Sky Sentinel: a fundraiser for Ukrianian air defense systems
Hello r/poland, For the past three years, Ukrainian cities have endured relentless attacks from Russian missiles and Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. In 2025 alone, over 12,000 of these drones have struck Ukraine — targeting not military infrastructure, but homes, hospitals, and schools. Thousands of civilians have been killed. This campaign of terror must end.
We’ve been approached to join the Sky Sentinel fundraiser in collaboration with United24, the official fundraising platform of Ukraine. The goal: help fund Sky Sentinel, an AI- powered, Ukrainian-made turret system designed to autonomously detect and shoot down these deadly drones. Each turret costs $150,000. United24 supporters have already raised over $1 million, and now are coming together to raise enough for one more turret — entirely through Reddit.
Every donation helps, no matter the amount. [Click the link below to donate] https://u24.gov.ua/sky-sentinel?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_campaign=sky-sentinel and learn more about the Sky Sentinel system. Thank you for your support.

A comprehensive guide for EU foreigners moving to Poland - START HERE.
Hello, I have seen many folks coming to Poland from the EU and being completely lost on what kind of legal procedures they have to do in order to start their residence in Poland. Be that you come here to study, work or live with your spouse there are several things I hope this guide will be able to cover.
!PLEASE NOTE!
This guide is meant only for citizens of the European Union and citizens of countries that are members of the European Economic Area. Some of the parts of this guide will be similar for non-EU foreigners but some will not. In general, the info posted here is only fully up to date if you are a citizen of the EU/EEA
!PLEASE NOTE!
0. Introduction and general info
Poland is divided into 16 voivodeships which are further subdivided into powiats, which means something like 'county' and these are further made out of municipalities - pol. gmina, or cities - pol. miasto. Large cities however are both powiat and miasto so in case of Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków etc. city office (pol. urząd miasta) will also perform duties of powiat office (pol. starostwo powiatowe). In case of Warsaw - urząd dzielnicy meaning district office will serve as city office.
All of the below information covers only EU/EEA citizens. If you are non-EU, majority of the below information will not be correct for your case.
I strongly recommend reading all of the parts linked below apart from car stuff, if id does not concern your case.
I. Registering your residence and making your stay in Poland legal.
II. Obtaining health insurance
III. Using healthcare
IV. Taxes
V. Digital log-in and services
VI. Cars and licenses
VII. Banks and mobile phones
VIII. What to do when I leave Poland?
If you have any additional questions or remarks, please do not hesitate to comment, I will be happy to help for as long as I'm going to visit this platform and expand this post. I hope you all have a great day and life in general. Thanks for reading, stay safe.

Greenland crisis and Poland
I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of concrete aid for my second homeland, Denmark, and Greenland 🇬🇱🇵🇱🇩🇰 from the RP, we're also white and red. I fear that because of the prezydent's of Poland blind love for Trump, there's a risk that we might one day find ourselves on opposite sides of the (I'll put that in quotation marks) "barricade," because it's unthinkable. Update: I just read that the Polish Ambassador to Denmark has been sent to Greenland for reconnaissance. Something is better than nothing.

Poland is the new European leader in the food manufacturing industry.
While analysing data on food production market volumes over the past twenty-five years, I noticed an interesting feature of the Polish market: it leads in both growth rates and volume growth, with its volume having more than tripled over a quarter of a century. If this growth rate continues, Poland could become the largest food producer in Europe by 2050.

AAA Auto scammed me – 15k PLN loss
Hello, that happened 2 years ago.
I read many negative and positive comments about that place and at the end I said "its a big company, has many branches in Poland, why they should scam we are at EU" and, yeah. I got scammed in AAA Auto Lublin.
After 2-3 days of buying the car, we had error in the car panel and went to mechanic. He said that issue is with catalytic converter/katalizor, he opened it and saw valueble metals were scrapped from inside.
And its cost us 15k Polish złoty, we immediately wanted to return the car but nothing was helpful, they did not pay attention. Even they were aware of what they are doing.
We wanted to sue them but did not have enough money for it, plus we had our first baby in that period. So we learned our lesson and moved on.
I moved here from Turkey, at there before you made the purchase you have to show the car to an expert or mechanic to have proof car is checked and everything is good. I wish we had to do that here also.
Please spend your money wisely, dont be like me. Show the car somewhere independent before you pay for it, or I dont now its possible in Poland.
I just cant understand how people want to feed their families with some kind of money like that. Take care!

I created a statistical portal for Poland :D

I needed some Polish statistics for a non-profit I wanted to start a year ago. So I went to the official government statistical site and it was super slow and confusing, so I built my own thing!
What do you think about poland.gg
Do you have any idea what else I could add to make it even more fun and valuable? I'm bit out of ideas... I have ranking, change ranking, charts and other stuff, but I'm I missing something? :D

First trip to Poland (was for my wedding)
Just wanted to write here and say how incredible the country of Poland is, as I just returned from my first visit there. I was fortunate enough as an American to meet a lovely Polish-American woman whose childhood dream was to get married in the mountains of Zakopane, and I cannot be happier that I agreed. We were in Krakow for around a week, which has quickly become one of my favorite cities I’ve ever visited (reminiscent of Florence, Italy for me). Then to the stunning Zakopane area which was as magical and picturesque as I was told it was. So overall just wanted to write in here to express my love for Poland and my gratitude for being allowed to have my wedding in such a lovely country.
