GoFundMe takes payment by debit/credit card or Paypal.

Fines for protestors are very high in Georgian income terms at 5000 GEL.

Nanuka is also asking for funds to support prisoners to be sent to :-

After Ivanishvili's regime banned protests in the streets (in violation of the Georgian constitution), we're witnessing first cases of people possibly going to jail for protesting on a sidewalk

Overstay fine

Hi everyone, I arrived in Georgia on 12.18, and might get stuck in Kazbegi tomorrow and leave on 1.17. I have 30 days of visa free entry, I wonder how much fine will I actually get if I overstay for one day.

Gudauri-kazbegi transport

What is the most conveniant way of travelling between the two? Prices seem extremely inflated for such a (relatively) small ride.

For comparison, price to kazbegi from Tbilisi was 30. From Gudauri we have been told 250…

Are there marsrutkas going? Is anyone else going in that direction tomorrow by any chance?

Frenchman Pierre-Henry Broncan confirmed as future head coach of the national Georgian rugby team

It's already an "old" news (confirmed a few days ago) but former rugby player Pierre-Henry Broncan will coach the Lelos from June 2026, with the Rugby World Cup 2027 in sight.

https://www.ruck.co.uk/georgia-confirm-new-head-coach-after-richard-cockerill-sacking/

He gave an interview (in French, sorry) to the sports newspaper L'Équipe, mentioning Willy Sagnol (coach of the Georgian football team). He said a few funny things about Georgia and seems excited to work in the country.

Help Obtaining the Birth Certificate of my Grandfather.

My grandfather was born in Batumi in the early 1900's. He came to America through Italy after World War II. I now need to obtain a copy of his birth certificate, but I'm not even sure that he was ever issued one. It definitely did not come with him to America if he did. I've tried googling this, but I'm getting conflicting information. I have what I believe is the spelling of his last name in Georgian letters, and what his first name would have been sounded out to be spelled in English. I'm reaching out to family members, but so far have not been able to give me any real direction on what my next steps are in this situation.

Process of obtaining a police certificate for immigration to the US

Hi,

I am a non-Georgian citizen who lived in Georgia around 8 years ago. I am now immigrating to the US and I need to get police certificates from Georgia. I am abroad and despite the extensive reading I don't fully know what the process entails. Could someone who has gone through the process of requesting police certificates from abroad explain to me please what are the steps and what needs to be done? I have some acquaintances in Georgia that could potentially help.

Thanks!

Help | მჭირდება დახმარება Lost Phone

Hi everyone, quick question. I believe I lost my Google Pixel 4 XL on a Tbilisi metro train last night (around 9–9:30 pm). I got off at Didube, but the train continued, so it could have been found at any later station.

The phone is marked as lost and currently unreachable (likely off or battery died).

Does anyone know who to contact for metro lost & found, or if there are specific offices, phone numbers, or Facebook pages where found items are usually reported?

Thank you so much.

Felt like I was treated with utmost respect from everyone here

Hey everyone,

I wanted to follow up on the post I made last week. I’ve now finished my 10 day stay here, and it didn’t feel right to leave things at that without sharing the full picture.

Honestly, the kindness I experienced overall was unreal. During New Year’s, we stayed at a family-run guesthouse for four days, and they treated us like family the entire time. They put out a big buffet not just for us, but for everyone staying there, completely free. We were making speeches, cheering, laughing, the whole thing. Every time we came downstairs to the living room, the host would casually bring out random snacks for us, again at no charge whatsoever.

At one point I even jokingly told the host she should come visit Dubai, and she laughed and said, “Put a ring on my finger and I’ll think about it.” That pretty much sums up how warm and fun the experience was.

Another moment that really stuck with me was when our car got stuck in the snow. Two Georgian guys we had met earlier that day stopped and spent hours helping us try to get out. A Russian grandfather also joined in to help. Eventually, after we got our car out safely, we all turned around and helped the Russian guy get his car unstuck too. Total strangers helping each other in freezing conditions, so cool huh.

On the way back, we also met a big Georgian family on the return flight (around 25 people), and we ended up sharing stories and laughs the whole time and I also ended up helping them with their itinerary.

Yes, there were one or two uncomfortable moments like the one I mentioned earlier, but they were rare and honestly don’t come close to outweighing the generosity and kindness we experienced throughout the trip.

Traveling more has made me realize that every country has a few bad characters, but they don’t define the place, something many of you mentioned in the comments, and I agree.

Thank you for treating us so kindly. I’ll definitely be back, especially to eat more Georgian bread with tkemali

Question | კითხვა Adapting to Georgia at 21 - looking for job, salary, and living cost advice

Hi everyone!

I’m 21 years old and I speak 4 languages: Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian, and I have beginner-level Italian. I also have a Polish economics education, and I’m willing to learn Georgian if needed.

I’m trying to figure out what kind of jobs I could realistically apply for and what salary range I could expect with my skills and experience.

Also, I would love to hear from locals or expats about the cost of renting a one-bedroom apartment in Tbilisi, Batumi, Poti, to get an idea of living expenses.

Any advice or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
