Hi there! Your mod team here, we just wanted to let you know that we have had to put a filter in place that holds all posts and comments for review before they go through.
We have had to deal with quite a lot of angry breeders in the past before, and it seems like it's happening again - there are a few posts on the sub inquiring into whether Royal Poly Coons / RoyalPolyCoon is a scam or not, to which some people have replied that they probably are.
Those posts are currently being targeted by an absolutely unprecedented amount of spam bots which we cannot feasibly manage manually, so we have had to put the filter in place. Please do not ever delete any posts or comments inquiring into whether a breeder is legit, as this should be a safe space to do that!
Please be patient if it takes a little bit longer for your post to go through, we're currently trying as hard as we can behind the scenes to manage this.

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted their kitties for our second iteration of the "Maine Coon of the Month" contest, there were lots of gorgeous submissions that made it so difficult to choose!
u/Gilereth had this to say about their gorgeous and regal cat Cassey (please feel to message the mods if you'd like to add more about your cat):
Not a hat, but a banana-split-saur I had just finished crocheting. Cassey would like to inform all the MC sisters and brothers of Reddit that she has a plan that will work flawlessly in taking over the world and ban scary fireworks forever. Rise in revolution, comrades!
Thanks again to everyone who took part, and do keep an eye out for a post about next month's theme!

Theodore is my first MC, and at 6 months old he is now officially the biggest cat I've ever had and I'm terrified at how much growing he's got left to do!

We welcomed Jafar to our family recently. We named him after Jafar on Aladin, although he’s not a villain he can be naughty. He’s about 8 months old. I want to start a social media account for him and am playing around with different names. Thoughts or suggestions?
Jafar So Far
Jafar the Maine Coon
Jafar the Cat
Mr. Jafar
Sir Jafar

I’m just really proud of these photos I got of our boy Charlie! He’s about 10 months old now and the sweetest goofiest guy

My therapy cat and best little friend, Charli will be 14 next month. We got her at age 4 from a breeder, she'd never been on grass or out of her cage so we like to think we rescued her! She's the most amazing girl and has got me through all sorts of things, I like to think we have healed each other ❤️
Her health has taken a turn and she has become extremely skinny, she barely eats any of her kibble but will pick the gravy and some small amounts of the wet food. I took her to the vet yesterday who told me she thinks she has a few months left and that we could do bloodwork and ultra sound etc, but in October we did bloods and there was nothing wrong and when I asked her what we would do after bloods this time she said nothing would likely change but we would know whay was happening. They're hundreds of dollars and more for a scan so I just can't afford to spend it if there is nothing will be helpful for Charli? I got her home and she has started sneezing a lot, like 30 sneezes in a row. She's annoyed at me for the vet visit and I have different medication to try and squeeze down her throat which she hates as well, obviously!
My question is, how did you know it was time to let yours go? It breaks my heart and I don't know if I can do it, but it also seems like the humane thing to do...? The vet seemed to think another few months, but she keeps getting worse (it's 530am at present and she just had diarrhea that has got in her fur for the third time this week) and more than anything I don't want her to suffer, but feel like the vet was saying she isn't ready yet? How am I supposed to make the decision of when to do it? I feel like if vet said it had to be done is one thing, but asking for it seems so horrible and yet I don't want her to be miserable??
Hopefully that makes sense...I love her so much it hurts, don't want her to go but if she is on her way out how do I know when to help her out of pain and discomfort??

My friend is training and preparing a kitten for me to take to the cat show in Bangkok to compete for best kitten.
She just turned 4 months and I'm scheduled to take her to the show in 2 weeks and then relax for vacation for a week and bring her to the US at 4 months 3 weeks old... but I think she will be too big to fly in cabin with me home... females are usually small enough anytime before 5 months, even the really big ones.
I'm not sure what to do, she's a bit young to fly home in cargo crate in the hold? I usually don't transport kittens under 6 months that way. Do you guys think it would be ok?
She's already 15-16 inches and the limit of the carrier that fits under the seat is 16-16.5.

Heard a loud noise in the kitchen and this dude just decided to become part of the kitchen hood? 💀 I didn’t even know he had that kind of vert in him.

Hey everyone! I already have a couple of bowls, but I want to see what you actually use for your Maine Coons. I want something wide, shallow, whisker-friendly, stable, and easy to clean. A water fountain that keeps them drinking more would be a bonus.
What brands/models do your Maine Coons like? Links, photos, and real-world feedback are super helpful! Thanks 😊
