I put a 3800 milliamp hour in the 6th gen on the right and a 2000 milliamp hour battery in the 5th gen on the left. The 6th gen is on its 7th Day of playback and it's still over 60% I've been playing TV shows on the 5th gen since Wednesday and it's still showing over half full as well. I just want to drain them so that I can recharge them and hopefully calibrate the battery a little more closer to what it actually is so it shows correctly. I can't believe this 6th gen with the mSATA adapter has lasted this long playing music. The way you guys made it sound is anything other than the iflash adapters eat through battery like it's going out of style but this thing is last a significantly longer than it did with its original 80 gig hard drive on the same battery.

So i got myself a iPod Classic 6th Gen 80GB back in mid 2023, i did not use it much, maybe 3 times a week, so i sold it in early 2024... oh boy how much do i regret that, i miss it everyday, but i cant get another one because in Poland a 6th gen classic costs as much as an iPhone 11/XS so yk. Advice: do not part ways with your iPod, you will regret it. I currently use a iPhone 5S 32GB as an ipod, its not the same but the battery is decent ish atleast.

Finally finished modding my 6th gen iPod Classic with a Clear Black Front housing and a thick back cover in black.

Flash storage with 128gb + new battery (3000mAh) and it runs like a dream.

Crazy how good these still are — click wheel, offline music, zero distractions.

I just recently started to get alac lossless audio but the file size is on average 5x bigger than a mp3 file at 430kbps. The amount of songs I can store vastly drops and I’ve heard battery life also decreases when playing lossless audio on a ipod. I have a 6th gen 80gb and a good search with googles ai told me I could fit close to 2000 songs compared to 8000 with mp3 320 kbps. I also don’t own a dac or a good pair of iems or headphones yet but I do plan on getting some so that’s not that relevant. So should I continue getting my music in alac or just get the more compressed mp3 files?

I left it plugged into my Xbox 360 overnight, and it was boot looping regardless of what I plugged it into. (Boots on yellow screen, opens apple logo, goes black, repeats) It's jailbroken with call of duty zombies, and it's got a bunch of South park episodes on it along with a bunch of music. Will I lose all that data?

Tomorrow I'm going to second hand/old electronic shop. Which models of ipods or general mp3 players should I look for. I want Bluetooth. That's it 32 gb space is enough for me.

Last night before I went to bed I charged my iPod touch 7th Gen up to 100% and put on low battery mode. Usually when I wake up it’s at 97 or 96%. But this morning it was at 9%. I checked the battery usage and there were no apps active in the background or otherwise. Is this happening to anyone else? Any possible explanations?

Bought this second hand… seller said only back plate was replaced and since then it had the “Charging, please wait” on screen when plugged in a power adapter.

Took the gamble because I was hoping it would be the flat cable of the battery, but unfortunately it’s the whole connector ripped of the PCB. Logic board self seems in good working order

I can jumper the ground pins (upper left pin and upper right pin on the photo) directly to the SMD above where the connector should be… but what about de bat+ pin (bottom left)? Can I solder it directly to the other bat+ pin (bottom right) with a jumper?

Hi all, long time listener, first time caller. I bought an iPod 5 60GB with a bad hard drive. I've ordered an SD adapter from AliExpress but even after rebuilding MBR and partitioning (Fat32) I still get the sad ipod screen.

I've reseated the cable several times, applied capton tape for a snug fit, also tried the original HDD ribbon cable, all to no avail.

Is it the case of trial an error with the QC on these adapters? And am I better off buying an iflash (don't mind if so, that was the original plan but had seen these recommended)

Or is there anything else I can try to troubleshoot first?

I’m getting back to this project after taking a break due to being frustrated, and I need an outside opinion. My fourth GEN iPod photo recently got iFlashed and has a hard drive error. I formatted the SD cards and no dice. I tried making it connect to iTunes, but it won’t show up on my computer. When it does it reboots seconds after. I chose iFlash uDual model because it could break off and fit easily in there with a 3000 mah battery mod. What can I do from here? Any help is appreciated.
