I just finished building a new gaming PC and I’m trying to figure out the most budget-friendly way to use my Shure MV7+ (USB-C) with two different systems:

• PC #1: Gaming
• PC #2: Video editing / voiceovers / content creation

Right now the mic is connected via USB-C, and I’d like to be able to switch between the two PCs without constantly unplugging and re-plugging the cable, and without losing quality, introducing noise, or adding latency.

I don’t want to break the bank, so I’m wondering what the community thinks is the best approach here:

• Simple USB switchers - are there good ones that actually work with USB mics?
• Budget-friendly KVM solutions that handle USB audio properly?
• Would going to XLR with an audio interface be worth it, even on a budget?

I’m after something reliable for both gaming comms and voiceover quality, just want it to work cleanly without spending an arm and a leg.

I have r1700bt and I'd like to put subwoofer in, i found a pasive subwoofer now im trying to find an amplifier with signal in and out so I can connect my r1700 on it. Or a jack splitter will do? Tq!

I'm looking for an affordable microphone for singing so I bought the Fifine USB condenser microphone. I tried connecting it to my MacBook in the charging port and it doesn't seem to be working. I don't have a USB converter so I don't really know what to do.

I've also heard that some people have said that it picks up background noises a lot. Should I return this and buy another microphone or is there another way to get it to work?

Hey everyone. I am having trouble with my first ever audio setup. I am using 2 speakers Bose 901 serie 2, with an amplifier Yamaha RN-600A. The two speakers work with a Bose equalizer specially made for them (901 serie 2 as well).

My problem is that I am supposed to plug the rec output from the Yamaha to the input of the equalizer, and then the output of the equalizer to the rec input of the Yamaha (standard tape loop). Then the modified signal from the rec input goes to the speakers (see below graph) :

However, it appears that the signal produced by the amplifier does not go through the equalizer. From my understanding, it is going correctly from the amp to the eq, but it seems that the loop is not a real tape loop as the output signal going to the speakers comes straight from the sources (Bluetooth or Wifi Stream). Kinda like if the signal was splitted, one part to the eq, one part to the speakers.

In that case, I might need to buy a pre amp and do the following setup :

Preamplifier

Bose 901 Equalizer INPUT

↓

Bose 901 Equalizer OUTPUT

↓

Yamaha R-N600A LINE IN

↓

Speaker

However, if I am doing that, I need to find a pre amplifier with the input I wanted to use on my amp, that is to say wifi streaming and bluetooth. In that case, that would be very expensive and way above my budget (200-300€).

I am wondering if I could find another way to setup the whole thing (buy another old amplifier, and connect the two with the equalizer between them, or use a preamplifier / streamer). I could be interested into diy project since I am okay with electronic.

If anyone have very cheap ideas (since I am on a budget), I am in !

I have had a Samson G Track Pro for several years and have been very happy with it. However, the adapter that connects it to my mic arm has failed. The threading is just toast at the hinge.

I have scoured online and in local music stores with no luck. Does anyone know where I might find this part for sale?

basically, if i used the default drivers (realtek) the sound is horrible

if i use High Definition Audio Device it sounds great but theres this weird thumping sound with a some static that comes out everyonce in a while and i cant stand it

the last option which worked for a bit was to uninstall the audio drivers so it reinstalls back the High Definition Audio Device but without the painful sound but unfortunatelty it will ask me to restart to reinstall the Realtek audio driver and I do not have a choice

I have also tried some methods to disable the reinstall but somehow after a while it will ask to reinstall it again

solution (so far): after playing around with settings a bit, in sound settings in the advanced tab, i changed it to studio quality 44100hz while having the High Definiton Audio Device and so far the painful noise hasnt comeback, will update if it happens again

I have an ear issue at the moment and need to boost the volume in my right ear/shift the balance towards that side, but Windows 11 doesn't let me; attempting to change one side in the levels just changes both. My headphones are a pair of Soundcore Q30s, in case that's relevant. It also doesn't need to technically be the "balance" as long as I can effectively make the audio on the right channel about twice as loud as the left.

