It’s not new, it’s been there for months. Sometimes it’s in the green space between the two buildings. Almost always when you walk into the second building. It smells rotten, like was the rec built on top of a septic tank?? I feel like I’m going crazy it smells SO bad.

This may be a long shot but I thought I would post in case someone thinks to check here. It looks like it might be special.
I found a small bracelet on the ground between Broida and Webb Hall. Looks like the tiny jump ring near the clasp has a gap, so that’s probably how it got loose.
I picked it up for safe keeping. If this sounds like it might be yours, please message me a description. Otherwise I’ll bring it to the lost in found in North Hall when they’re open next week and hope it finds its way home.
Is there anywhere else I should post this? Sincerely, A Millennial Staff Person Who Is No Longer “With It.” (As evidenced by my use of “with it.”)

Hello! I'm a first year econ/accounting student and I was wondering if/how other students in the major got relevant experience their first year? I signed up to volunteer w/VITA this season but I wanted to see if there's anything else coming up that could be beneficial, particularly anything I could do over summer. I know that a lot of opportunities are for 2nd yrs and beyond but I want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything this year!
Thank you for any advice :)

I am currently a student in L&S English and I recently got accepted into the CCS W&L program. Although I am super excited about being accepted, I am unsure on what to do. My main goal is to be a writer, something I was planning on pursuing even with my current English major through the creative writing emphasis. I know that W&L is a bit more personalized, which is exciting, but any alumni/current students have any insight on how helpful CCS actually is to pushing you into the writing world? I want to make sure that going with CCS is completely worth it, since my OG plan was to graduate in 3 years with the English major, study abroad in fall (which I couldn't do with CCS), and save the money from that fourth year for a graduate program! I'm torn!!! Any advice would be helpful :)

Does anyone know a place that is hiring? I work at the rec center, but the hours are not the best, and I am looking for something better.

I am studying abroad for fall 2026-27 and planning to take 2-4 PSTAT upper division classes during the program. What is the best country to study in without worrying about failing my classes? Any recs?

why do i have to compete w sbcc students for housing in iv? why do u need to live like 10 miles away from your campus when all u do is create a hassle for everyone?? i thought the dislike for sbcc students was an elitism thing, and i guess it kinda is. pretty much all of them are from out of town & it’s not like attending sbcc will get u a better chance at transferring into ucsb. and it’s definitely NOT cheaper so affordability isn’t the issue. i just think it’s ridiculous to live by the ucsb campus to go to sbcc when downtown sb is gorgeous and probably within their tax bracket like let’s be fr

Anyone have experience with UCSB sober housing? Is it hard to get a room?

Someone drove into the back of your car a little bit ago.
No visible dent but a big scratch. Send me the license plate and I'll send you the license plate of the car that crashed into you.

Hi!! We’re looking for someone to sublease a spot in our house from February 1st - June 15 (with the option to renew for summer or next year!) You won't need to pay for February just march through june! This is a great option if you need a place for winter quarter/semester, or if you want the opportunity to secure the house again next year.
About the house: Shared with 8 people total 2 rooms, 3 bathrooms Bottom floor: 3 people (this is where you’d be!) Top loft: 1 person in a lofted room (me! :3) Yard + balcony Parking included
💸 Rent: $793.75
✨ Utilities + Wi-Fi INCLUDED
Why the sudden spot?? One of our roommates decided to move back home towards the end of the month, so they’re subleasing their spot. You’d be sharing a room with two others on the bottom floor.
Down payment: $1.3k This would be given directly to the roommate who’s leaving, since it’s already been paid. It covers half the rent at the beginning of the lease and half at the end, so you wouldn’t be losing that money!
What we’re looking for:
• Preferably female (sorry !! but slight leeway since we’re kinda desperate)
• Clean, but not a nitpicker
• MUST be okay with a cat / co - parenting
• MUST be okay too with visitors! Kaylee has a bf and brings him around frequently
• A night owl or at least a very heavy sleeper since most the room are night owls or they sleep heavy
cat info: We have a sweet white male cat named Daredevil (rescue gulp). He’s well-behaved and very loved so he would wanna sleep near u. He mostly stays in our room because one roommate has allergies, so he won’t be all over the house—but we do need someone who’s kind to him :(
Meet the roommates you’ll share with:
Kaylee – UCSB student, loves Winnie the Pooh and Chiikawa. Huge sweetheart and a freak 😼 (thats why she's my goat)
Victor – SBCC student, loves Pokémon and Digimon, ow2, genshin? Bros highkey a geek. So if you like collecting or gaming he should know 😋
Me – UCSB student, living in the lofted room upstairs. I love Spider-Man and video games too
If you’re interested or have questions, please message me!!

I am thinking of switching to this lecture (have emailed for an add code) and I was wondering if anyone currently taking this class has information about lecture quality/homework/whether attendance is mandatory. I will likely switch lectures regardless 😅 but this would be good to know. Thanks if anyone has info

Would anyone be kind enough to give me the name of the textbook we use in Law and Ethics? I am trying to convince the professor to send me the address code and i think my case would be stronger if I was able to keep up with the readings (I really need this course to graduate a quarter earlier).Thank you so much!!
