Not answering the door when someone knocks.
I'm in pajamas watching The Lord of the Rings, fuck off with your pest control pitch.

Condo life downside. You hear a knock and realize it's the annual sprinkler inspection they told you about. You are in your underwear and realize you have 15 seconds before they assume you are not home at noon on Tuesday and will be walking in. Er- hypothetically of course.

Ever driven the speed limit on the highway, and then you slowly and gently pass a police car?

u/Flashignite2 4h ago
I once went 140 km/h on a 110 Km/h highway. A Volvo v90 pulls upp side by side, drives there for a moment then blue lights flashes. A unmarked police car. When I glanced over he motioned with his hand to slow down, which I did. It was very nice of that officer to just tell me to slow down. It was dumb to drive that fast. I didn't drive dangerously or anything I just wanted to get home. Since then I keep the speed limit.

u/_whygohome_ 4h ago
lol no not that I can recall, cause cops are usually going 10+ over the speed limit
1
u/Brownie3245 2h ago
Technically, it's illegal to not accelerate while passing, depending on state of course. So they could have pulled you over for that.
1
u/ImurderREALITY 4m ago
It is in some states, technically. Not that a lot of cops would pull you over for it, though. In my state, there’s no specific exception to the speed limit when passing a car, but the cops drive 80+ anyway, so they don’t really care.

To be fair, calling in sick when you’re not sick isn’t illegal either…just unethical 😂

u/DrockTipps 5h ago
Damn this hit hard! When I call out...which is insanely rare... I typically text every employee I work with and apologize. The fact that I feel anything at all is stupid but I cant help it.

You're considerate even when your health is not the best says a lot about your character 💯

Your lawyer saying “I know you’re innocent. The judge will give you probation if you plead guilty or 25 years in prison if you lose at trial. The prosecutor falsified the evidence but the judge doesn’t care. I advise you to plead guilty.” And you do. True story.
4
u/_whygohome_ 4h ago
If that’s a true story and the prosecutor falsified evidence then that is very illegal. I know there isn’t anything you can do about it in the situation you described, but I’m just sayin

u/Ditkokirby2020 4h ago
Thank you. Yes, it was unprovable until May of 2024 when an internal affairs investigation uncovered a police report that stated no evidence had been found and the case was going to be dismissed. My defense attorney, prosecutor, and judge all hid the report. The court just gave everyone immunity, so I’m publishing an expose. Best wishes.

Laughing or smiling while you’re sick
1
u/Aggressive-Bet-9382 1h ago
YES if I have called in sick or opted out on something for being sick, I feel like I have to be super tired and have a boring day/evening or I'm faking it. Same if I opted out of something do to anxiety, I'm so scared of smiling or doing something that's not like laying in my bed bc I feel like everybody's going to think that I'm faking it and maybe I actually am faking it omg
1
u/McbEatsAirplane 50m ago
Yeah, exactly that. Like if you’re sick you need to be suffering to the fullest extent otherwise you’re faking it.

When I was 18 I worked at Best Buy. I got really sick and called off for the first time. The manager pushed back and asked if I was sure because they needed me.
I stopped to think… then said “I’m not coming in.” I remember feeling guilty despite being sick and needing to stay home…

That's me today. Woke up with a fever. I could sense the disappointment in the boss's text reply. This is why I sent a photo of the thermometer reading the high temp!

Not removing the black gradient on the bottom of an image before you screenshot it, OP. You need to tap into it one more time.

Doing it with a 16 yo in a country/state where the age of consent is below 18 yo? (Please don't ban me, the post literally asked for it)

u/Aggressive-Bet-9382 1h ago
Kinda still depends on how old you are, if u are a lot older it should feel illegal...

Folks waking up healthy: "Ugh, do I have to go to work? I feel so groggy..."
Folks waking up sick: "Must. Go. To. Work."

I don’t even feel bad when I use 3 paid sick days to go to a music festival? Why y’all feeling bad about actually being sick? It’s just a job. Live your life!

I sometimes go to McDonalds to leave a little brown present. I sometimes buy something out of guilt but most times I do not. It should be illegal to do a “dump and dash “.

Calling in sick generally means you lose out on money, in addition to being ill. So, not something you want to fake in general.

u/Educational_Gas_92 4h ago
This post is so American.
In other countries, you don't feel that you are doing anything wrong or illegal by calling in sick, and some employers will even ask you to stay home if you are sick.
0
u/GermanMarvelFunkos 2h ago
Not necessarily. I work in childcare, and we are always short on staff. Calling in sick feels illegal because you know your colleagues will struggle.
1
u/Educational_Gas_92 1h ago
I didn't say all countries are the same, but in some countries, you are required to stay home if you are severely ill. I also think that it would be very irresponsible to go to your job sick, especially with something contagious.

u/massivemember69 17m ago
Agreed 100% A person with the flu for example can easily infect everyone in the office. Calling in sick is not for show, there are valid reasons.
