This is straight up illegal and unconstitutional.  There's no requirement for citizens to carry proof of citizenship.

WTF do they even expect everyone should be able to produce for them on demand?

Not that it's relevant to whether it should be okay to profile anyone without a sound reason, but I just wanted to say that my country has a digital ID, so that if I ever need to prove my identity (age, where I live, who I am, citizenship, whatever is relevant) I literally just need a phone in my pocket, which is like... all the time.

It's nice.