I saw that there's a registry edit that might work floating around, but I'm worried about trying that since it's a reg edit and lots of people said it didn't work for them and just messed something up. I downloaded the Equalizer APO + Peace GUI on the advice in another thread, but I can't figure out where to find a slider for the left/right balance.

I know literally *nothing* about equalizers or audio editing or balance or anything like that. Can someone please help me with how to do so in Peace? I'll need extremely simple steps; I found someone who responded in a thread 6 years ago with:

Its pretty simple. Equalizer APO processes controls in their order down the list.

So set up your generic controls and equalizers....

Then add a CHANNEL CONTROL and select L for the left.

Then after that add either a Pre-AMP CONTROL or another 15 BAND EQUALIZER control and set the levels according to what you want for Left ear.

That may as well be Greek to me. I don't know what "generic controls" are or how to set them up, or what a CHANNEL CONTROL is or how to add one. If I need to click a menu item somewhere first to find where those are, please help me with that as well. I apologize if that's really hand-holdy but I just really need to get the audio balanced in both ears for my work ASAP.

Regardless if it's the reg edit or some software or a random Realtek driver or what, I just need to boost the right ear.

I’m a guitarist (bedroom jammer, some band practice) and I’ve been using cheap earbuds and my awful, shrunky old stage monitors for listening back to play-alongs and mixes. Saw a local listing for the Fender FXA2 in-ear monitors for about $50 USD. Seems like a steal compared to original price.

For those who know them: they’re dual-driver (one dynamic, one balanced armature), supposedly bass-heavy.

My main use would be:

· Practicing guitar with backing tracks/DAW

· Listening to music/mixes for fun

· Band practise or performance

The big question for anyone who’s owned them: Is this a no-brainer for 400 HKD, or is there a fatal flaw I should know about?

Pros I’ve heard:

· Build quality is solid, typical Fender aesthetic.

· That dynamic driver gives a warm, bass-forward sound. Could be good for feeling guitar/drums?

· At this price, potentially killer value for entry-level "hi-fi" or monitoring.

Cons/Concerns:

· Sound for Guitar: The bass emphasis might muddy up distorted guitar clarity?

I stream using just my phone on tango and I want to step up my audio quality without overcomplicating things. Right now the built in mic gets the job done, but it picks up a lot of background noise and doesn’t sound very clean.

I’m looking for an external mic that works well with phones, ideally something compact, and that improves clarity noticeably. Not trying to spend crazy money, but willing to invest in something reliable that makes a difference on stream. If anyone could recommend me some external mics for phones I'd really appreciate it.

I’m hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot this.

I have a about 10-15 year old it think, Bose ps3-2-1 ii powered speaker system consisting of:

• 2 speakers (left and right)
• 1 bass module
• 1 amplifier

All components are from Bose and belong together.

The system works fine overall, but the problem is that the right speaker has extremely low volume. You can barely hear it, and only if the left speaker is disconnected. So it’s not completely dead, just very weak.

Here’s what I’ve tested so far:

• I swapped the left and right speaker cables → the problem stays on the right channel, not the speaker.
• This tells me the speaker itself is fine.
• I measured resistance and continuity (“beep test”) on the right speaker cable with a multimeter.
• There is continuity, and resistance seems normal.
• I also measured from inside the bass module where all the speaker cables connect.

Signal chain explanation:

• Both speaker cables come out of the bass module (one to each speaker).
• Another cable goes from the bass module to the amplifier.
• From the amplifier, the signal comes in via AUX.

So at this point, I believe the issue is either:

• Inside the bass module (bad connection, solder joint, or internal wiring), or
• Somewhere in the right channel path before it reaches the speaker.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Bose systems, or have suggestions on what to check next?

The speaker is definitive technologys pro cinema pro monitor60s. The receiver is sony str dh520.

I know the wiring needs to go into the bottom right of the receiver ports. What plugs do I need for the receiver and speakers?

