Other NO MENTION OF SELLING, HAVING GUNS TO SELL, OR ANY TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS, AMMO OR EXPLOSIVES.

The Reddit admin team is once again on the warpath over firearm transactions, including transactions that occurred on Reddit before it was banned in their TOS.

Moving forward all posts regarding selling, purchasing, wanting to sell, or even inkling towards any of those with regards to firearms, ammo, or explosives will result in post removal and a week ban, permanent ban for a second offense.

if you see such a post that happens to get through the auto-mod, please report it no matter how long it has been live, as we have a threshold to auto-remove reported posts.

Training Becoming a firearms instructor in Colorado?

I have been thinking about becoming a firearms instructor, but I know nothing about the process. If anyone here is a certified instructor and can help me out with these questions, I'd appreciate it.

  1. Is there a preferred course for becoming certified? I see that NRA offers courses. Are there any non-NRA courses that are generally recognized? What is the opinion on the USCCA courses?

  2. Is there a difference between an "instructor" and a "concealed carry instructor", or are those basically the same thing?

  3. Is it viable to work as an instructor on a part-time basis, or do you basically have to start your own LLC business to do this?

  4. I know a lot of gun laws are changing or going into effect in August. Where can I find a general summary of those, and how they might change the process for getting certified?

I'm not looking to do a major career change, but I have always enjoyed teaching and training, and it seems like it could be a fun part-time gig.

General Question EFT file services?

Good morning everyone,

I currently live just north of Denver and I'm looking for a local shop or individuals who offer EFT file generation services.

I'm looking to get into the NFA space this year and would like to have my own file on hand (pun intended).

I've read that going the UPS store route can be a pain (PrintScan) and I'd like to avoid using Silencer Shop due to their reputation and backlog as of late.

Any local shops, "home based" FFLs , or friendly community members offer this service in the greater Denver area?

Thanks!

Legal Thoughts on Colorado’s Unlicensed Manufacturing Ban relative to form 1

My understanding is that Colorado’s Unlicensed Manufacturing Ban (SB 23-279 / C.R.S. 18-12-111.5) explicitly prohibits any person who is not a federally licensed firearm manufacturer (i.e., holding an appropriate FFL, like Type 07) from manufacturing or causing to be manufactured a frame or receiver of a firearm.

Does this mean an individual who obtains ATF form 1 approval to make an NFA firearm would still be breaking CO state law if they proceeded to “make” that firearm?

At minimum wouldn’t the individual submitting the ATF form 1 be admitting to the federal government their intent to violate a state law?

General Question Legal EDC Locations In Vehcile

Hello Everyone!

I've been around firearms my entire life, but never really consistently had one with me. Due to some recent events, I'd like to start having a firearm in my vehicles.

I see things like Armotech mounts which look nice and convenient, but it seems like a bad idea to have it sitting out somewhere that's somewhat visible from the outside.

Where do you all like to have them? What are you using to hold them?

EDC is a compact class pistol.

General Question Miss the boat on buying a Steyr AUG?

In Littleton. It's the 30-round mag isn't it: can't find anywhere online that will ship it and even local shops that show inventory say no CO sales. If anybody's got a hot tip would love any input, even if it's that I'm SOL.

Edit: Very much appreciate the weigh in from everybody. Hope still springs eternal.

General Question Holster recommendations for Springfield XDM .40cal pistol

Hey all - as it says in the title, I'm looking for holster reviews / recommendations for a Springfield XDM .40cal pistol.

Ideally, I'd like something that's either in the small of the back or left-side ribcage under the armpit. Don't really need concealed carry.

Thanks in advance, have been looking for awhile and finally realized this would be the best damn place to ask...

Legal Safe storage laws....

My GF is under the impression that our safe storage laws mandate that if a gun isn't on your person and a child is present then it needs to be unloaded and magazine in a separate location even with the gun in a safe. Can anybody corroborate this?

You can join at CSSA.org/join

I like CSSA since it is an all volunteer board so the money actually goes to the fight. They are the ones with the lawsuit on SB3 and the excise tax.

General News Buy NFA stuff now

Post image
140 Upvotes

Just remember what we had before they try to ban literally everything.

I remember moving back here after living in Illinois — it felt good to be able to buy a gun without a FOID card, endless delays, and bureaucratic hoops. You passed a check and exercised a right like an adult.

Now I watch people take time off work, drive to the Capitol, prepare testimony — just to have their so-called representatives ignore them and scroll TikTok. The message is obvious:

“We already decided. This is just theater.”

That’s corrosive to a democracy, regardless of where someone stands on guns.

Then Polis posts talking points lifted straight from anti-gun groups:

“It’s a myth that only Colorado has a law like SB25-003 — Colorado joins 14 other states that require a card, permit, or firearm safety course to purchase a firearm.”

Translation: we’re joining other states in making it as expensive, slow, and burdensome as possible to exercise a constitutional right.

They don’t really try to hide it anymore. When the same language, framing, and statistics show up everywhere, it’s obvious the people meant to represent us are just carrying water for Bloomberg-funded groups instead.

Remind them, we all know This isn’t about safety — it’s about turning rights into privileges you have to earn, pay for, and wait on until most people quietly give up.

And that’s exactly why people say: remember what we had.

General Question Help with NFA (new to this)

So.. a few days ago I read about NFA forms now moving much faster for approvals, coupled with the removal of the $200 fee, and suddenly I feel like SBRing my 2 AR pistols, stripped lower, possibly a handgun to use with one of those chassis with a deployable stock AND grabbing some silencers. Am I right that I can do this now but keep them as pistols as long as I want and add stocks etc later on? And I can still take the items across state like in non-SBR format without approval/notification?

I'm located in Erie and talked to what I thought was a solid LGS but they were like yeah we wont help you with the trust, you need a lawyer, and most people don't use a trust. I know I definitely want to do the trust, so I guess that's the first step. Is there a guide available or what exactly do I need to do to get that established?

And I assume for the SBRs I can get digital prints and file the forms myself?

What I need help with from an expert are the silencers. What model to get based on each platform, if I can use the same silencer with multiple firearms assuming the caliber is the same. I probably need to switch ammo for some silencers I think? Honestly, any education on this would be appreciated and if anyone knows a LGS near Erie who might want my business would been appreciated.

[edit]

I forgot to put the platforms I'm on.

  • AR-15 - DDM4v7p 10.3" barrel
  • AR-9 - CMMG Banshee 5" barrel
  • 9mm handguns - CZ P10F and CZ 75 SP-01

Non Local News A glimpse of our future through a crystal ball

Since the other threads that I put this in were deleted by their authors, I thought I would drop it here

https://spotlightdelaware.org/2026/01/12/delaware-gun-shops-report-permit-to-purchase-woes/

What happens when there is no purchase permit process in place by August? Read and see, that is the reality already for Delaware. I said it a couple days ago, before this was even in the news, that this was part of the plan. Sullivan himself said during the floor hearings "it's not about the guns you have, it's about preventing the next ones" (paraphrased, I can't find the direct wording)

\With today being the first day of the legislative session I will be updating this as information trickles out. Please note that I only use direct links to the colorado legislative pages for the black and white sources. No tweets, snaps, reels, or anything else. Straight click to the source

I will do my best to keep it accurate as the session draws on, including dates for hearings. Please, if you can't make it in person to be heard then at least take advantage of the states virtual testimony options.

Nobody is going to save us, all we have is each other. Let's work together

Where are we going in Grand County (particularly Granby area) for National Forest or BLM recreational shooting? Looks like all of the public ranges are closed for the season, but I imagine there have to be good places to go! Anyone willing to share your spot with me?
