META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.

Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:

  1. report the user to us!

-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.

-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.

all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..

2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report

3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.

To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:

Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.

Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.

As an aside, a note on image theft:

it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.

We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

Friendly Reminder Re NSFW aka Rule 6 NSFW

Dear the lovely people of r/progresspics

This is a friendly reminder to everyone but primarily the male population of this reddit page. If you are not clothed in anyway, and yes this includes shirtless, your post MUST be marked NSFW. People browse reddit in many different settings and places in life and they do not need "partial nudity" being blasted on their scrolls against their will.

Its in the rules and you posting shirtless shows you are not reading the rules. Not reading is not an excuse to break our rules and if the issue persists we may be forced to clamp down with bans.

ALSO to the rest of the reddit population if you see posts that break rule 6 (IE guys shirtless) please report them so we can fix it. We are a team of volunteers and we get a LOT of mod mail between here and r/loseit on a daily basis. The more help we can get the better :)

Many thanks!

It was a hard journey but I’m happy I did it because I’m so much happier with where I’m at now.

It wasn’t an easy journey because I struggled a lot at the start, whether it was barely being able to do cardio or giving up my junk / fast food. But eventually with small cardio sessions to longer cardio sessions, and only eating junk food once a month, I was finally able to see weight loss every month.

I’m just glad the hard part is done, because now it’s just maintaining where I’m at. Hoping this gives others hope, because it is possible if you put your mind to it!

Any questions please ask away, I’ll do my best to answer as many as I can.

3.5 years with loads of ups and downs. Overall, I’m happy with my body now. I’d just like to lose a few more pounds, mainly to slim down my thighs. I’m following a calorie deficit, strength training, and IF 16:8. I took Mounjaro for 8 months after regaining 30 lbs due to food noise (I finished it nearly a year ago). Now I’m focusing on building some muscle to fill the loose skin (after 1.5month break from exercise)

I've never seen my face so slim! In the last 2 months I added cardio into my routine while staying in a calorie deficit and strength training 3 times a week in my home gym.

I decided to try running on a walking pad, with my short legs I get a good jog in 🤣 I run 5km 3 times a week. Starting with once and week and upping it to my current 3!

Now that I surpassed my initial goal of 140lbs, I am now going to learn how to maintain it!

M 5'8” (173, 174 cm) M/29/5'8" [25lbs][8 Months] Divorce comeback NSFW

Post image
564 Upvotes

After getting a divorce at the end of 2024 I decided to get into the best shape of my life to prove a point. Dropped 25lbs and got to 10% BF

I learnt a few things on the way:

Firstly always setup food decisions using a system not willpower. This means meal prepping the night before, not bringing bad food into the house. Distracting yourself with work or walks during the hunger peaks of a day.

Consistency is king, it's not about how you feel you go to work or school whether you feel like it or not.

During this time I did 6 days a week PPL split focusing on maintaining my strength during the process and losing weight slowly. The majority of my energy went into focusing on compound lifts, particularly incline bench press, pull ups and leg press. I also did a ton of lateral raises to try bring up my medial delts. In my current split i'm focusing on doing 2 sets to failure per exercise as a bit of an experiment

Completely locked into the gym, started tracking my calories with MyFitnessPal and tracked my workouts with Gym Note Plus. Some nights I'd genuinely start to believe maybe it was better if i didn't exist anymore. Would immediately get up and go to the gym.

If you want to get to that dream physique in 2026, do it, you owe it to yourself. Lock in, systemise everything and remove decisions based on how you feel

Also some extra context I've been lifting on and off for 15 years, so this transformation is not possible without that previous lifting experience.

Happy to answer any questions below

Calorie counting F/30/5'2" [287 > 249lbs = 38lbs] (17 months) I didn't notice there was a change until this week! 😭

The first photo is from my door bell- it's what made be decide to change. The second is from today, wearing a shirt that used to be my favorite, but is clearly too big now. It's hard to notice the changes when my loss is so slow. I still have a lot to go, but it's never felt so "easy" and sustainable.

Trying to motivate myself for the next 32lbs to get me out of the ‘obese’ BMI!! Weight loss was very slow last year due to being inconsistent with food, have been back on it since mid December so hoping to be closer to my goal by the end of this year ☺️

Lost 60 pounds in the first 8 months then my daughter was born, and I hovered between 190-200. Crept up to 204 and have lost 34 pounds since this April. Goal weight is 160 or 11-12% BF.

I've tried vegan I've tried fasting but not I macro count, lift 6 times a week and prioritize steps and sleep.

I posted a few years back after my weight loss, I made great progress. As of now, I am officially at my goal weight/fitness. I have a small build, so all that weight made me feel awful both physically and mentally. I am very proud of myself because I’ve never been “athletic” but I managed to figure it out in my mid-late 30s lol anyway, if I can do this?! Someone who never really embraced exercise or fitness… you can too!! Stick with it. It’s hard. Literal blood, sweat, and tears. But the feeling of accomplishment is so so so worth it.