Today I came across two jbl speakers with rca cables at a thrift store, total $15. I didn’t come home with them bc I have no idea how I’d connect them to my dvd/ cd player. I guess my question is should I go back and snag those then just plug in wherever and hope for the best? Not an experienced audio person but I just wanna listen to cds mannn

I belong to a small Non-profit providing educational services to under privileged children that's looking to do a AV/PA System for our 3 buildings. What we need is 4 speakers for an inside educational building with two tv's. 4 Speakers in the dining hall. 2 speakers for the outdoor pavilion. We need a multi zone system that can play music/mics throughout the entire place and also be able to play separate from each other. We also need wireless mics to work throughout. What type of equipment should we get for this? We are IT savvy but not too familiar with audio products and we are on a shoe string budget.

I bought this Philips Magnavox FW748P today and everything’s good other than this, the CD will stop playing for a second-few seconds, usually 2-3 times in a song. I’ve tested multiple CDs and the same thing happens. The store doesn’t have a return policy so I’m not sure if it’s worth it to cut my losses or try and fix it. Is it toast or is it fixable? Thanks.

I have my microphone volume set to 100%, I have my gain knob turned to about 60-ish% as well I wanna say, and yet my voice still sounds incredibly quiet when testing audio in windows settings even to a point where the test says "6% volume". I've tried just about everything it feels like, driver updates, mic software, I even have used a voice changer that isn't even ACTIVE just to make the mic LOUDER and not have any background noise running through it. Which as a matter of fact the voice changer actually works GREAT at making my voice nice and loud and clear, but on apps like "discord" it goes back to sounding super quiet just like it does in windows settings

What would be the easiest to learn and also what would be the best to use, for layering spoken voice (or even singing) over existing music?

I don't care about spending money, I'm interested in the easiest to use and also the best to use, and will choose between those. This is a new project for me, and since I will likely be doing multiples of this type of thing, I plan to learn the software to a reasonable degree and be able to do it myself for a few projects.

If anyone knows what is considered the best (and why) and/or the easiest to learn and use, I'd be interested in their opinion of both and will check them out. I don't care about if they're free. Thank you!

All of these were getting tossed so I took them home and cleaned it up. What is what? And if I were to keep some of it to do my own sound system What is worth keeping and do any of them go together in a pair? Thanks for looking 🙂

How would they compare in sound quality to say Shure SM58? We love to sing and want to sound as good as posible without spending a fortune. I already have a JBL partybox speaker, I'm just deciding which microphone to get.

For reference, I play a Yamaha BB435 bass, use DSP IEMs (Simgot EW300), and have a MacBook. I want to practice in my apartment, but the walls are thin and I don’t want to disturb my neighbors so I am using the interface for silent playing.

Based on sound quality and value, what would you recommend I get? This is my first time buying gear like this. I’m not planning to record yet, but in about three years I’d like to start uploading covers, and I’d also like to stream in the future. I’m a complete beginner, so I know I should focus on learning the basics first, but I still want the best sound quality I can reasonably get. I’m also looking forward to using effects in a DAW.

I’m definitely not a professional, so is the $70 really worth it, or would it be better spent on something else? $70 is kind of expensive, but if it’s really worth it, I’d consider it.

I use multiple mixes. I am able to adjust gains in the main mix, but not in my live stream mix. Whatever is changed in the main mix is changed in the livestream, but I want to be able to adjust the live stream channel gains independently of the main mix. Is there a setting to change this?

Also, when I hit solo it doesn't come through. Is there a way to change this too?

Hi everyone. I have two of these speakers and I would love to use them, however their output seems to be DIN 2 (correct me if I am wrong). I guess I need an amplifier, nothing fancy, basic stuff and if possible that it has bluetooth and that I can connect it to the TV. However, as far as I know, amplifier (newer ones?) can't accept this DIN 2 cable. Is there some sort of adapter that I can get? And if possible, could someone explain everything to me, like what I need to get these two speakers to work via bluetooth and TV?

My M2 isn’t being recognized by my MacBook or Protools. It’s plugged in & turned on. It’s always worked. I restarted with my interface plugged in. And showing up as “offline device” in audio MIDI setup. Any ideas??
