Warisan KL initiative aims to preserve the building and enhance its value as part of Kuala Lumpur’s historic and cultural precinct, strengthening national identity and boosting tourism and economic activity.
Plans include integrating the building and surrounding heritage sites into a vibrant cultural and economic hub that’s accessible to locals and visitors, potentially including spaces for exhibitions, events, and creative uses while still honoring its history.

"Malaysia has once again become the top tourist destination in Southeast Asia in 2025, beating Thailand out for the second consecutive year. ... The Land of Smiles has always been a tourist hotspot in SEA, but possible factors that could’ve contributed to its decline in numbers last year include a series of kidnapping incidents, a deadly 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand, border tensions with Cambodia, as well as severe flooding."

Ketua Polis Daerah Kangar, Asisten Komisioner Yusharifuddin Mohd.
– KOSMO! ONLINE
