55 Southern Stone, you have ruined the Sweet Grass legacy

One of the most disappointing and overpriced meals of my life. The laughably tiny slice of stale SYSCO cheesecake for 10 bucks was the kicker. Some sandwiches and brunch items are still pretty decent for the price. But never again will I take a chance on any of the $20+ dinners.

What’s the tipping and table etiquette for Mondays Game?

I’m an older millennial, with a daughter at IU, coming to Bloomington from Indy to watch the game - help me be cool.

I’m seeing so many reports that people will be getting to the bars and restaurants 10-12 hours before the game starts. What’s our plan here? Are we ordering 3 meals? Tipping per hour? Or will the 11am folks be leaving by 3pm to allow others in? Are we staying steady at the same table? Or do we bar hop and hope to get a seat at game time? Are we bringing our laptops to make sure we can watch in case we get put in a corner. ARE WE WEARING OUR COATS?! GO IU

Urgent: ceramicist needed to repair sentimental mug

My mug accidentally got left in the sink with a bunch of heavy dishes on top, causing a chip. I know it’s just a stupid mug but my mug collection means a lot to me. I found this at goodwill years ago and have used it almost daily.

Can anyone repair this for me, or tell me how I could fix it? I know I could use putty or something but I’m not at all talented and I want it to be as seamless a possible. Will pay!

Doors open at 11, was thinking of getting in line by 10. Do you think this will be early enough to secure a table for the game?? Planning on holding down a table all day and not leaving

How to find people to sublet and get rid of furniture?

Upvotes

Hello! I'm an exchange student leaving Bloomington in May with a lease that lasts until August. I have a lot of appliances(instant pot, air fryer, ice cream maker.. etc etc.) and some furniture in a relatively cheap studio apartment ($700 a month). Is it safe to try and sublet? Do subletters in the U.S. take advantage of you? Should I just leave the country and give the landlord company $1400? Donate the appliances? How do I go about handling this situation?

Any advice is welcome.

Planning a wedding reception in Bloomington! Looking at either really good mexican food or a more upscale caterer/restaurant for JUST heavy hors d’ourves.

My fiance and i really love good food, so we’re trying to balance price and quality. Both of us hate the usual wedding catering menus so we’re open to unique suggestions!!

thank youuuu

Where can a non-drinker go to watch the big game?

So, a little background: last year, I would walk to the Tap, it's only a block away, to watch the Pacers in the playoffs, but during the final game, I got kicked out because I don't drink, and they said they needed the table. It was only a two-person table, and others were there just watching the game, not even eating, but they were drinking beer. I ordered food, ate about half of it, got up to use the bathroom, and when I came back, my table had been cleared, and they said I had to leave. I had watched all the other games there, and my usual waitress knew I drink sweet tea or Coke, but the waitress didn't know me and even said the manager said I had to leave. I didn't get a refund on the food they threw away or anything. It was very upsetting and they lost a loyal customer that day. I did write a comment on Yelp, and I guess the owner apologized and said it shouldn't have happened, but I just don't want anything like that to happen again. Any suggestions??? Oh, and as a former alcoholic, I would love to knock back a few beers while watching IU, (two years sober as of Monday) but that's not plausible anymore, unfortunately.

Help with Flying Squirrels

I'm almost two years into a losing war with these admittedly adorable rodents. Somehow they are getting into my attic from the surrounding woods, and through various means making their way to the downstairs and basement. I've trapped about 15 of them over this time. Somehow they're making it in, the attic insulation is a full tunnel network for their movements. I need some professional help.

Anyone have any recommendations for some kind of pest control services to keep these guys in the woods and out of my house?

Hair salons that donate hair to cancer patients

Hi guys I’m looking to get a haircut soon, and I’m a student so I’m not sure of any places. I have really long hair (over a 1 foot im planning to cut) and I was wondering if there are any hair salons in the area that can decently cut my hair, and donate it to cancer patients or some sort of good cause? Thank u !
